You have the details above. He was not particularly polite. It seemed difficult for him to compehend the repairs when I pointed them out. I had to repeat several times.He scoffed when I reminded him that I had asked for two specific repairs by phone which he had indicated he could do for me. He had an errand at Home Depot so he did inquire there about the faucet and called me with that information However. I felt he did not do $59.00 nor two constructive hours of work for me. Much time was wasted.

I had no issues scheduling the work. The service was good. He changed some light fixtures, installed a hand railing and did other odd jobs for me.

We met with Mr. Scheftel twice. Once to show him the kitchen, take measurements, and listened to our ideas. He asked questions that pulled information from us that he needed, and caused my wife and I to think about other options. In the second meeting he presented his design. He was punctual for both meetings. We now have a start and some ideas on how to move forward with our project.

I wrote a bad review and Steve Scheftel responded that "why are the cabinets i built still in the kitchen " and that I was unreasonable and a bad customer. not so. he was in WAY over his head. The fact is, nothing hat he did other than demolition has been saved in my kitchen. His cabinets and "peninsula" had to be torn our and rebuilt. sub-standard. None of his building work was salvageable. He took the job knowing my timeline and changed his availability and made excuses after. He seems to be adequate at small handyman repairs but he is far from a cabinet maker or someone that does custom work.

He show up on time and got to work. He did great job. I would hire him again.

The rod and pictures were hung to my complete satisfaction.

Steve did an excellent job. He was very cost conscientious for us as we looked at the water damage on what needed to be torn out versus what just needed time to dry out. I was ready to tear much of it out and he suggested we give it time as it would likely be just fine and save a bunch of money. Steve artistically designed the hardwood flooring around the fireplace and thoughtfully considered our questions and opinions to come up with the final design.

It went very well. The individual showed up promptly. He stayed for the full 4 hours to do the job. It looks better than I hoped for. It was a complete and well performed job. Exceeded expectations. I was quite happy with it.

He is a great man. He came in, on time, did what he said he was going to do, and exceeded my expectations.

Some of the work needed to be completed in an unheated garage and therefore needed to be rescheduled twice due to cold weather. He was on time and completed what he could on the list of items.

We had two things on our "to-do" list for Steve, that we thought an experience handyman could finish in the 4 hour timeframe of the Big deal. 1. Hang crown moulding in a perfectly square 11 x 11 dining room. There is nothing unique or complicated about this room, four straight walls, the easiest thing for crown moulding. 2. Install a closet door. We had the rough opening and everything else. Easy as well. Unfortunately, Steve only got to hanging the crown moulding ? it took 4 hours for 4 pieces to be hung! I was nearly in shock. And after looking at it when it was finally finished, the angle in which it lays is totally different from the the adjacent living room and all other rooms in our home. I'm not sure if we bought the wrong stuff or if it was installed wrong. Either way, when Steve was hanging it, he didn't mention how different the angle was and how strange it looks. I was shocked. Also, I knew we'd have one seam in the moulding and I specifically told hime where I wanted it (in the corner) and he didn't put it there, it's right above our windows, the focal point. And the seam is not smooth, I'm not sure any amount of putty will smooth it out. I was pretty frustrated about the amount of time it was taking, and no word from him on why it took so long. I'm frustrated that we only got one thing off the list done, as I'm sure almost any experienced handyman could have tackled both projects in the time allowed. And the finished work is bad, I'm considering having it redone, by someone else. So sadly, it was a waste of time and money.

It went great! Excellent service. The guy was friendly, cooperative, on time, and did the work we needed to have done. He did a super job. I highly recommend him. We will use him again in the future!

We called Steve to step in and help with a project that we realized we did not have the skill or time for. We had removed all the baseboards and door trim in a room that we were preparing for the arrival of our first baby. After attempting to replace it ourselves in the eighth month, we realized we needed help. We purchased a deal on Angie's List for 4 hours of work for $99. Steve was booked a few weeks out. He came on time on the scheduled date. Right away, Steve suggested some additional work to file down an old paint line in order to have a nicer finished product. It was definitely the right thing to do. He worked with the materials we provided him which were definitely not the hightest quality but he made them look really nice. He stayed over the 4 hours without charging us extra so that the job could get finished. We will definitely use Steve again in the future.

He did an amazing job. He worked quickly and efficiently. It was great to see the repair list get whittled down so fast!

The service worked out okay. We kind of messed up with the schedule to start with but when he got out he was able to work with what I needed done. He was very professional and he was right on time when he said to.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It wasn't the best. It was for $99 for 4 hours of work. He brought someone with him so they were here for about 2 hours. They were supposed to fix a drawer and didn't get it done. They left gates open, they were supposed to unstick some windows that I had and those were left undone, and screens left off. They were replacing a dryer vent outside and when I went there afterwards because the owner of the place took out quicker than the gentlemen he had here with him. I went out there and he knocked the part of the playhouse that was there that he had to move to get at it, and left things laying all over the place, with some of his tools and garbage there. This is my first experience with Angie's List. You certainly didn't check this guy out.

Excellent job. Steve arrived early so I could show him my To Do list. Everything was done very well and efficiently. Steve was friendly but unobtrusive while working; he even pointed out a misaligned cabinet door I hadn't noticed and then he fixed it. Will definitely hire again!

He first listened to my needs, made some suggestions, then completed all the projects very quickly.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They came when they said they were coming and they did what they said they were going to do. I paid $99 for 4 hours for one person. They didn't ask for anything more. There were 2 of them so it was 2 for 2 hours. They brought 2 in so they got it done faster. There wasn't anything that stuck out as particularly good. The price was fine and it worked good. They were on time. If they wouldn't have smoked, I think they would have been fine. I am allergic to smoke, but other than that, it was fine.

I bought that for my sister because she needed to have a bunch of light fixtures switched out and to be perfectly honest, he took a very, very long time. I wouldn't use him again because she had to pay an additional hour that cost her another $99 just for it. He was very slow, this is just replacing light fixtures that were already there and it took him an hour and a half to replace one light underneath a cabinet. What I wanted him to do, she had all these new light fixtures and all he had to do is switch out the old ones for the new ones and I called her about midway through thinking he'd probably almost done and she said it took him an hour and a half to do that under cabinet light. Obviously he wasn't going to getting done anytime too soon so by the end of the day, she told me she had to pay him for another hour. He installed a new smoke detector, replace the smoke detector that was already there and then he replaced 5 fixtures total but he was working by himself and I think he just was very slow. She said he was a nice guy but she just thought that he worked very slowly, she actually had more things that she wanted him to do in that time frame and she ended up paying another hour just to have him install those light fixtures so she had some cabinet hardware that she wanted to have it installed. I guess in our mind we just thought that it took him a long time just to replace fixtures, he didn't have to drill a new holes, he didn't have to add new outlets, he didn't have to do anything other than swap out old fixtures for new ones.

It was a wonderful experience. They were very friendly and very helpful. I was kind of embarrassed because I didn’t have more significant job for them to do but they were very happy doing what I wanted them to do even though it was a trivial, it was good to have them here.

Steve contacted us in a timely manner after our purchase; we played a bit of phone tag but found a time that worked. Steve and another worked arrived and got to work right away taking out two old toilets and replacing them with new ones. Technically since there were two working, they should have only been there 2 hours (per coupon guidelines). However, they stayed a little longer than that finishing up the job and didn't charge us for it. We appreciated that. Their clean-up was less than to be desired, leaving lots of silicone on toilet/around the toilet. However, thus far the toilets have been working properly with no issues or leaking, so overall we are satisfied with the service.

Installed new service door in garage.Did a great job, cleaned up after work was done and hauled away old door. Very satisfied.
