I highly recommend Sean's Renovation. Sean has been great to work with from start to finish. Not only was our front porch--which needed significant structural repairs--fully replaced, but also Sean was able to engage with us to marry the design of the porch with the rest of our 1880's Victorian home. Several neighbors have already stopped by to compliment Sean's work as well.

We remodeled our kitchen and back entry, mud room and half bath. Sean was fantastic to work with. He is friendly, always helpful with tactful suggestions that were better than what I had planned. He worked with high quality sub contractors that did an excellent job. The final product was even better than we had imagined. He was so easy to work with and lots of fun! I highly recommend him for your next high end project.

We regularly work with Sean on updates to our home. He is very thoughtful and it’s nice to have someone we trust working on our house. Most recently we renovated a bathroom and closet, which we are very happy with!

Sean was great to work with. He is very conscientious and really knows what he is doing. I get compliments on my newly finished basement and bathroom all the time, and I would recommend him to friends and family anytime. Decades in the business really show.

Sean did an awesome job working within limited space and budget to creatively and beautifully remodel our bathroom for safety and comfort. He helped us make good choices with materials and paid close attention to all the details. He was punctual and always thoughtful about cleaning up every evening. Our project was a huge success and we are very happy with the result. I think out of all the work Sean did and thought he put into our project, we most appreciated his willingness to discuss different options with us and give a professional opinion throughout the renovation process. From deciding what kind of tile to use, how to design the island, what kind of light switches to order… the list goes on… Sean was able to help us make good choices based on our lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, and budget. We appreciated the reliable source of information and will go to Sean for other projects in the future!

I was impressed with Sean from our first meeting on. He brought experience, professionalism, and thoughtful ideas to my project and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Sean did a wonderful job remodeling our bathroom while we were away. Even in an old house with uneven floors and few straight lines, he was able to give us the fresh look we were hoping for in just a couple of weeks! Highly recommend his work.

Project went great! A previous owner had built a 2nd floor bathroom extension over a porch that sprung a leak through the porch. Sean was able to salvage much of the structure, make key repairs, and re-craft the bathroom extension to match the house (Victorian). Sean also did a full bathroom remodel. Incredible communicator, very collaborative design process, thoughtful and thorough work, great attention to detail. Would often arrive in the morning with a "I was thinking about it last night and would recommended we..." We've already hired Sean for another big project (3rd floor renovation). Total price of $55,000 was tied for most competitive of 4 bids received. Note that ~half was to repair and rebuild structure and the other ~half was for a full, large bathroom remodel.

This went Perfectly. The porch now looks better than the rest of the house. Attention to detail is Sean’s middle name. Very easy to work with too.

Sean put in a great deal of effort to try to solve the mystery of why my flooring needed the repair in the the first place. Not only did he repair the flooring from above but also crawled under my house (no basement, only crawl space) to make sure the flooring beams were stabilized. As as added bonus, he took some time to have a lengthy discussion about the overall condition of my house and some possible options for the future. He's at the top of my list to call for any future needs.

Sean is the best contractor we have ever worked with in over 35 years of home ownership. He took our sorry little bathroom and turned it into a gorgeous retreat. The project had a couple of complications. First, we have only one bathroom, but Sean worked through that problem with us in the most considerate, helpful way possible. We left the house for only two nights, while the tile floor was being laid and finished. The second complication, the covid19 pandemic, hit about two weeks into the project. We collectively made the decision to go ahead with the project, which meant that Sean, my husband and I would all be working full-time, in close quarters, every day. Frankly, it was a pleasure to have him around. He sent us daily emails with a plan for the day, and he just kept going with his superb craftsmanship, creating a beautiful bathroom perfectly tailored for us, taking time every day for absorbing conversations with us. In short, the process was enjoyable, and the finished product is lovely.

From the start Sean was great. He took one look at the bathroom and recommended a plan - which was executed swiftly and smoothly. The bathroom needed to be fully gutted and built back up with a complete change to the bathtub/shower area. Given the extent of the project I thought it would take much longer than the 5 weeks Sean said - and it was done in exactly that time frame. Sean was so easy going and respectful of the house and our family's schedule, never intrusive and got along with both our dog and our 4 year old. Additionally, we only have the one bathroom so that complicated things a bit but we were only put out one day while the floor set. Overall, the experience was great and I will call Sean up when I'm ready to do any other remodeling project!

The whole process was fantastic. In addition to his professionalism, Sean is very knowledgeable and skilled in his trade. In many areas of the project, he went above and beyond our expectations. What was once an ugly and unused room, now is a pleasant, beautiful room to relax in. Thank you Sean!

Very well, Sean was always on time, worked hard, always kept me up to date each day with what he was working on and always checking in with me to make sure I was happy with each days progress. He was also very clean and cleaned up after himself every day. He is also very friendly and personable.

Sean demoed and repaired a rotted subfloor in my bathroom and installed a new tile floor. He was easy to work with and a great communicator. There were a few issues with the plumber that was on the job (trying to grow the job and cracking a couple tiles after they were installed) but Sean went above and beyond dealing with them as well as replacing the tiles.

Sean came highly recommended from another contractor buddy of mine at a time when I really needed help. I had a falling out with my previous builder and was midstream in a big project. We spoke on the phone, and the very next day he came....assessed what needed doing and then seamlessly picked up all of the loose threads with improved design ideas. I was relieved to have found him to guiding the project along. A tireless, skilled, honest worker as well as fine fellow to boot. Reliable to a T. I feel fortunate to have had him as well as his occasional sidekick Hildy on the job. The two of them worked seamlessly as a team. So much so....I sometimes thought I there were more carpenters on site. They got things done! If I ever needed another builder....he would be my guy. And....am happy to have made a new friend as well.

Amazing, I would hire Sean again. He was detailed, punctual and I would a hundred percent use him again.

Sean was easy to work with, and very fair and honest throughout the whole project. He kept us up to date on timeline and status updates.

First, let me say that we would not have even considered such an ambitious project had we not worked with Sean's Renovation in the past and had such incredible results. Since 2009, Sean has worked with us on 5 projects to get ready to retire and age in place in our south Minneapolis 1920 home. Sean completed the remodel of our 2nd floor full bath; the remodel of our first floor 3/4 bath; and the remodel of our kitchen and eating area. He partnered in the re-decorating our dining room, living room, entryway and sunroom and the redesign of our first floor family room. Each of these projects have all been done within budget and in the most timely, professional, and minimally invasive way possible. The current, very ambitious basement remodel was more extensive and accomplished with the same professional excellence. The cement floor was completely removed to allow the installation of radiant heat, all walls were taken down, and all of our many goals were accomplished. Sean was incredibly patient with our myriad of ideas of what we wanted to accomplish and over time, as the opportunities and challenges of our emerging space revealed themselves, we continued to rework and refine the plan to meet our needs. The same is true with respect to the materials to be used for the flooring, the climbing wall and the counters. Sean's tile work and finishing work is unsurpassed, and he constantly includes details and contingency plans that lead to incredible outcomes. I have included a couple of photos of this finished remodel, and have included one of the kitchen and one of our family room bath done in the past. (While Sean did amazing work in our basement, it is work on kitchens and baths that make his heart sing, as you can see in the outcome!!!!) Sean is so incredible to work with, and over these numerous projects, all of our fears about remodeling have been put aside. I remember reading on this site in 2009 that people were sorry to see Sean go at the end of the project and I thought, "what, are these people nuts???" Well, we now fall into that category, and may end up remodeling our attic or garage (all we have left!!) just to get to see him again!! Good luck with your project, but you cannot do better than Sean's Renovation!!!

Went very well within budget and schedule. Sean hired the electrician and plumbers and did all the rest himself with a helper for the demolition of the old tile and with moving the tub. The tub had some tricky installation issues which Sean handled very well. The is the second time he has done a bathroom remodel for us and we were pleased he was available this time as well. He is very personable, gets along with family routine (including pets) well and cleans up at the end of every day. Sean is well versed with the issues of remodeling older houses. Highly recommend.

Amazing! We bought a condo that needed a total redo - kitchen, bath, flooring, doors, lighting and appliances. Sean helped us plan the remodel from the start. He helped us decide what changes would make the highest impact and stay within budget. He was open to unconventional design ideas and willing to do them even when it meant considerable extra work. Throughout the project he had creative solutions when we ran into unexpected obstacles. He completed the project on time, within budget and the space was totally transformed. Our condo building management was so impressed with his professionalism and consideration that they now recommend him when others are looking for a contractor. Sean is a great communicator and we trusted him completely. He made the whole process enjoyable and the quality of the work was excellent!

It was done right, thoroughly, painstakingly at times! We are extremely happy with the results. After getting a few estimates, Sean's came in about 10-15% lower...and he had immediate design ideas that showed how skilled he is with working in old, quirky spaces. We more than doubled the size of a closet, now have a coffee bar, a window seat, and a versatile sitting/working space. Couldn't be happier. He was always aware of environmental impact, weighed with us the cost vs value of options, was completely OK that we wanted to research/choose the door, windows, flooring while also providing quality bids. Had strong opinions about quality/design, but was always willing to hear and modify the things we wanted. We had an appointment scheduled with Sean for an estimate on our project but he didn't show up at the scheduled time and didn't call us to cancel or reschedule the meeting. My husband was unable to reach him by phone and our call was not returned. All communications and scheduling of the appointment went quite smoothly, we were quite surprised by the no-show and also disappointed by the lack of consideration for our time. I'd like to give Sean the benefit of the doubt and assume that he didn't blow us off intentionally, but the lack of communication after the missed appointment has unfortunately left a negative impression.
