Description of Work: I ordered all-wood cabinet doors and drawer fronts to replace the sad ones we had lived with the past 15 years. They came primed, and I wanted a smooth, satiny finish that can only come from spraying. Todd Shelton gave me an attractive bid plus instilled the confidence that his company would deliver just what I wanted. And indeed they did! They spray-painted the new doors and drawerfronts, plus the framing of the old boxes (which we did not replace). The result is a new kitchen that we are very proud of. And since I was acting as my own contractor, I have no one to blame but myself when my carpenter discovered I was two doors short--I had miscounted! So when I had to order the two additional doors and sheepishly confessed my error to Todd, he reassured me that even he pros do this sort of thing. When the new doors arrived, Shelton picked them up from me, sprayed them at another job site, and delivered them once again--in just two days! Thanks!

Description of Work: I got a bid from Todd for a house that I had recently moved out of and need to get painted to put on the market for sale. Todd met me at the house at a mutually agreeable time, which was pretty easy to figure out, and gave me a detailed estimate as we walked through the house of what the costs would be. Todd was professional, curteous and seems to know his business well. The bid I received was rather high compared to others ($4,000 to paint all but 3 rooms in a 2,300 sq ft townhouse) though I know there would have been a lot of work involved. I did not use him because I got a lower bid from another company.

Description of Work: Shelton came over to our place to provide an estimate for painting jobs - these included oak cabinets, windows and doors, and walls. He provided an estimate on-site....it seems he has done this so often that he provide you with a reasonable estimate with just one look. It was a reasonable estimate which suggested to us he knows his job well. We dropped our project and hence did not engage him further but we would have if we wold have gone through with our project.

Description of Work: My townhouse required painting of: all kitchen cabinets, upper and lower, including doors and frames; all seven interior doors and door frames; a new patio slider door frame; and a new six-foot window's frame by the front door. Shelton was prompt, pleasant and professional. They did an estimate within two days of my request, and scheduled painting at convenient dates for me. Although four days were reserved, they finished in 2 and 1/2 days. The crew arrived when promised and let me know how the work was progressing. My two dogs, who like attention, didn't bother the workmen. I was able to do computer and phone work from home with no distraction. The painting itself looks wonderful. They did primer, two coats, plus touch-up, and cleaned up the rooms well afterwards. They re-installed a door mirror as well as hanging screws for an antique etched glass window. Excellent work, and I would use them again!

Description of Work: I left a message on thier voicemail and they returned my phone call very shortly after my call into them that they were booked til late september. I did appreciated thier candidness but did not use them.

Description of Work: don't waste your time - I was told they are booked until the spring of 2013. If they are a company that wants to expand, I would think they would hire an additional crew or two. I guess they don't care about making money.

Description of Work: We recently used Shelton Painting for two of the bedrooms in our house and could not have been happier. The price made it completely worth it, and the work itself is top-notch.

Description of Work: In the bedroom and the connecting room, Shelton Painting workers repaired the peeling plaster, primed, and painted. It was very well done, but what was most pleasantly surprising was the speed at which the work was completed. They were here at 8.30 and worked with full intensity until 6.00 pm. Punctual, attentive to detail, and did not disrupt our life (and we all happened to be home those 2 days), and cleaned up meticulously. The dining room entailed plaster repair, removal of wall-paper (which was involved work because it was the old hard kind), priming, and painting. I am not crazy about the color now, but that was my choice. The men who worked on it showed some of the best team-spirit I have seen. They were very nice, not pushy. In the office, they applied a few coats of magnetic paint and dry erase paint and I have not put the cost of that here because that will skew the number. The paints were expensive.

Description of Work: I had a 900 sf rental where every wall needed painting. Todd's crew not only repaired damage to the walls but he gave me some other suggestions to improve the look of the place.

Description of Work: This company states that it is OK to email. B/C I have had a lot of work done both outside & inside my home this year; I thought "Great, I can email my question and see if it is worth it time wise for another companies estimate." I emailed the company on 7/8 this email: "To Whom It May Concern, I am an Angie s List member and I am searching for the best price on the project of painting the interior of my home. I have a family friend that is a great painter; he has already painted my sunroom and powder room- but I was shell shocked to get his bid for the rest of the house. Without sending you his bid (he is not on Angie s List) and to maintain his company s anonymity, I totaled up the square footage that he broke down. He is charging me $3901.00 to paint 5068 square feet. Does this sound reasonable to you? Just by knowing the square feet, are you able to reasonably tell after doing your own measuring that you can give me a better price?" I ended the email with my name, address and phone number. I didn't find this email offensive, I simply don't want to take the time on another estimate if the price will be higher. I want to have a member of Angie's List paint the interior of my home, and this company seemed to have great customer service reports, along with reasonable prices. I thought for certain I would get an email response whether they want my business or not. I was asking a sincere question; I know nothing of how interior paint jobs are charged. I am disappointed that a highly esteemed business on Angie's List blew me off. If you aren't interested in the business, then just let me know. It only takes a moment to reply to an email.

Description of Work: Had an appointment set up for a quote at a specific time but no one showed up and I never received a phone call to reschedule.

Description of Work: Pressure washed exterior of house. Scraped loose and old paint off, protected walls, stucco, siding, and windows from paint, and total painting of house.

Description of Work: I called Shelton hoping they could take on an urgent interior painting/staining job for me--priming and staining a newly installed wooden window upper/lower sash before I left town on vacation in a week. (The new window was bare wood, so the storm window had to be closed until it was finished, and I wanted the window operational for my housesitters.) The firm was too busy to do the job in the time I had, but I was impressed that Todd Shelton called me promptly to let me know that. Not all contractors are so responsive, especially when they already have all the work they can handle!

Description of Work: I'VE WORKED WITH TODD BEFORE FOR INTERIOR WORK AND WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. MY CHOICE FOR PAINTING THE EXTERIOR OF MY HOUSE CAME DOWN TO TWO COMPANIES, BOTH FROM ANGIE'S LIST. BOTH WERE COMPARABLE IN QUALITY, BUT ONE COULD GET THE JOB DONE EARLIER IN THE SEASON AND FOR $350 LESS. SO, I MADE A DIFFICULT DECISION AND CHOSE THE OTHER COMPANY. STILL, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TODD SHELTON FOR ANY INTERIOR PAINTING. HE WAS GREAT.
