They were efficient but overhead talking about how careful to do the job and the response was, "Don't worry about it, just do it." The painting was fine, the repairs were done and painted before the spackle was sanded smooth or before the fill was complete, which leaves a poor appearance in those areas. They were careful in laying tarps and cleaned up quickly and well.

They were terrific. Would highly recommend them.

The job went very smoothly. He brought in six painters on Monday, they stripped all the wallpaper in a day and a half. They are hard workers. Todd did some work for the association which wasn't planned and still finished the entire job in a very timely manner. The job was totally completed by Friday afternoon. We appreciated the fast work because we plan to put the condo up for sale asap. Our realtor told us it was the best paint job he had ever seen. It truly is a professional job. I called Shelton Painting for an estimate and within 2 days I was able to get an estimate from Todd. I called him couple weeks later to set up a date and Todd was very prompt to call me back and let me know the week they could start. Todd also called the night before as a reminder that they were coming the next day and told me his business partner (Dan) would be the one I will be working with the next day Dan arrived on time with 3 other people. They completed the job the same day. Everything looked great. I will definitely use Shelton Painting again when we paint the rest of our home.

Dan was prompt with the bid and we signed right away. Several months earlier we had gotten three bids (including Shelton) for the same room. At that time the bid was for wall repair and painting as we were unsuccessful removing 3 layers of painted wallpaper. We subsequently tore down the drywall and had new board installed. We were thus eager to have the painting done. Shelton came to paint the next week. Prep was thorough. Painting took 1.5days and was a combination of spraying (new doors and new trim) rolling and brushwork. A few minor complaints we had were addressed by Dan and the final product looks great.

Shelton were excellent, they were prompt, professional, polite, quick, highly skilled, flexible and did a great job. They made several suggestions which improved our end result.

I called Shelton Painting after seeing the large number of positive reviews here on Angie's List. They are located relatively close to my home, so that was another factor. Todd was able to schedule an estimate with a quick turn around time. He was prompt to the Saturday appointment and did a great job noting the very large list of things that needed to be done (Paint this trim, but not that trim. Paint the outside of this door. Paint just these two walls, etc.) I appreciated Todd's extensive knowledge of plaster wall challenges and older south Minneapolis homes. I received a bid on the spot. I called Todd a couple of hours later to let him know we wanted to hire Shelton for the job. Todd and his crew were scheduled to start their work the following Tuesday. They arrived very promptly at 8:30. The crew took care to cover furniture with plastic and taped paper to the floor to keep things tidy. It is pretty messy once you add in all the sanding, but I think they did a great job with the clean up. I am very happy with the final result and am relieved that I didn't have to do all that work on my own!

Service was great, they did a fantastic job. When I first called them, they responded the same day, had a guy sent over the next day to give an estimate, and had started within a week from then. Once the work was done, it was done very quickly and I was extremely impressed with both the speed and quality of the job. I definitely plan on using them again in the future.

Exceptionally well. Beautiful results. Quickly completed-others had refused to do it or made a bid and never showed up. Have used before and will not hesitate to use again for both plaster repair and painting. Completed sooner than initially estimated/

Reilly was our painter and he was awesome, my daughter was sick and out of childcare so I was around for the day (didn't plan to be). He worked so hard and did a great job, he updated me on what he was doing and was really professional. I would ask for Reilly again for our next painting job he was fantastic. Thanks to all at Shelton Painting - we now have a lovely bedroom.

I cannot give a strong enough recommendation for Shelton Painting, they exceeded my expectations on every aspect of the project. When I called to coordinate an estimate, they scheduled it promptly, they showed up on time to do the estimate, they showed up on time to do the work, they finished the work on time, and charged me exactly what they estimated my job would cost....what more could you ask for....oh yeah....great work, which they also did!

Everything went perfectly. The planning and prep work was well organized, and the entire job was done very efficiently. They were able to work around some of the furniture that had to be left in the room. They are experts at what they do. The results are very pleasing. The work was all extremely well done.

I don't mind saying that I am very fussy. Like Jeff Lewis fussy (if you know that BRAVO show) and Shelton's passed with flying colors. I learned about Shelton's Painting from reading the other reviews on Angie's List. Thank you all! They were a fabulous choice. They were quick, clean, meticulous and a nicer team of painters I have never met. I had a team of four or five guys to come in and painted everything beautifully. They did a fabulous job cleaning up, moving furniture back and they were very concerned about any touchups I wanted. In fact, they came back for a couple of minor touchups that made it absolutely perfect. Todd, the person I worked with, was very responsive and very customer service oriented. And one thing I really liked about the team of painters is that they really cared about their work and making me a happy customer. You could tell this was their profession -- not a summer job kind of thing. Worth every penny.

The team arrived promptly at 8:30 (the agreed upon time). I handed over our paint selection to Dan and he went off to get the supplies. The rest of the team jumped in to action scraping the walls. They were swift and thorough in each step they completed. We had to move items from one area of the basement to another and they worked with us to make sure we weren't damaging the just painted areas. They were done faster than originally suggested which was spectacular. We did a walk-through and when we found a few holes to patch, they did not hesitate. They transformed the space with their work and we could not be happier.

The painting team arrived on schedule and completed the job the same day, very satisfied with the results. I found a very minor caulking issue a few days later and they came back and fixed it the next day after being called, just in time for hosting Thanksgiving using our new kitchen. I am very pleased with their quality of work and have already agreed to have Shelton paint the rest of the interior after the first of the year, I will use them for all future painting projects as well.

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I have used Todd Shelton's painters. I found him on Angie's List and it's not a surprise how many wonderful reviews he gets. He is such a professional and really cares about doing the best work for his clients. And, should something go wrong, he will take responsibility and fix it. When the painters are done, they leave the place spotless. Todd is such a pleasure to work with, and our dogs love him! I couldn't imagine using any other painter, and feel lucky to have found such a gem.

We had started the effort of removing all the popcorn from our ceilings in our second story but it was taking too long to complete. We called and requested a quote which they provided very quickly. Once we made the decision to move forward, we scheduled the work to be completed about 3 weeks out which worked well for our schedule. They arrived as planned, did a great job with putting up plastic barriers to keep the mess from our furniture and floors, even using a tarp on the stairs and in our entry way. The job took 3 days, just as they had planned. The crew arrived on time each day and completed by 5pm. They cleaned up after themselves each day. Once the work was done, they cleaned up everything including wiping down the furniture, vacuuming all the floors, putting back anything they moved, and even washed their drywall footprints off the driveway. This was far beyond my expectations. At this point, Dan walked me through each of the areas which look absolutely beautiful. They even applied a caulk to the point where the ceiling and walls meet so that when I repaint the rooms, it will have a clean line. There was one place that showed a bubble which Dan pointed out to me. He explained that sometimes this will show if the ceiling is a bit damp. He said if it was not gone in 2 days, call them and let them know so they can come back out and fix it. The work they completed was absolutely fantastic. We have a vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom, which at the time of the quote, it was noted that a flat ceiling may show waves so if we wanted to use the knock down ceiling in there, that was an option. I talked this through with Dan on Monday before the work started. Much to my delight, they left the ceiling flat and not a wave in sight. In addition, Dan had asked if we had any of the wall paint available as sometimes the tape holding the plastic will remove the paint. If that happened, they would touch up the wall paint. I got out the paint and they did the touchups before they left. I would recommend this company to anyone needing drywall repair / paint work to be completed and will look for an opportunity to use them again myself.

I had actually hired another company to do this job in July. However, that owner of that company called me late in the afternoon the day before he was supposed to do the work to cancel the job due to a back injury. That's when i called Shelton Painting. I had a good experience with Shelton Painting. Todd was prompt, showed up when he said he would and answered all of my questions. Of the three bids I got for this work, Shelton Painting was the highest. However, I decided to hire Shelton Painting anyway because they were able to begin the work quickly and had the best estimate for the amount of time the job would take. Todd estimated it would take 3 days to complete the job. As it turned out, it was done in 2 days. Todd's crew was wonderful to work with, as well. I have 2 dogs that I needed to let out a couple of times a day during this work. Someone from the crew would let me know when there would be a break in the work so I could let my dogs out. They were fine with my nosing around to see how things were coming and friendly and pleasant, but professional and they worked really hard. The only thing I didn't like was that instead of scraping off the little bits of popcorn that inevitably end up on the wall just below the ceiling, they just caulked over those places to minimize the "bumps." I realize that this is the industry standard. However, I've scraped popcorn ceilings in smaller rooms where I have a flat ceiling and I took the time to remove those stray pieces and feel the finished work looks so much better after taking the time to do so. Still, I was very happy with the work and would not hesitate to recommend Shelton Painting.

Todd's crew was very polite, friendly and professional. This project took over a week of work and they were there on time every day. Their preparation work with taping and drop clothes was thorough and meticulous. Todd stopped by frequently to review the work and ensure our satisfaction. At end of the project a can of paint was accidently spilled. There was no question on Shelton's part as to whether or not they would repair the damage. They quickly owned up to the accident and immediately identified a source for new carpet and installation and prepaid for the work so that their was no question about who was responsible for the bill. A couple spots needed touch up work and a cabinet door needed new hinges. They promptly responded to subsequent touch up work. I highly recommend this contractor and will use them again.

I have used Shelton Painting before, and no matter if the job is small or large, I know that they will be responsive, professional, and do an excellent job from start to finish, including clean-up. For this work, they responded to my initial call the next day, came over for an estimate that week, and scheduled the work when it was convenient for me. They did excellent work. There are never any surprises with cost; they are true to the estimate.

I loved Shelton Painting. Todd is great. I originally got 2 estimates but since once was extremely high and the other extremely low, I decided to get one more. Shelton was right in the middle. Scheduling an estimate was quick and the wait time was not long. Todd was very professional and also seems to love his job. He's very enthusiastic. The work was scheduled for only a few weeks out. The crew showed up on time and made quick work of the project. They took fewer days than expected but I appreciated that we were told longer to allow for any unforseen problems. They did a lovely job on removing the disgusting popcorn ceiling and we love the new knockdown ceiling. The paint job looks beautiful and we are very pleased. We will use them again as we continue redoing the rooms in our house.

We had a bathroom that had had terrible mildew issues. We fixed the ventilation problem but were left with mildew on ceilings and walls. Add in a terrible previous paint job that was cracked and peeling, and we dubbed the room "the bathroom from h***." Really. It was so bad that I was embarrassed to post "before" pictures. That bad. I reached out to Todd and three other painters on Angie's List. One didn't reply, one wasn't available in the time I needed, one I had troubling getting together with for an estimate (my scheduling issues, not his), and Todd. He was prompt in communicating, but didn't badger me - always a plus. Took less than 10 minutes to make an assessment and complete the estimate. When we found out how quickly he could get the job done on top of it, we hired him on. The day before the appointment, Todd called to follow up to make sure they were expecting us. I emailed him the color of the paint I wanted from Sherwin Williams, as he suggested. Today, a member of his crew showed up right on time and got straight to work. He was quiet, friendly, polite, and efficient. It didn't look like the same room! Beautiful quality work and he cleaned up everything after he was done. Todd had estimated two days for completion, but it was done in the same day. What a bonus! Todd came back when the job was completed for a walkthrough inspection. We had nothing but great things to say. It's clear that he takes pride in his company's work and has a great crew working for him.

We were not able to start this project due to other expenses that needed immediate attention,.

The painting job was beautiful and Todd and the painters were very professional and courteous.

He was very experienced, knowledgable and wise. I am still getting quotes from other painters before I decide who I will go with.
