Description of Work: Repair of trim on the front entrance of the house. It was a curved section which is very visible. Scheftel Construction took into consideration the detail of the house trim. The repair looks great.

Description of Work: Fixed a window frame on house and on garage, replaced a siding board on garage, secured a loose pole on house. He completed more work than I thought he would be able to do in the 4 hours, was agreeable, prompt, and helpful. I will probably contract with him again.

Description of Work: We have a 1911 bungalow and the wood from different soffits was rotting. The carpenter was able to reinforce the old wood without having to do a total redo of the wood itself. It is hard to find someone who knows how to work with older homes but it was clear that this carpenter had experience with it. I have already requested to use this company for other work on our home.

Description of Work: Steve removed my old deck, designed a new one and created it. He did a great job! I had a time deadline and he met it. He and his crew were professional and polite. I will definitely hire him again!

Description of Work: We purchased the 4 hours of carpentry labor for $149. Steve was hired to replace two porch posts in our entry and help with rebuilding the railing if there was time. He came a little early and got right to work. He stayed beyond his time frame to ensure the railing was completely installed also. I was able to assist him and he appreciated the extra hand. His amount of experience was evident in the way he was able to use timesavers I may not have thought about.

Description of Work: Scheftel Construction offered 4 hours of work for $149 for wood rot repair. We have not been able to connect to have the work done. I work and my husband travels. It was a constant game of phone tag. He showed up and left a card in the door without calling and didn't look around to see what work needs to be done. I asked for a refund and he told me to call Angie's List directly for the refund. Since then, I reached out to other companies through Angie's List to get the work done.

Description of Work: They did exactly as promised. Very happy with their work.

Description of Work: They carefully cut out the rotted end pieces on the deck & replaced them w/ new wood. The new boards were screwed in place & caulked. The work area was carefully cleaned up. Both men were very polite & punctual. We would definately use Steve Scheftel again.

Description of Work: I had had new windows installed and needed my window blinds reinstalled. he took the time to do a solid job (they weighed a ton) and even suggested a couple of securing techniques that made the re-installation more secure.

Description of Work: I bought the 2 hour handyman service deal. Steve installed a ceiling fan for me. While I was happy he finished the job, I was thinking it wouldn't take the full 2 hours as I was hoping he could get to a couple of other things as well. Overall, I am glad to have the fan in and Steve was a nice guy and easy to work with.

Description of Work: Handyman services, leveled a screen door, fixed two windows that would not stay open, and leveled the dishwasher door. Everything was fixed to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: Replaced wooden window sills that had extensive water damage. |Was told by a different contractor that "Entire" window had to be replaced

Description of Work: Replaced a lot of rotten deck boards and 3 hand made built in benches. They did a fantastic job.

Description of Work: Replaced the rooting wood around the back door. Also showed us how to prevent further rotting in the future. Because there was still time, he hung a cabinet for us that we had been trying to hang/have someone hang for several weeks.
