Scheftel Construction

When Steve came out on the original visit it was to put a new shelf in my pantry. Even though I found the right cabinet maker, all the drawers had been changed for the better but did not just slide in to the pantry. After inspection of the new drawer and no instructions to follow I thought it best to get some professional help. Of course, I looked at Angie's List to find someone to help and called Scheftel Construction with a great deal of four hours work for a nominal price. Steve himself came out that day and took charge. He surveyed the cabinet and drawer and figured out how to put it in. I am very glad I did not try to do it myself as it took accuracy in being level, etc.,, to make the drawer work nicely and it does. Steve is very nice and does a great job. After he was done with the drawer he asked me if I had another two hours of work for him and at the time I could not come up with anything. He asked me if he could put the other two hours out there for when I needed help with something else. A few weeks ago one of my pocket doors was knocked off the track and I could not get it back on the track myself. I called Steve and although he is very busy, he told me when he would be back out in the area and he would come by and take care of it. He has a crew out in my area this week and he had John come over and take care of the door. John was very professional and friendly and fixed the door and showed me exactly what to do in case it happened again. I thank Steve for following up on my other two hours and will be using him again in the future.

The service took a little longer to complete than initially thought, but the carpenters were professional and friendly, and did a great job. The walnut piece over our front entry is beautiful, and has significantly added to our house's curb appeal. We will certainly call Steve again if we have any need for exterior woodwork.

Steve called me back right away and was able to fit me in the next day. He was punctual and did a nice job with the repairs.

He did a really good job installing my bi-fold doors and I really liked the way he communicated with me via messages on Angie's List also.I would definitely hire him again.

iIt went very well. I was unavoidably detained on the day the repair was scheduled, and called Steve's cell to let him know I would be at our house close to the appointed time, and that he could go ahead and get started. When we arrived, he had done so, and I was glad of that. The damage to the house was, fortunately, not as extensive as it could have been (given we'd let it go for a couple years), and Steve had materials (and called his assistant to bring more) that would cover the job. He removed the rotted clapboard and trim, covered the (dry, thank goodness) insulation with plywood and waterproof tarpaper, then finished by replacing the old clapboard with some nice new cedar boards. He and his assistant finished the whole thing by applying some primer, protecting their work until I could get some paint. The whole experience was good, start to finish. The weather cooperated, too.

It was phenomenal - more than you could (should?) hope for from a discounted service off an Angie's List deal. I really appreciate his skill, courtesy and work ethic, and his respect for my $, by not unnecessarily removing good wood and using paint and materials that didn't cost additional. I don't know where the option is to designate a "page of happiness," but would gladly do so here. Totally unexpected A++ experience.

This was a special deal for 4 hours of work. We wanted to ask his opinion on the facia in addition to fixing a couple of things, but he walked around the house, said he would have to rip out all the gutters to fix all the facia and the facia alone would cost around $3,400.00, did not leave a written estimate, got in his vehicle and left. His attitude was terrible and neither of us want to hire him. I want my money back frankly. Cl;early he did not want to do the work. So since that's not going to happen, I want to give him 4 hours of something to do because we paid for it, and then never hire him again.

Great for us! Not so much for him. I got the date wrong when I scheduled with him, and he showed up on time, but two days earlier than i was expecting. He waited while I booked it home in a cab, and then completed the job in the time he had left. he was friendly to our cats, which is huge with me for anyone who comes into our home. I honestly don't remember what I paid, but I don't regret a penny. I am thrilled with the patience and professionalism he showed us.

He called to let me know he doesn't service my area. He was polite when I spoke with him. I am getting a refund through Angie's List.

He replaced rotting wood sideboards/trim on both sides of the garage door. He did a thorough, good job. He even replaced my damaged plastic weather stripping around both sides of my garage door. I'm very happy with the results.

Our project ended up being bigger than what the coupon offered. They did promptly contact us and they were very friendly. I would definitely use them in the future.

Professional and excellent work. It was raining the morning I had the work scheduled to be done but we went around the house discussing what needed to be done. The work was finished as soon as the weather cleared up a few days later and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I'm definately considering them for a few more projects I need to do on the house.

Scheftel Construction is very nice and knowledgeable. He figured out how to install the drawer, got it in there perfect and everything was good.

At this time we have decided to hold off on this project but will keep this company in mind for the future.

I highly recommend Steve Scheftel of Scheftel Construction! He is professional, hard working,and courteous. He showed up early both times we have had him come out to do work for us and the quality of his work is fantastic; you can tell he has been in the building profession for 20+ years. We are having Steve come back later this month to repair some dog damaged doors for us (Ah! The joys of puppies and dogs!) and to replace one them. Our house goes on the market July 1st and I'm sure we will be calling on Steve, yet again, to help us with anything else these two very unhandy people cannot handle!

We called for the free estimate and Steve, the owner, replied within 24 hrs. He was prompt with our estimate and showed creativity and confidence that our wishes could be achieved within our budget. His carpenter was very prompt and approachable throughout the project. He took time to explain things to us and make changes if we asked. Throughout the project, it was clear to us that Steve and Mark"s goal was to make sure that we were happy....and we are. The bathroom is beautiful. I would highly recommend Scheftel Construction to anyone who is looking for a reasonable, fair and dependable contractor. We will be using his services again.

Steve showed up on time, asked me to give him a little overview of what I wanted done and then he went to work. He worked for the full 2 hours that I bought the big deal for and I thought his work was good! I would use him again in the future when needs arise.
