The bid was double that of two other highly rated Angie's list painters. We did not use this company.

First of all, we were never told to make sure to get everything out of the cabinets because it would be taped up and not accessible. On the first day, I got home and noticed our wood floors were very dusty and had some white particles on them from the ceiling work being done. I had to sweep up the floor and wipe it down with a damp cloth. The painter left all his equipment on top of our granite counter which I didn't like. On the second day, he finished the project and asked me to take a look at everything. I pointed out some spots on the walls and ceiling that were not sanded well. He sanded over a couple spots on the wall and one of them was a dust spot that he had painted over. It made me wonder how well he cleaned the walls before he painted. The middle of the ceiling was smooth but the corners were done poorly and the edges were not smooth. There are still some areas on the walls that were not smoothed out well or that have some drip marks on them. I thought about redoing these areas myself, but decided to call the company and have someone come back out. One thing I also noticed was that the painter cleaned at least one of his brushes in my bathroom sink. After he left, our sink doesn't drain anymore. My husband applied Drano twice to see if he could get it to drain, but the water just sits in the sink. I have had to call a plumber to come out and fix the drain. It will be interestingto see what he finds in the sink. I did call Todd and he was apologetic and said he would send the same guy out again to do some touch ups. I told him that I would prefer to have someone else come out. I was also told by the painter when he left that if I needed to have anything else touched up to call the company. I think that follow-up is important for a company and it would have been nice to get a call to see how things went, especially when you have an "A" rating.

The job went extremely well! They estimated taking 2 to 3 days to complete the entire project. They were done in less than 2 days. Extremely helpful in moving furniture and washer and dryer. Great communication by the entire painting crew as well as Todd. I highly recommend these guys to paint anything you have!

Everything went wll. No changes in the quote, but they were flexible and added on another small job for us. The workmanship is great. The ceiling coves in the dining and living rooms have never looked so good! They patched all nail holes ( which were quite a few since we had new windows and door installed). The painters were friendly, clean, took care in covering and masking off everything. We are very pleased and can recommend this firm to anyone, no hesitation.

All the workers were professional...worked hard...and did a great job ...and were timely and polite..Job was cleaned up perfectly.... You might have to wait a while to schedule these guys because they are good...but I would HIGHLY recommend them!

I contacted them in the fall and they were very responsive in returning my call and coming out for an estimate. Todd and Dan came out for the estimate and indicated that I could get on their calendar for first thing in the Spring 2012. I did however have some trim work that needed to be done in order to get the gutters up and they agreed to send a crew out within a day to do that. Frankly I did not shop around as the reviews here on Angies List were so good and in general the company has a solid reputation. In our meeting I could tell they understood the specifics of painting Hardie Board siding and knew that the Duration paint would best require two coats with back rolling (some other painters did not use this practice as set forth by Sherwin Williams). They called in the Spring as promised and we set up the work date. Due to the great weather we were able to get going early. Shelton Painting crews are polite and no nonsense. They just come in and get the work done. They are careful in covering plants and other items that could be affected. The project went well and Dan did the walk around to make sure everything was good. A few small fixes which he did himself. I am a very detailed oriented homeowner and not too easy to please...Dan was patient with my questions and concerns in advance of the job and I can honestly say I had no complaints and once they got going I knew I had hired the best company for the job. One report above gave them a bad grade for being too busy and being honest about that...would you want to hire a company that was not busy? or worse yet a company that told you they could do your job and then could not deliver on time? I don't think so. I highly recommend Shelton Painting..if you need to wait as I did you will be glad you did.

Shelton Painting did an excellent job. They worked with us to select the color and and brand of stain we wanted. The crew was here on the days promised, The crew needed to remove large screen panels on the gazebo to access all the wood and in spite of having to use tall ladders to access and remove the large, unwieldy screen panels they did not put one hole or scratch in the screen panels. All the wood, including small decorative trim, was cleaned and stained as promised. I have not found one spot that was not done correctly even though the gazebo has tall and difficult areas. When the wood was finished the crew replaced the custom made screen panels in the proper locations.The price was reasonable considering the high quality of the work. I plan to call Shelton again when we need the house painted.

They were very upfront on the first phone call that they were completely booked until the fall. Since we weren't in a huge rush to have the work done, I had them come out for an estimate. Todd was very professional and personable. He took a quick walk around the house, and I explained the work that needed to be done. Without taking a measurement, he gave me an estimate on the spot. As it was my first estimate, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out this estimate was more than double what I received from other contractors for the same job. I don't know if they're THAT good, or since they don't need the work, they can inflate their prices. We hired another contractor, and were very happy with the results.

I am very disappointed. I think that it was so over quoted. It was double what others had quoted me.

Exceptionally well. This company will be doing exterior also. This company is on time, clean, responsive and skilled. Easy goings. If my rooms did not have changed paint I would not even know that they were there.

We had a great experience with Shelton Painting. I contacted Shelton Painting on April 30th and Todd came out that day for an estimate - I felt that his estimate was reasonable and immediately trusted that he would do the job right and that his work would be high quality! I accepted his proposal a few days later and scheduled the work to be completed May 29th-31st. From the beginning, Todd and his crew were very professional and easy-to-work with. A crew of 2-3 completed the job in 2.5 days - they took great care to cover the furniture and floors and cleaned up after completing their work. The crew was meticulous in their prep work and painting and I absolutely love the finished product! I wouldn't hesitate to hire Shelton Painting in the future and would highly recommend others consider them for any interior/exterior paint jobs!

Todd came out in a timely manner and gave us an estimate for staining and varnishing. Todd picked out a stain color that matched. The stainers were here on time and were very professional. We couldn't have asked for better! They did a great job and we were very impressed with them. Todd answered many questions we had and gave us some great ideas. Because they did such a great job, we have hired Shelton Painting to paint the outside of our home this summer. We are very happy to have found them!

From the start, Todd and his crew were very responsive, professional and easy-to-work with. Todd responded quickly to our request for a quote and he came in at the most competitive price of those we invited to bid. The work included repairing a highly visible crack down the center of our 23 foot living room plaster ceiling. This involved repair of the damaged area, skim coating the entire ceiling, sanding, priming and painting the entire living room and dining room ceiling. His crew of Carlos and Jim were exceptional. They knew that we had endured a previously bad experience with a different painting contractor who botched the repair to the ceiling and they were very attentive to our concerns. His partner Dan managed our project and along with Todd they recommended a flat finish for our ceiling and yet said we could choose whatever we wanted. We are so glad they said this because the flat finish looks terrific!They also took great care to cover the walls, furniture and floor. Afterwards they cleaned up great. Dan even came back to touch up a couple spots. We felt that they performed the work on our living room ceiling as if it were their own. You can't ask for more than that in terms of detail and professionalism.You'll be in great hands with Shelton Painting.

I cannot say enough good things about this experience. Todd and his crew were just wonderful. It is often difficult to have "strangers" in one's home, but the crew was great--polite, professional, hard-working. Todd had warned us about the dust involved in removing our old ceiling. Their prep job for the ceiling work was excellent. They wrapped all walls, furniture, etc--even the ceiling light fixtures. After the job was finished, they did a fabulous clean-up job. My new ceilings are beautiful. Our walls were old and needed patching and sanding in many places. The crew was meticulous in their prep work and painting. We were thrilled with Todd, his crew, and their quality job.

After researching several companies on Angies List, we contacted Shelton Painting for a bid. Todd was prompt in returning our call and we scheduled a date to meet for an estimate. We walked through the house, room by room, going over the work that we wanted done. Todd was very helpful with suggestions and ideas as to what should/could be done, but was never pushy. He is very knowledgable and experienced in his field and we felt confident that he would get the job done. We accepted his proposal and work started on the scheduled date. Todd's crew of 5 - 7 worked three days on the job. All crew members were friendly, polite and respectful of our home. They worked hard scraping, applying dry kill, repairing walls and ceilings with a plaster skimcoat and painting the ceilings, walls and radiators. They did a wonderful job and everything looks great! I wouldn't hesitate to hire Shelton Painting again.

Shelton Painting did work for us when we experienced water damage on both the main and basement levels of our home. We were so pleased with our first expereince I asked them to come back for another small project. Todd is a great owner and should be very proud of the company he has built. He came in gave me a quote the same day and even gave me some tips on some possible cabinet projects we where thinking about (even though he wasn't there for the cabinet job)As a new home owner, I appreciated his advice!! I also had been experiencing issues with back pain so when there were things I couldn't move without help, I came home and the heavy furniture, fridge, etc were all neating stacking in our garage as if I had been there overseeing them moving the items. The total project took only three days and they worked on over 1/2 my home. Every day I came home from work and their supplies was neatly placed in one area (versus some other contractors who leave their materials where they finish for the day)Shelton is my main contact for any painting and drywall projects I have now :)

Todd gave me the estimate late last Fall and said they'd get to it next Spring. Well, here it is April 10, 2012 and they just finished up. I was truly amazed at the work the crew did covering all the windows and securing all plant and borders. Dan did the power wash and he said there would probably be some places that had gone a bit too far. But, taking a look at what they did today makes me very very pleased with the quality of the work the entire crew did. My place has, "That Look" again....Could not be happier with this company! Book early as they are always super-busy, and I know why!!!

They didn't call me back so no work was done.

The initial quote itemized the prep work and the drying time between washing, caulking and primeing. This is the quality I was looking for. I waited my turn from last summer for this type of service and was not dissapointed. My house is a 2 story colonial style, hardboard wood siding with cedar trim. During the power wash Dan noted I needed some siding repair by a carpenter. When I didn't have one available he found one for me. Several areas of water damage were repaired including flashing mistakes. I was shown each area before the repair. Everything was covered for the spray paint stage. Then the team painted trim. Everyone was pleasant and respectful. The job took a week with a rain day.I chose the best paint available at a higher cost but the paint job will last 10 years. Dan stopped by daily to assess the progress and give me an update. This job was well worth the cost and then some. Thank you Todd, Dan and staff.

Got three bids for painting the exterior of my house, including one from Todd Shelton. He showed up for the estimate as scheduled and was very professional, carefully explaining the process and products to be used. But his bid was more than double the other two and his lead time was four months out. If business is so good that he can charge so much and schedule so far ahead, more power to him but I'll pass.

Todd answered my message and came over to see the house promptly, gave us a good bid, scheduled the work for an appropriate time and came when he said he would with his team 5 workers. They were clean and easy to have around even though there were a lot of them working in different areas all at once. They were careful to get the paint colors correct and made an excellent job of the different types of task needed.

Met with Todd Shelton and received estimate of job. He was extremely professional and took the time to explain things to me. Told me exactly what his crew would do and when they would be here. Crew showed up exactly when Todd said they would. They were all extremely polite and patient with all of our interruptions. They cleaned up each day before they left. We had moved most of the furniture 3 feet from every wall, and we had taken down all wall hangings, pictures, hooks, etc. As they finished each room, the crew took the time to put the furniture back in place for me, which was wonderful! The paint looks great!

We hired them after getting 3 quotes. They were the lowest and I got the best "vibe" from them. They show up on time. They came with a big crew and finished it all in one day. Everything was cleaned up nicely and we couldn't have been happier! Thanks Shelton Painting!

After contacting them I heard back the very next day and they within 5 days I had received an in person estimate AND a team of 5 was at our house working away! From contacting them to finished project was about a WEEK! Wow! So wonderful for such a big job! Plus, they did a wonderful job (all the details were accounted for), they were professional and they cleaned up after themselves. Aside from our house looking 10x's better, it was like they were never there! We have had a LOT of contractors in and out of our house in the last two years, these guys by far and away are the most impressive we've seen yet! Such a breath of fresh air!

Great! I'll hire Shelton Painting again.
