 + -1 moreGreat service, beautiful work! I'm actually a not-incompetent electrician, and generally do my own work. In this case, the list had gotten longer than I could deal with and at least one of the issues was causing me to swear at the wiring...never a good sign. I checked out several potential electricians on the site, but Scott at Signature was by far the most responsive and clearest about how best to proceed. He came out, did a walk-thru, looked at the scope of work, and gave me both a very realistic estimate (and very reasonable), with a clear explanation of what the variables might be. Low pressure and very, very informative. We were able to schedule the work within less than 4 days (not being an emergency, that was great). Scott showed up exactly on time (having called first), ready to dig into it. The work was all done (except for a part that had to be ordered) well under the time estimate. The 2nd call to install the failed switch module was exactly the same. And the work was beautiful - it's clear that Scott takes pride in his work - every connection is pristine, every wire bend is precise, and he left things cleaner than when he came in. I've seen a *lot* of electrical work in my career (I'm the technical director for a firm that designs and builds theme parks and museum attractions), and this is some of the cleanest electrical work I've seen. And Scott did an outstanding job of explaining everything as he went. End of the day, we came in under the time estimate and slightly over the parts estimate (because of choices that I made - not because Scott missed the estimate). Pretty impressive for a troubleshooting expedition. I'll be calling Scott again for several projects that I think he'll just do a better job than I could....and his low voltage group is definitely on the map to clean up the phone, cable and network rats nest that is currently here in my '60's era home.
Description of Work: Electrical troubleshooting and repair: Tripped breaker (dead short) in load panel. Troubleshoot/repair failed 3-way switch network. Relocate utility outlet, replace with GFI Troubleshoot/repair wiring to steam shower Correct electrical junction box and distribution by previous homeowner.

 + 0 moreTim from Signature Electric came out to bring an electrical box under the kitchen counter up to code in order to prepare for a dishwasher installation. After the installation, we discovered that we didn't have enough clearance to allow the dishwasher to sit completely back in the space that was allotted for it. Tim made a second visit to the house, pulled out the dishwasher, made adjustments to his work to better accommodate the new appliance, and reinstalled the unit. We appreciated the effort that Signature Electric put into ensuring that we were satisfied with all that was necessary for the installation.

 + -1 moreExactly as quoted, as planned, as needed. The work was done fairly quickly despite several obstacles and quirks in my 90 year old house. The finish is as good as new. I'm sure I still have some old wires in the house, but nothing scary shows up at the panel. The new panel allows me to add new circuits for new service. Signature Electric was about $1000 less than competitors for the same work.
Description of Work: I replaced a 50 yr old 100 amp pushmatic breaker system with a new cutler hammer 200 amp system, new underground feed from the pole to the meter, new feed from meter to the panel, and replaced a subpanel with wires home run to the new panel.

 + 2 moreVery good experience with Signature Electric: they showed up promptly to estimate the job and provided an on-site estimate in writing which was half the cost of some other vendors. When we called to schedule the work, they were available with just a few days notice. The electrican was on time both days and worked very quickly and efficiently. He did install a new motion detector light outdoors, but we were unable to make it work. When we called Signature, they sent the electrician back to troubleshoot, and at that point we learned that fixing the light would be a more complicated, expensive job than originally thought. So we elected not to do that part of the work. It would have been nice to know this before we commited to the scope of work, but we live in an old house and are accustomed to unforeseen circumstances. We felt that Signature handled our issue very well.
Description of Work: Installed ceiling fan and wall switch, three new electrical outlets, exterior lighting and switches, and a new interior light fixture and switch. Attempted unsuccessful repair of motion-detector light that didn't function.

 + 1 moreTroy was professional, timely, didn't do unnecessary work allowing me to keep my existing fixture, and didn't try to go 'sell' me something. He diagnosed an outdoor wiring problem and let me know he would send me a quote for expense on that project. He is competent, knowledgeable and professional in his demeanor, and he cleaned up behind him - same with the last time when 2 people came to the house to work. They are not inexpensive, but they do a good job and they are dependable - that's priceless.

We provided all of the light fixtures, switches (Lutron dimmers) and bathroom fans. Tim performed the majority of the work. Tim performed the work on schedule and he was very courteous. We paid 30% when he started the work, 30% after rough-in, 35% at substantial completion and then the remaining 5% at final completion. He deducted $25 off the bid with the Angieslist.com coupon. Overall, we were happy with the work completed and would use them again.

They were available to come out the next day, and they quoted us a similar price to the other electrician. Everything was done correctly and in a timely manner, for a good price (in my opinion). They cleaned up after themselves and left my kitchen in a good condition when finished.

Chris was running a little late on the day of service but phoned ahead to let me know, and arrived as quickly as possible. Both men were very friendly, professional, and courteous. Job took about 2 1/2 hours out of an estimate 3 - 4 hours possible. We are very satisfied and consider Signature our electricians of choice for future work.
