Over the last 30 years, we have had hardwood floors redone in several different homes, and so we knew about the process. We are well informed -and fussy- customers. From start to finish, Renewed Hardwood Floors exceeded our expectations in all aspects of the job. Jeff Kroh was prompt when he came to give us an estimate and kept his promised start date. During the job, he was meticulously thorough, extremely neat and careful. After getting started, he replaced several boards and patched several areas (repairs that are now nearly undetectable on the finished floor) that he determined were necessary so that the job would be done to his satisfaction and ours--- and he did so at no additional charge. He wanted the job done right just as much as we did. He was respectful of our home, of our time, and with his employees. He went the extra mile in more than one regard. He made sure he stuck to his schedule, always kept us informed, and made himself available during and after the job in case any questions or issues arose (they didn't). He was always professional and cordial; he was responsive and enthusiastic in all of our dealings, but was never intrusive. We were a bit worried that several areas of the floor might be problematic to get just right. We appreciated his reassurance about these concerns, as well as how he addressed them. He was not patronizing; he just made sure all was taken care of to our satisfaction. Renewed Hardwood Floors' price was excellent and we felt we got a very high value. Jeff used well maintained equipment, (even the inside of his work vans were spotless and organized), he sanded the floors to perfection, and gave us four coats, using very high quality finishing products. Our floors are stunning. We have dealt with countless contractors over the years and know a winner when we meet one-- Jeff is definitely someone we recommend wholeheartedly. It is obvious that he loves and cares about his business. We feel lucky to have reaped the benefits of his outstanding knowledge, experience, and craftsmanship.

The owner, Jeff Kroh promptly got us into his schedule and followed up with us after the work was completed. He also provided us with information on care and maintenance of the newly refinished and existing wood floors.

Jeff is very easy to work with and his costs were very competitive. I would use the company again and have recommended it to my friends and neighbors.

The floors look amazing! The workers were courteous, prompt, and just did a wonderful job. They were very patient with me and answered all of my questions. They even shoveled my walk during the very snowy weather!

The total job took 2 weeks, done in phases due to limitations in space for our furniture. We moved the furniture from our living room to our screened in porch and then moved our furniture from the back bedrooms into our living room. The crew started on a Tuesday when they sanded the floors and applied the first coat or urethane, they then came back the next two days to complete the next two coats of urethane. We were able to move the furniture back on Sunday. Next they came on Monday (for the other part of the house) completed the sanding and the first coat of urethane, they then came back the next two days to finish the next to coats of urethane. We started moving our furniture back in late on Friday. Everything came out great, very professional job, looks like we have a new house. One thing we didn't think about was the smell. Being the winter, it probably wasn't the best time to do this. We did learn to vent the house by opening a window and setting a fan blowing out. Seemed to work alright and didn't drop the temperature too much. It would have been nice if the contractor would mentioned this prior to starting the job because apparently there are other options such as water based coatings that might have worked better.

Jeff was prompt in coming to quote the job and gave me a $50 discount based on my Angie's membership. One of his crew worked on the floor twice over three days. The floor looks even better than I could have hoped for. Several visitors to the house think it's a new floor.

Overall, it was a good experience and I found Jeff to be very accommodating to our needs.

We were so pleased with the quality of their work that we decided to have them re-finish the hardwood floors in the kitchen of our house. The original installation in 1987 was done by a reputable union contractor. James and Jeff from Renewed Hardwood Floors did as good as if not better than the union contractor. The unit price was the same for this project. We had so much faith in their work and professionalism that we paid them in full on day two of a four day job. We were extremely pleased with the work performed on both projects and would highly recommend them to anyone.

We called two companies and both seemed great. John from JB Wood Floors came over first and talked with us for about an hour and charged 25.00 for the estimate. He was very informative and laid out all the options for us. Next Jeff from Renewed Hardwood Floors came over to give us an estimate and he was very quick in his estimating. He answered all our questions and the meeting lasted about 15 minutes. In the end we decided (from our extended conversation with John) that our floors were in pretty good shape and went with Renewed who was slightly cheaper than JB. We thought that if the floors needed more extensive treatment we would have probably went with JB instead because he impressed us with his knowledge and expertise.

Fantastic work. Jeff was great. He provided a quick estimate and was able to get the job done quickly.

I got several bids via the list. Jeff was the most thorough and solved problems that I didn't realize could be fixed. Jeff and his crew did a beautiful job sanding a parkay floor and buffing and sealing the entire main floor of my house. The parkay floor was dark and badly scuffed in several areas. It's now several shades lighter and gleams, along with the rest of the floors. In addition, Ulysses replaced several boards in a doorway for a closet being remodeled into a laundry center. After the boards were replaced and stained, it is impossible to tell which are the replaced boards and which have been there since the house was built in 1955. And, he did it without sanding the room's entire floor. In addition, Jeff was more than accommodating with my schedule. This sign is on the door of his vehicle: "Integrity is our brand." Jeff embodies integrity, more than meets expectations, and he is a most kind person.

I would avoid this contractor. When he stopped over and we were working out the details of the job, he didn't seem to understand that I wanted to avoid an oil based stain because of my allergies. He then got incredibly rageful and told me he was doing me a favor bidding the job and didn't want to do the work anymore. He finally stormed out. I called the police to notify them of the reaction and potential for violence. It was shocking he would react so violently within the contest of a business discussion, speaking with someone he doesn't even know. He has gotten good reviews in the past, but something has definitely changed.

WE CHOSE THEM BECAUSE WE WERE HAPPY WITH THE ESTIMATE AND THEY WERE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ON ANGIE'S LIST. THEY HAD THE WORK DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEY WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING. THEY CLEANED UP VERY WELL AFTERWARD. THE QUOTE WAS RIGHT ON.

RHF did a fabulous job. They arrived when they said they would. They were careful and considerate about keeping the mess to a minimum, but they were honest about how much mess there would be and how bad the finishing chemicals would smell. The repairs they did were very good. I was impressed with their attention to detail in sanding. In the end the floors look great. The job costs slightly less then they estimated. I ended up paying a little bit more than I might have with other companies but I am quite certain that this is one area of home remodeling where you get exactly what you pay for!

Jeff had sanded a dining room floor at my mother's house last October. So I contacted him again when we decided to do the floors on our second floor. He gave us an estimate for the living room, dining room, and three bedrooms plus closets. We agreed to a start date and they arrived promptly on the day, sanded, and applied the first coat of poly. Workers returned each of the following two days to seal again. Floors look absolutely wonderful!

Everything went well. Jeff left stained samples so we could select the sample closest to what we desired. The stain we had selected for the main rooms of the house were way too dark, so we chose a lighter shade. The overall effect of the refinishing was wonderful. The floors turned out beautifully.

We're very happy with the end result of this project. Jeff came out and gave us an estimate and was on time and responsive. During the course of the work, Jeff was afraid some sort of stain was deep in the wood and would show through in the end. He and his crew worked some sort of magic and made it look fabulous. The only complaint is that they didn't remove the shoe molding. I didn't know it at the time but I should have asked them to do so.

We were gone the week of installation, family funeral. When we returned we were VERY DISAPPOINTED. There are gaps between the boards wider then a quarter in several places. When I told Jeff that I wanted this fixed or I wouldn't pay he began whining about how they had done their best and that is how pre-finished floors are. He even had the nerve to bring my father-in-law's passing into this discussion, not relevant in any way. The flooring store owner came over & agreed the gaps were too large. Jeff's solution for us was to get rugs to cover up the cracks, wait for humid weather when the wood would swell and the gaps wouldn't be so bad & he filled some of the gaps with a putting that is now cracking & coming out in chunks. I wish I wouldn't have paid him, but did so to be done with him. I am disappointed everyday when I walk across my new floors and as I vacuum stuff out of the cracks. Friends have said that it makes them look like old original floors, not the look we were going for!

Excellent job, the floor looks fabulous! We were on vacation while the job was performed. We had 3 contractors quote us for the job, one was double the price, and the other was similar in price. We chose Renewed Hardwood Floors due to the significant number of positive reports on Angie's List.

Jeff is the owner and came for the estimate. The young man that performed the work was what I consider a "master craftsman". Quiet, methodical, thorough and professional.

Jeff was prompt in responding to my request for a bid. His price was competitive with the other bids we received. My husband is a woodworker and insisted on seeing examples of the work of the contractors we were considering. We did not see Renewed's work. I know that showing completed projects is inconvenient but for us to even consider the bid this step had to be completed. We chose to work with another contractor.

Jeff and his group did amazing work - they were punctual, polite, and did great work. I'm absolutely thrilled with the way the floors came out. They patched a few holes from an old radiator and I can't tell were the holes were. Absolutely fantastic!

I scheduled the installation while my husband was in China. He said, "we can do this ourselves." I don't disagree with that, but it would have burned up 4 or 5 full weekends and driven us crazy with each other. Jeff and his assistant had the floor down in 1 1/2 days. They had all the right tools (including a jamb saw) and paid attention to the little details, like jumping on the floors to find and screw down any squeaks. My kids blabbed away the surprise ("She what? Put your mother on the phone now!") but even he agreed it was worth it. And Jeff even remembered the $50 discount for Angie's List customers, so I saved from his bid.

Estimate accurate. No surprises. Employees courteous and professional.

Jeff gave us confidence that he would take care of us and knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, we had over cuts, gaps, splinters, and mismatched fill throughout the house. Jeff said, "once the poly is applied, the mistakes will disappear". On the final walk through, it appeared that some things, like over cuts and splitters, couldn't be fixed, according to Jeff. The next day I noticed what looked like mud on the Brazilian cherry, which I quickly realized was putty on the outside of the poly, not under the poly. This was one of the areas we addressed with him much earlier. We assumed he had fixed the problem. Calling to discuss this with him, he said he had put the putty on top of the poly coat in order to cover light oak colored fill on the dark red/brown Brazilian cherry. I said that wouldn't work and I need it fixed immediately. He became very aggressive with me, saying he is a man of integrity, etc. He wouldn't commit to a time when he would come and fix the problem.
