Screen Medic

I can't say enough about how happy I am to have found Screen Medic. I have procrastinated replacing window screens for several years because of the hassle and cost. Screen Medic is hassle free and reasonably priced. Chris came out to talk with me about the work I wanted done within a few days of contacting him. He left with the old screens that needed to be replaced and the door that needed a new screen. He also took measurements for a new screen door on the front of our house. Chris brought the window screens and the re-screened door back within a couple weeks. The new screens are better quality than the original screens were. I was very pleased with the work. We have resisted a screen door on our front entry thinking it wouldn't look right. However, we finally decided the extra airflow outweighed looks. The door that they built is beautiful. It adds rather than detracts from the look of the entry. It is a simple design made from a very nice cedar. Since Chad delivered and installed the door I have wished we would have done this years ago - it looks that nice! Chris was very responsive and kept me informed of the progress on my projects. Both Chris and Chad were friendly and professional. I enjoyed working with them and will call them with all future screen needs. I highly recommend this company. Cindy H

Although the recent reviews for customer service had been poor, we had a wonderful experience. Chad was responsive to our first request for a bid. We set up an appointment that was convenient for us and he came on time to provide the estimate. The estimate was detailed, itemized and complete. There were no hidden costs. Since we wanted to paint the trim and railing while the old screens were off, Chad agreed to come on a Friday to remove the old screen and return on Monday morning to complete the project, giving us the weekend to do the painting. All went just as we had planned. He came on Friday, we painted over the weekend, and he returned on Monday and put the new screen material and trim back on. It looks great! Couldn't be happier and would recommend Screen Medic without hesitation.

I contacted this service provider to set up an estimate. He is a bait and switch guy. He ad. $45 per screen repair. It takes four days for him to respond. He charges $50 for an estimate. Nowhere on his card does he state there is trip charge. Once he returned the call his prices had doubled and I believe that is false advertising and misleading marketing. I would never use this provider based on my first interaction.

Once we were able to get scheduled, the process went well. Very quick and efficient and cleaned up after themselves.

Spoke to Chad who seemed interested in our small project. I gave him all the details on the phone. He said he would be back to us very shortly with a date. Never heard back.

Left messages for Chad initially a few times before he returned our call. He said he was working on a big job. We had to order a part, once the part came in we have called repeatedly and get absolutely no response.

I thought it would go well and trusted them to follow up but they never did. If they do the work at your house, their prices are expensive because of the $125 minimum. But apparently they don't even want those little jobs at all, despite the premium price.

I called Screen Medic in Sept. about getting 2 screens repaired, and Chad said they'd be able to do it during the week of Oct. 7. He told me he'd send an email to let me know the exact day and time, since they don't/can't make exact appointments in advance. Monday, 10/7, arrived with no contact from Screen Medic. I called Chad that afternoon. He said their schedule was jumbled a bit due to some large projects. He wasn't in the office, but he said when he got back that evening, he would determine the schedule and let me know when my appt. would be. He thought they would still be able to do it that week. As of Thursday, 10/10, I still hadn't heard anything, so I emailed him to cancel the job completely. I understand that scheduling can be difficult due to unforeseen circumstances. However, it was the lack of communication that made me cancel. I had planned to use Screen Medic because I thought it would be convenient to have the repairs done at home (instead of having to bring my screens to a shop). But it's certainly NOT convenient if I have to keep calling and updating them about my schedule in hopes of getting on theirs. When I was looking for a screen-repair company, Screen Medic was at the top of the search results. So they've obviously invested in marketing. But I think they'd do better if they invested in some good, old-fashioned, professional service and common courtesy.

Went well, very professional. Scheduling was different. We didn't know when he was coming and all of a sudden he arrived unannounced. Happy with everything else.

Screen Medic did a fabulous job. I called to just have the porch re-screened since it had a large rip from an umbrella. Chad from Screen Medic told me about a new type of screen, Tuff Screen, which is more durable and has a UV protectant so it won't deteriorate as quickly. Chad left a sample of the Tuff Screen and we were sold. The screen is wonderful and looks great. I will definitely use Screen Medic in the future.

We called to schedule the work done. He said he would be out at 7:00 a.m. and it would take 15 min. He was on time and it was exactly 15 min. He did job and we wondered why we waited so long to get it fixed.

If you're going to be in business in the Twin Cities (and send direct mail to my house advertising your service), answer customer requests. It's that simple. I didn't even really need a quote since their website has a quoting tool....I was ready to schedule and pay.

Chad and I had a little miscommunication, since he didn't have my correct email. And, since he is in Minneapolis, his St. Paul dates were a little more difficult to schedule. However, the work done was great. My husband thought they were rather pricey for the size of our porch, though.

Chad and his company are fantastic. He presents a "can do" attitude and follows through. We have used Screen Medic a couple of times now and I highly recommend them.

When I called to schedule the appt i set the date for the following Wednesday when my husband would be home from work during the day. I got a confirmation email the following Monday with the wrong date and time in it. I emailed back and he corrected it to the original date and time we had talked about quickly enough. That date came and the appt was at 2:30. At 3:45 still no repair person and no phone call. I emailed them and got a call a few min later (not sure if it was related to my email or just coincidence) that they were running late and could be at my house in 15-20 min. My husband had to leave at 4:30 to pick up the kids so there wouldn't have been enough time to complete the repair by that point. He said he could still fix the screens and then leave them outside for us to re-install ourselves, but I didn't want us to do extra work because they were late by over an hour and a half with no phone call. I cancelled the appt and will be calling someone else.

Screen Medic made this one of the easiest home repair things I have ever done. They were able to come in the evening so I didn't have to leave work early, which was great. Chad was really nice, the repair was quick, and very reasonably priced for onsite service. I will definitely give them a call for any screen work.

I hired Screen Medic because they answered their phone on the second ring and it was the owner of the company. I told them I needed to have a patio screen repaired on a townhome I had listed in Cottage Grove. Chad told me to pick the day and time and he would make sure it was scheduled.They arrived as promised and made the repair to screen and also noticed we need a little "tuning" on the rollers and did that as well...I could not be more impressed with the service that they provided and will continue to promote their business.

Efficient & prompt

Everything went very well. This is definitely the way to go for screen repair. I was so impressed that I told the technician that I would give their name to my realtor.

I had a great experience with this company. I called to give them my information and they told me they would e mail me that Sunday with a day and time. Technician showed at the appointment time, did the work efficiently and was on his way. Ver friendly and prompt service.

I called them on Friday; they sent me an email on Sunday saying they would be out within a 30minute time frame today, and even though I wasn't home at the time - the job was completed, and they are comfortable with sending me a bill in the mail. The screen is tight and 'tuff', just like I ordered. I'm very pleased.

They came out and replaced the front screen door. I wasn't even home. They did any excellent job, took away the old screen and left no mess. I have recommended them to many of my friends.

I sent them an e-mail through their website over the weekend. I followed up with a phone call which was a good thing since my e-mail had apparently fallen through the cracks. I spoke directly to Chad, the owner, who apologized for the e-mail oversight. He did find my original e-mail and talked with me about what I wanted done. We were able to schedule an appointment for the following day. On April 4, a worker showed up on time at my home. Unfortunately, I do not remember his name but I have to say he was a very polite and professional young man. He very professionally removed my windows and screens, took the screens out to his truck parked in the parking lot, replaced all four, and was done within an hour. Remarkable. An excellent value and an excellent young man representing the company. I highly recommend Screen Medic.

The screens in my home were problematic for several reasons. In some cases the screen material was disintegrating within the frames, other screen frames were jammed and could not be removed, other were never installed because I could not get them to fit. Lastly, when I purchased the home, there was not a sliding screen for my sliding glass door for my deck. I called Chad at ScreenMedic and asked him to come out to the house, assess the situation and provide me with a quote. Chad arrived on the scheduled day and time and provided me with a quote to replace all of the screening material in all my screens, adjust all of the screens so that they can be easily removed from the windows and also measured for a new sliding screen. I agreed to the work and we scheduled a day for his tech to come to the house for the work. I was at work all day, but left a key for ScreenMedic. When I arrived home, all of the work had been completed and the windows look much better then they ever did before.
