This is the third time that I've used Signature, and will continue to do so. Scott showed up exactly on time (after working with me to find a schedule that worked), surveyed the proposed locations, made some *very* good suggestions regarding adjustments to alignment and spacing and got straight to work. It was not a straight forward installation due to clearance issues (and the blown-in insulation that Scott was coated in), but he still got the work done in a shorter period of time that I'd anticipated - and the finish work is impeccable. You'd swear the fixtures were always there. The per-unit price is definitely in line with what I would expect for quality downlights mounted in this location, and I'd call it a good deal considering the challenges of the installation. Scot was (as he and his guys always are) completely clear about the costs and options all the way through the process - and he even followed up with me when I ran into him at the grocery store! BTW: I should probably mention that by profession, I work in the design and construction of entertainment facilities - and started as a lighting designer. So I am pretty picky about the quality of work and how vendors interact with me in design decisions. Scott and the guys from Signature are a joy to work both in both of those categories, and I'll continue to use them in the future.

We needed to get an electrican fast to keep our kitchen project on schedule. We contacted three electricians for estimates. Scott responded the fastest, came out (I believe) the same day and responded with an estimate in less than 24 hours. Scott seemed very "on the ball" and competent and his estimate was reasonable for the work we needed done, so we hired Scott and didn't wait for the other estimates to come in. We scheduled the work and Scott was very punctual and prompt. The recessed lights, the under-cabinet lights and the light fixtures he hung all look great. We supplied all the light fixtures except for the under-cabinet lights, which Scott supplied. I would highly recommend Scott and would definitely hire him in the future for any electrical work we need to have done.
Description of Work: After we tore out soffits and there were electrical wires that needed to be "buried" before we could sheetrock. Also, moved/added about seven recessed lights, added electrical for two pendant lights, hung two pendant lights and light fixture over table, repaired damaged wiring for oven by splicing and adding box. Supplied and installed three Xenon under cabinet lights. Reinstalled light switch box that was dislocated when we had a basement stair rail installed.

Well, I been waiting for it to snow so I could test out the heater cables. Last week, (Dec 8th) we finally got 9 inches. The light for the controller automatically went on when it was snowing and intermittently went off and on for the next couple of days while it melted snow and kept the runoff moving down my gutters and onto the ground. I looked up today and there was a wide swath of roof where the cables lay. I switched it off. Very happy I don't have to go up there and rake snow off my roof, which can be dangerous when conditions get really bad.
Description of Work: Scott replaced my do-it-yourself Menards roof heating cables with a professional heavy-duty grade of heater cables. He also special ordered and installed an automatic controller that determines the optimum conditions for melting snow and ice on my roof. While he was over, I also had him rewire my garbage disposal, replace 2 switches and 2 receptacles and some other odd electric matters around the house. I always call on Scott whenever I have any electrical issues and have been going to him for years. He also works with other contractors when there are bigger jobs to do

Troy came and looked at the project to be done and, recognizing that the job was bigger than just installing an electrical panel, called me a few days later with an estimate. His estimate was lower than all the others. I agree to have Signature do the work. Troy had to find a panel that would fit the opening on my remodeled basement and also had to find a way to ground the panel to the water meter even though the panel was on the exact opposite wall from the water meter and my basement was re-finished including a sheet-rock cieling. I also had three outlets installed in my garage. Signature arrived exactly on time. There were, I assume, two electicians and one apprentice. They removed the Federal Electric Panel which I had been told several times by various electricians was dangerous, and replaced it. They installed the 3 outlets in my garage. All of the work was done in an outstanding manner with little fuss or bother to me. I was informed when the power would be turned off, how long it would be off. Signature was able to locate a panel that fit the existing opening in my basement wall so that I did not have to do any further remodeling and, found a way to run the ground wire from the panel to my water meter without tearing up my cieling or basement walls. They finished the job quickly and professionally. The state inspector looked at the job a week later, which was arranged by Troy from Signature, and passed the job with no further work to be done. From start to finish I was treated like gold by Signature and there is, of course, no fault with their work. Troy gave me an estimate and stuck with it. I never had to worry, call back or complain. When I need electrical work in the future, I will be calling Signature.
Description of Work: Signature electric installed 2 outlets in my garage and a new electrical panel as I had a Federal Protective Panel which, I was informed by several electricians, was extremely dangerous. I also looked up that product online and found that what I was being told was true. Troy from Signature electric was particularly helpful insofar as he need to locate the correct size panel. I had my basement remodeled several years ago and the wall was re-buillt around the existing panel. As there was a wood frame around the panel, I did not want it destroyed. Troy accomodated that. Also, when I had the basement re-modeled, I had sheetrock cieling put up instead of cieling panels. this made Signature's job difficult because they had to ground the panel to the water meter which was on the exact opposite side of the house from the panel installation. They found a way although it was a lot of extral time, trouble and effort.

Scott came out right away and at the time checked out the wall I wanted the tv mounted on and told me it would not be a problem, I felt so comfortable with him, before he left I asked him about the kitchen ceiling lights being replaced. Scott sent me a bid and I accepted and made an appt tostart the process, one improvement led to another and the rest is history. I am so happy with everything that was done and I am certainly going to reccomend Signature Electric to anyone who needs any help with electrical projects. This company excels in customer service! Thank-you!
Description of Work: This job started out with me wanting an electrical outlet put in my bedroom for a wall mounted tv, by the time the job was done, I had Scott and Tim running the cable and mounting the tv to my wall. I have always wanted my kitchen lights replaced with recessed lights and asked Scott if he would give me a bid on that also from there it kind of snowballed into a pendant light over my kitchen sink, and two pendant lights hung over my island, they removed the ugly little puck lights that were put up originally and then the ceiling fan in my dining area did not look right anymore so we took that down and replaced it with a new ceiling fixture. My house was built in the 70's and crawling around up in my attic could not have been fun, yet they made it seem easy like a walk in the park! Scott is very professional and easy going and Tim was really good at his profession, I was very happy with the results.

They were resonably priced and did an excellent and quick job replacing our electrical panel. The house is older and there was a lot of wiriing that they took the extra time to track down and make sure it was correct. I called them again for a 2nd job to install the electrical boxes for fans in our four bedrooms. They were very quick and effiicient and very nice people to work with.
Description of Work: We had the original fuse box replaced with a new electrical panel and a lot of tracking down what certain wires went to in the home we had just purchased. We also had them out a 2nd time to wire the four upstairs bedrooms for ceiling lights.

Scott came out quickly and gave me a quote on adding a sub panel in my garage. I had done some prep work myself but wanted advice on next steps and was uncomfortable doing some of the installation. The price quoted was fair and the work was scheduled quickly as well. Chris, the electrician that did most of the install, was courteous and professional and even stayed to troubleshoot a minor complication after the job was done. Clean up was first rate too! I would definitely hire Signature Electric for future electrical work!
Description of Work: The new sub panel I purchased was installed in the garage. PVC was bent and installed connecting the main load center to the new sub panel in the garage. A 50A feeder circuit was installed, along with a grounding line to the rods I had installed previously. The old circuits feeding the garage were disconnected.

The whole process was positive. We found Signature on Angie's List. They were one of three companies from whom we requested bids. All were highly rated on Angie's List. One reason we chose to get a bid from Signature was they also installed speakers throughout the house. We ultimately decided not to pursue wiring and installing speakers, but chose to use Signature for the electrical work. It was a difficult choice as there was another company that impressed us with the bid. Scott listened to what we wanted to do and why we were doing it. He made some recommendations based on our discussion. We had multiple questions in the decision process of which Scott was quick to respond. We had an idea of where we wanted to place the recessed lights, but were not exactly sure from a perspective of getting the best lighting. We discussed with Scott what wanted the recessed lights to do for us and the approximate locations. He said his company can determine the ideal spots to get the effects we wanted. Ultimately that is what happened. One day Scott worked. The next couple days a couple from his crew did the work. Everyone was professional and friendly. We had a couple of concerns after day 2 and contacted Scott. He responded to use within minutes and the company addressed them the next day. The work was completed over three days. Scott estimated 2 or 3 days. We later had them come back and do some additional work that is not included in the price above. There were a couple of new things we decided to do after the initial project was completed. So, yes, we did use them again, and would use them in the future.
Description of Work: Multiple projects. Replace 6 indoor ceiling with new fixture and 2 ceiling fans, install an exhaust fan in the bathroom, replace one outdoor light on the back, disconnect old and install in new location a new fixture on the front, install 7 recessed lights, install multiple receptacles (inside and outside) throughout the house, install additional light switches, changing some to be three-way, changing wiring for some receptacles.

I contacted Scott on a Wednesday and asked about getting an overview and an estimate (which at that point I thought was free) for removing the knob and tube wiring in our attic and upper floor of our house. Scott set me up with an appointment for the following Wednesday but said he would contact me if an opening came up before that. On Monday morning he called and said that Tim could come out at noon. That's when I found out that because they would need to open stuff up to evaluate where all the knob and tube was, there would cost $90/hr plus $35 trip charge for the estimate. When Tim came to check the wiring out he was very nice and professional, especially since I was in the middle of a nervous break down about an unrelated financial crisis (there was crying involved). The poor guy was very patient with me. He found out that, yes, the knob and tube was still active and it was ALL OVER! Most of the second floor and about half of our main floor were still running on knob and tube. He gave me an estimate of $1280 for a one day job of two people getting all of the attic and upper floor (the parts that needed to be insulated) and as much of the main floor as possible done, though he doubted that they would be able to get to much of the main floor on the same day.The next day I called Scott and told him I was interested in them doing the work and that I needed it done as quickly as possible, since I was hoping to keep my insulation appointment for the next week. He wonderfully managed to schedule me for Friday (3 days later!). Tim came back to do the work with an apprentice, Max. They worked for 10 hours non-stop! Seriously, if either of them took a lunch or bathroom break, I don't notice! And the work they needed to do looked terribly uncomfortable. I did not envy them needing to crawl into those uninsulated knee walls on a 90 degree day. They got all of the attic and upper floor's knob and tube replaced, a small amount of the main floor (though most of it is still left) and put in two light switches and light fixtures. I asked Tim if we needed to get an inspector out to look at it before the insulation and he said no, which I wondered about but took him at his word. The total cost for the day was $1524.50.About a week later, Scott called me and told me that he thought that it was unnecessary that they charged me the $125 for the estimate since the job ended up being so big and offered to refund me my payment for the estimate. It was a pleasant surprise, and since I was still suffering from the financial crisis I was crying over when Tim came out to give me the estimate, I was very grateful. I received a check in the mail a few days later. About a week after that, and a couple of days after the insulation was put in, I called Scott to ask about why I didn't need an inspection. I had done some research on the subject since it seemed so odd to me that such a large project didn't need an inspection, and the answers on the internet were unclear. Scott was very honest with me and told me that electrical companies are suppose to get permits and inspections on ALL of their projects, but that sometimes it just isn't worth the extra money or hassel, stating they he's never known an inspector to actually go up into an attic or crawl space to look at the work. He then said that he would immediately call for someone to come out and inspect the work for my peace of mind but that they wouldn't be able to see much since the insulated was already in. We had to wait a week since the inspector was on vacation, but he finally came out, looked at what he could and okayed the work. Scott agreed to not charged me the $40 permit fee since I thought the inspection should have been done earlier.Overall, I was very impressed with Signature Electric's communication and work. I was admittedly very needy during this project and everyone I interacted with at the company was friendly and helpful. I will definitely have them come back out for our future electrical needs.
Description of Work: We were preparing to get the attic and upper floor of our home insulated. Upon having our home's energy efficiency check, it was pointed out to us that the upper level, and possibly more, of the house still had knob and tube wiring in it, and that that kind of wiring cannot have insulation put over it. Signature Electric came out to evaluate where the knob and tube was, if it was still functioning and how much it would cost to remove. They then came back and replaced all of the knob and tube wiring in the attic and upper floor as well as installed two new light switches and light fixtures in two of the rooms upstairs.

We are VERY happy with Signature and will definitely call them for any future electrical work. They were very professional and did quality work at competitive prices. They are also very customer service oriented and easy to work with! I would highly recommend Signature. Signature was the best overall contractor on our recent bathroom remodel project. Scott (of Signature) provided a written quote that was competitive. I was on a tight timeline and Scott worked to meet our schedule and was very responsive. Scott and his employee showed up promptly when promised and returned calls and emails very promptly. Signature used drop cloths and cleaned up after themselves very well. When we saw how quickly Signature worked and the quality of their work, we added a number of additional items over and above the bathroom remodel work. Scott fit this work in and was very reasonable on the additional charges. I believe we got great value from Signature. When we had a minor issue with one exhaust fan, Signature was responsive and quickly resolved the issue. We had an excellent experience with Signature! PS: I found Signature on Angie's list - thank you Angie's List!

I was throroughly impressed by Scott. We just moved to the area and had a small job (dishwasher wiring was causing loss of power during the cycle). He was thorough and treated it like it was just as important as the big jobs. He even found that our garbage disposal was unsafely wired and fixed it for us. He was patient with my questions and looked at a few other electrical issues while he was here. I called in the morning and he was here by about 1:30 in the afternoon.I highly recommend Signature Electric and will be using them again.

I started by getting 4 estimates for the above work. All companies were found on Angie's List and had A ratings. Scott's estimate for Signature Electric was the 2nd lowest price (the highest price was almost double). He explained the work & cost clearly. Scott or his employees did everything as stated. Everyone was very professional, on time, and did great work.

Scott was very friendly and professional. Although he had a busy schedule, he was able to accommodate this job within a couple days from contacting him. He did have to make a second visit because the inspector who checked the work required additional things to be done. Would gladly hire again for future services.

They provided timely and competivie estimate. When I called to schedule, they were able to accomodate me in less than a week. They showed up on time, completed the job in a few hours as was appropriate for this size job. They cleaned up nicely and left me much less drywall repair than I expected for even this small remodeling job. Electrician was courteous and friendly. Showed great flexibility as I changed the job defintion from that estimated when they arrived to do the work. Invoiced me for the estimate amount. I highly recommend Signature and they will be my first call on any future needs.
