The owner/contractor wasn't afraid to present his quotation on the first interview and make a presentation of exactly what he intended to do and materials for that price. All others (4) wanted to wait until the insurance adjuster was on site to even make measurements to prepare a bid. I was offended by that approach. However , a single line item issue in the quote that rotten or warped roof sheathing boards that they found under the existing shingles to be replaced would add $3.50 a square foot should have been vocalized in the interview because that became an expensive surprise.
