The quality of the work was first rate. On time, fast, friendly installer (not the owner, btw). Our only issue is when told about two fresh gouges in our walls that we had just finished painting, the owner said,"That's what happens in a construction zone." While I see his point, the tone of the response was off-putting. I had labored for days patching, filling, and sanding those darn walls, and now have quarter and dime-size gouges to fix. I would've appreciated a sincere, "Sorry," at least.

They were refinished when we were out of town and we came home to beautiful floors. You can't see any areas where the old floor was warn or any difference in coloring. They look brand new! We are very happy with the floors!

We received bids from three companies to sand and refinish the hardwoods in our newly purchased home. Jeff gave us his detailed, written bid on the spot (the other companies provided a same-day phone bid, and a 2-days-later email bid). He recommended a highly durable satin finish since we have two small children and a small dog. Prices were very similar between the three companies, but we ended up going with Renewed Hardwood Floors because they specialize in the job we needed to have done, and their Angie's List reviews were very good. We had a three week window between when we closed on the home and when we were scheduled to move in, and Jeff had no issues accommodating the time frame. Jeff and his crew showed up on day 1 right on time and took care to tape off entrances to other hallways/rooms with plastic to reduce the amount of dust that escaped into the rest of the house. Jeff requested 50% of our payment on day 1 and the remainder upon job completion. Since we hadn't moved into the home yet, we gave Jeff a key so the guys could come and go as needed throughout the 5-day job. Jeff was great about keeping us informed about any concerns they had (i.e. they had to bump up the heat in the house to ensure that the coats would dry properly each day, and brought in box fans to speed up the drying process since the work was done during a rainy week in late April). They removed the floor vents and sanded/refinished them separately in the garage so that they wouldn't become stuck to the floor. When the job was done we were extremely impressed with the results. After 30 years of wear and tear (with some really badly worn spots), we were skeptical of how the floors would turn out, but they look brand new and all signs of old wear are completely gone. We've been in the house a month and love the look of our "new" floors! When it comes time to refinish the floors in our rental home we will definitely give these guys a call - excellent work!

I had scheduled a different contractor who didn't show up. I had moved out all the furniture and had another contractor coming in to build a banquette, so I needed the floor done ASAP. In a panic, I called Renewed Hardwood Floors, and they took pity on me and got a crew out that SAME DAY. They did amazing work--incredibly detail oriented, very thorough, and professional. The floors look fantastic--like new. They cleaned everything up and we don't have any dust or even evidence that they were here. They were adding my job onto one that they were already completing that day, so they had to stay late to get it done, but they did it without complaint and with a friendly, can-do attitude. I would highly recommend this company!

Jeff responded promptly to my call, and quickly came out to give us an estimate. He arranged to have the work done the following week. One of his employees showed up to do the work at the scheduled hour both days, and did an excellent job. My only small criticism was that I thought the communication during the project could have been slightly better, as I had to make a couple of calls to Jeff to clear up some questions I had, such as when we could safely walk on the floor or put furniture back on it. But that being said, we are very happy with the results and wouldn't hesitate to use the company's services again in the future.

The owner was prompt in calling me back, and gave me an accurate estimate over the phone. They were able to schedule me a bout a week out. The crew was on time each day, were very friendly, and answered all my questions. Everything went the way they described. They sanded and put on 3 coats of an oil-based polyurethane finish. If I was to do it over, I would arrange to have the family out of the house because of the fumes, but we worked around it. My wife and I are very happy with the results, and believe it was a good value.

From start to finish, we were very impressed with the work and service provided. The floors look beautiful, the service was performed in a timely and efficient manner from when the bid was given. I would highly recommend this company.

We needed the hardwood floors in three bedrooms and a hallway sanded and refinished. All three of the contractors who gave us quotes for the job were close in price. We decided on Jeff of Renewed Hardwood Floors. We cannot say enough about his knowledge of hardwood floors; his professionalism; his promptness; and his efficiency. When the job was completed Jeff gave us a lot of good information on the caring of our hardwood floors. It was a pleasure working with Jeff of Renewed Hardwood Floors and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

The communication was wonderful! I got a call with an update each day and was always kept in the loop. The scheduling was amazing and they were able to start right away as compared to other companies who were scheduling months out. The price was the best I could find and they were able to work around our busy schedule.....a huge bonus! I would use this company again anytime!

2nd time we used them in two months time. Just like first time--- punctual, excellent job, good price. These guys will be our first call whenever we need flooring or floor work. They also repaired a section of flooring in our library mezzanine which another company had botched. They fabricated the transitions and made new heat registers covers and stained to match everything.

We got three bids.... One was $13,000, one was $7,500, and Jeff's was $6700. He came quicker to give his estimate, gave his estimate right there on the spot, could start the job quicker than the others, had the best price, and showed up prompt to the minute every time he or his men came. There were no surprises or delays and he delivered exactly what he promised. The floor is absolutely gorgeous and everyone who had seen the previous ruined solid hardwood floor says Jeff's floor looks much better than the one it replaced. We are having him come back to resurface a floor in another room and recommend him highly. Professional, no BS, as quoted, and in and out quick! Cleaned up after themselves. Wish more contractors were like Renewed!

My initial conversation with Jeff Kroh, owner, was very helpful and professional. He got all the details, then told me he was available for the time period I wanted. He then made an appointment to look at the job and give me an estimate. Jeff showed up on time and estimated the job quite quickly. He took the time to answer all my questions and give recommendations. Jeff had told me he would start on a Monday, but because that was Thanksgiving week, and he wanted to get me into my new house ASAP, he instead started on Saturday. He pulled out all the old carpeting and prepped the subflooring that day so that they could start installing hardwood on Monday. His team was completely finished in a week, which was exactly what he had estimated. He cleaned up the whole main floor, vacuuming and washing everything. Even the basement was vacuumed and cleaned in case there was any sawdust. Jeff and his people did a terrific job. I would highly recommend him.

My floors look brand new! it was done at the time they promised, and the result was amazing. I asked for a jar of floor polish to to uch up the floor, if needed, and it was brought to me on a Sunday, less than 24 hours after I asked. That is impressive service!!! All this at a very competitive price. Good people!!

They sanded and refinished the hardwood floors in 5 rooms plus a hallway. They were punctual, polite, and efficient. I thought they did a great job and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Scheduling was fast, Jeff was punctual, and very professional. The work was done on time and he left things very clean. Overall, most of the floor looks beautiful. There were some problems as this was a manufactured floor that did not have a lot of hardwood on top for refinishing. There were three or four places where the sanding went through to the plywood and it appears like a dark stain. Some spots are minor, one is quite large and noticeable. I understand that this is a problem refinishing this type of floor, but I'd think there here needs to be a plan to do something to minimize the bad appearance when it happens. (I've done some woodworking and if I had been doing this myself, I would have tried a wash of diluted paint over the darker area to at least lighten it some before the urethane was applied.) But, compared to how it looked before refinishing, it is a great improvement.

Spectacularly. The floors look amazing--even areas where there was darkness from water, dirt and heavy wear were renewed. Jeff and his workers were on time, meticulous and very professional. I had taken up the quarter round prior to their work--and when they were done, decided to not even put it down--the floors looked that good--right up to the trim.

I had all the floors refinished and they all look pretty good. My only problem was under the bricks on the fireplace were not done. After job was finished they said they couldn't fix this area. They said it looks like a shadow, but to me it looks like an area they forgot to do.

They did a good job. They accommodated me living in the house while they did the work. They were attentive to my concerns. I would recommend. They used low VOC chemicals.

Some back and forth about color matching was a bit of a hassle, but the guys at my house were nice and we ended up with a great color that matches other wood we wanted to match. There are a couple places where grooves are visible, so maybe not the best sanding job in the history of the world but still nice. Overall, though, a tough job given the paint and various obstacles, and the price was the best of all estimates we got. We might use them again.

He came exactly when he said he would and figured out how the wood floor and the tile would meet. It turned out great and everyone who sees it comments on how great it all looks.

They did an excellent job. They are very knowledgable. They put on 3 coats instead of 2. They use quality products. It has been a year now and the floor still looks amazing.

It went really well. Someone stopped by on Saturday and we gave him a key to our new house. He applied three coats by Tuesday morning and they look beautiful!

We moved all the furniture out and left for vacation. Unbeknownst to us, Jeff sent another guy over to do the work. The other guy decided that our floor was a laminate and that he couldn't do the job. (Jeff had obviously already been here, and determined the floor was NOT a laminate.) Because we weren't at home, I had no way of checking the specifics of our floor, and assumed somehow things had gotten confused. When we got home, we found out that he had left up all of the "dust protection" covers around the house, and when we removed some, they took paint off of the wall. I also found that down in our crawl space, we had some extra boards from our original floor which were WOOD, not laminate. Plus, now we had a 2x4 area of our floors with 5 samples of stain! When I called Jeff, he wasn't particularly apologetic, but did assure me that he would have the other guy come out and restain the sample area to match our existing floor. Well, he did come out, but the area does NOT match the existing floor. I am currently in the process of finding someone else to come do the work. I've waited this long because the whole experience was a NIGHTMARE. But in the meantime, I saw lots of glowing reviews of Jeff's work and thought I should add my two cents. I did try to contact him a few times to see if he would like to complete the work HIMSELF and maybe give a discount because of all the hassle, but he never called me back. I think next time I will NOT go for the cheapest quote!

The floors in our family room are beautiful. The plywood subfloor and 2 1/4in. red oak hardwood were put in on Monday. On Tuesday, the floor was sanded and sealer was applied. On Wednesday and Thursday the 2 coats of poly were applied. The guys did a great job.

Our floor is absolutely beautiful, we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. And the service is very efficient and professional.
