Explained the whole process. Took apart parts of the furnace not cleaned by the last furnace repair service. Knew, in detail all about our particular furnace.

Everything works great. Sayler is very responsive and professional. Shane Sayler is a very honest and hardworking man, and I would trust him with all my AC projects. In fact, we are talking about a garage ventilation system as we speak.
Description of Work: We have a 1928 vintage house, that was gutted to the studs. The house was fitted with a high velocity AC system, but was done poorly: air was not circulating correctly and the handler was not working right. We hired Saylor for the job. They replaced the compressor and the exchanger, and the system now works more efficiently and quietly. Sayler also installed some ceiling fans in all our bathrooms.

Very smooth installation. Only hitch was we had a verbal conversation about adding a humidifier on the furnace, which didn't end up in the contract. But they added it without losing much time at all, and the cost was reasonable. Its a year later now and we love having a quiet furnace and less dust (we had radiators before, so appreciate having forced air with a filter). And the AC didn't raise the electric bill that much.
Description of Work: Replaced furnace, humidifier and AC, and added ducts for new rooms.

We needed a brand new furnace and central air. Our air conditioning unit needed to be moved to a new location, which seemed complicated to us, but he made it easy. Paul is a great communicator. His crew was great.

His bid was great. He helped us navigate the rebates available through the manufacturer and the city of St. Louis Park. He pointed out things that others didn't. We dragged out feet a little bit and he wasn't annoyed with us. Great service. His bid was the best value for the best equipment. Not cheaped out and not the most expensive. The people that installed everything were "normal". He followed up to make sure we were happy. I'd feel very confidant recommending them.

Sayler was wonderful! Very professional. Quality work for a very reasonable cost. The scheduling was exactly as we agreed. The crew was punctual and professional. Also very kind and thoughtful. For example, if they were somewhere else in the house other than the basement, they took their shoes off. They were here for two days; a journeyman, Mike, and his apprentice, Tyler. I practically didn't know they were here. The first day they installed the furnace and the returns for the first floor and basement. The second day (Mike was here alone w/o his apprentice) Mike installed the supply and return to the second floor. It was a difficult job and he did a fabulous job. The house was relatively clean when he left considering what he had done. Just a small amount of cleaning was required. Sayler called after the job was complete to schedule the appointment with the inspector. When the inspector came, he told me he loves Sayler because their work is always impeccable. He pointed out a couple of instances of their work that he considered excellent craftsmanship. He said, ...."of 10 contractors only one (Sayler) would have that kind of craftsmanship....." I am very pleased with their work. When I received their invoice, it came in a packet along with all of the paperwork required for the rebates that this furnace will get me from both CenterPoint Energy and Xcel Energy. They filled out all of their portions of the paperwork completely and supplied me with copies of invoices and other certificates I needed to get the rebates. Sayler also has maintenance contracts if I choose to sign up for them. I would use Sayler again in a heartbeat. When the AC goes in my house, they will be the company I call.
Description of Work: Old furnace was replaced and new one connected to existing AC unit. House only had one cold air return from a previous octopus furnace. This return was replaced by two new returns on the first floor and one in the basement. A new supply and a new return were run to the second floor (none existed before). New programmable thermostat was also installed.

The estimator came out promptly to help me size and configure the unit I wanted and they type of venting. Because I do woodworking in the garage (lots of fine sawdust) I needed a sealed combustion chamber (about $1000 more than installing a unit that burns the air from the garage). The installer worked with me in deciding the location and orientation of the heater, as well as all the runs to the unit (electrical, thermostat, gas, air intake, exhaust). The work was neat and professional. The installer checked everything with instruments (gas pressure, air flow, etc.) The work was done in less than a day. The contractor came back when the unit was inspected by the city. There were no problems. I like my new heater.
Description of Work: Sayler installed a Hot Dawg 60,000 btu sealed combustion chamber natural gas heater in my attached garage.

Great. I found them through Angie's List. They responded quickly and, after coming by to review the space etc., provided a detailed estimate with options I requested. Their pricing was lower than the 4 other quotes I'd received so I asked for some clarifications just to be sure I was comparing apples to apples. My questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. I confirmed that they are on the approved installer list with my utility company and checked for any BBB complaints just in case. Everything checked out fine. Installers arrived on time and spent an entire long day removing the old furnace and a/c and installing new. The old furnace and a/c were installed in 1974 and 1964 so there were LOTS of code issues that had to be anticipated - they couldn't just swap machine in and out. But they knew exactly what had to be done to ensure the installation met the tough St. Louis Park code. They had to route new line thought the garage ceiling, replace a fuse box outside, etc. etc. there were a lot of changes needed. This was all included in their quote -- no attempt to add on special charges. They even corrected a couple items that were unrelated without charge. The work was approved by the city inspectors (electrical and mechanical) with no problem or recommendations for change. The SLP inspectors are thorough so I am impressed and It is clear they the installers are pros. They removed the old items and left the place spotless. They mailed me the receipts and all of the rebate forms with the model etc pre filled and with envelopes to help me get rebates from my utility companies. There are several different rebates that add up. I highly recommend Sayler Heating and Air Conditioning.

I felt that they were very responsive as far as returning phone calls and setting up the appointment. Tony (the field supervisor) is who we dealt with and he and the technician were very nice. They were good about explaining what needed to be done and itemizing what really needed to be done to solve our problem, rather than trying to sell us too much stuff. They were very honest and provided a good diagnosis of the problem at a reasonable price.

Tony, the sales rep. was fabulous. He responded to our request for an estimate within 24 hours and was able to provide an estimate and several suggestions about what would work best for us. Jim, the installer, was unreal. Professional, personable, a perfectionist, etc. His work was flawless. He explained everything he did and how to best use all of the items. Afterwards we noticed some dents on our 2 week old dryer that were inadvertently put in when the dryer vent was being installed. We almost hated to report it because everyone was so great to work with. We contacted Tony and he said that they would order and install a new dryer top. They did exactly as Tony said he would. The top is repaired. Everything is working great. We have never had a better working experience with any contractor. Amazing! We would highly recommend them.

The original start date had to be moved out due to several 100+ degree days and work started the following week (June 15, 2011). Due to the heat, we agreed to be up early in the morning and the crew started work at~6:45AM and left early. The crew was dressed in Sayler shirts and jeans, were punctual, cleaned up after themselves and completed the equipment install in 2 days. The drywall / carpentry team completed the drywall, mudding, trim and paint within a week. Shane provided all the documentation we needed to apply for and get our energy rebate and register the units with Lennox. The entire Sayler team was a pleasure to work with -- they were respectful of our home and our time. Our system was not the least expensive option, but the system is quiet, out of sight and cools our home perfectly. I enthusiastically recommend Sayler Heating and Air to my friends and family.
Description of Work: I contacted Sayler Heating and Air in May 2011 as part of getting quotes to install a "whole house air conditioning system" for our home built in 1927. Tara, the office manager was friendly and scheduled an onsite quote within 2 days. Shane Sayler came for the walk through on time and we discussed options to have "central air" even though our home didn't have a duct system (hot water radiator heat). Unlke other heat/air companies that kept quoting only modular units in each room (because they are "less expensive" and easier to install), Shane recommended a Lennox14ACX Air Condenser with a CBX32MV Air Handling Unit with variable speed motor to be installed in our attic to cool our 2 story 2,100 sq ft home (including finished basement). As part of the work, we also had Sayler coordinate a carpenter / drywall team to come in and finish an 18" X 18" corner of our guest bedroom where a duct ran from the 2nd story attic to a attic space over our 1st floor addition.

We couldn't have been more pleased. I'm very picky about getting good work done, was worried about an expensive install that wouldn't work very well over the long haul, and feel absolutely confident that the job was done just as it should have been done.
Description of Work: My wife and I had home air conditioning installed in a 1906 house that has a hot-water radiator heating system. The job was a difficult one - no obvious way to run ductwork between floors and a very difficult and cramped attic space. The guys working were fantastic - mike, the main guy, stayed on the job steadily for a full seven days to see it through from beginning to end. Everything is done to the highest standards of workmanship. I'd had bids from other outfits that struck me as both too high and too low - and only Sayler offered a clear plan for the work.

It went great. They came out and gave me an estimate. They started on time, and finished a bit later than expected, just because of the heat in the dead of the summer in the crawl spaces on the 3rd floor. It works great. It has take the musty smell out of the old house, and cools down the house very efficiently.
Description of Work: They installed central AC into our 100 year old house. They put the vent work on the third floor, and cleverly hid it by building a daybed and a booth. They were very professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and respectful.

Excellent, if brief, experience overall. When our a/c actually does break and it's time to install a new one, we'll be sure to call him. Very personable and compassionate toward new homeowners who have no idea what we're doing.
Description of Work: We weren't sure whether the central a/c in our home was working. Mr. Sayler came to the property and looked at the a/c and at the rest of our house. He adjusted some vents to redirect the airflow. That was all it took, and he wouldn't accept any money for making the trip!

Terrific! We had Ryan come, who was, as always, courteous and professional. This is the second year they have done maintenance for us. We also have them do our AC maintenance in the spring, but that was already done and so is not included in the cost amount listed above. They have always answered our questions, and even came out at no charge to check out our system when we were worried about something (turned out to be nothing). We have an annual arrangement with them. We did not find them through Angie's List, but wanted to make sure they have a good report from us for the good work they do.

Fantastic! They came to see us on a Monday, and were able to come on Wed to replace the furnace - the prompt service was especially important because we had lost our furnace in the middle of January. They did the whole job, tearing out the old furnace/ac and installing the new system, in one 8 hour shift. They were polite and professional, and were careful about not leaving a mess behind. We have been extremely please with the furnace they installed.
