Welcome to Scheftel Construction! Scheftel Construction is a small but full-service construction company located in south Minneapolis. We provide skilled craftsmanship and reliable service for projects ranging from home repair and remodeling to commercial projects. We specialize in vintage home maintenance and remodeling. Whether you want to create an addition or a deck, remodel a bathroom or a kitchen, or need help with outdoor trim or roof repairs, patching a ceiling, or any of those many things that always need fixing in an older house, we can help you. Our wood shop can create custom woodworking and millwork to match your existing trim and woodwork, and our portable sawmill provides custom-cut local wood — wood from the urban forest — that can be used for trim, custom built-ins, wooden counters, furniture and other special projects. Wood from the urban forest means lumber sawn from trees in the metro area that are dead or have been downed by storms, or trees that have been cut by tree services — wood that might otherwise go to waste or be chipped or sold for firewood. There is an amazing variety of wood growing in and around the Twin Cities. In addition to standbys like red oak, white oak and ash, we offer unusual — and more dramatic — woods, like black walnut, red elm, cherry, honey locust, spalted maple, clear spruce and more. Description of Work: I had some drywall work that needed to be done. Given the nature of the work, it couldn't be fully completed in two hours as the plaster was not fully dry to sand. As such, the project needs to be completed by me, the homeowner. Not sure a two-hour ($99) contract works for this kind of maintenance. Contractor also left a mess. I was okay with that since he got most of the work done.

Description of Work: I used an Angies List deal for two hours of drywall repair. I just had a small hole under a toilet that need to be replaced and patched. The guy was there a week early, arrived on time for the appointment and did way more than I asked him to , which was a pleasant surprise. Would use them again.

It went just fine!
Description of Work: Provider removed a "chunk" of drywall from the west wall of my garage and replaced it, "spackled" the seams with joint compound. He was very nice and polite and I'm pleased with the repair.

Description of Work: Steve did a terrific job in replacing the rotted wood moldings in our exterior front entry. This is a 1928 duplex and he created new moldings that matched perfectly! I used him again to replace rotted facia wood in our garage. Steve is prompt, courteous, and communicates well. He is a skilled craftsman with excellent attention to detail.
