I can't say enough good about Jeff and his crew. Jeff met with us early on and determined a plan for refinishing one floor, adding another, and staining all to match. Once the project was underway, it was discovered that the previously installed floor could not be restained another color. Without a beat, Jeff stepped up to the plate. He removed the old floor and installed a new one to match the other new floor being installed. This was done at no additional cost to us despite the fact that he was not responsible for misidentification of the old floor's restaining potential. Something like this experience is what, to me, sets apart one business from another. It's easier to present well when all goes as planned, but true professionalism stands out when problems encountered are handled well. We were also pleased in Jeff's concern to show us many shades of stain in order to get one we liked and that the floors look just perfect. Also, we felt comfortable with Jeff's crew in our home when we were at work. Thank you, Jeff/Renewed Hardwood Floors. We LOVE our new floors!

Jeff's estimate came in more reasonably than several others and he was actually able to get the job started sooner than he originally anticipated. The job took 3 days, just as he expected, and my floors look amazing! He also created a bullnose piece for the top of the stairs even without a request from me. The house was left clean & wood dust free when he was finished!

Jobs were done well. Very fair pricing.

They came in on Mon and said 3-4 days. He was running a bit late the first day and called to tell me. the sanding was done by the second day and they started the polyurethane, which needed 3 coats. They were done by Fri and the carpet guy was due to come in on Mon. They even did the closets. It was a beautiful job. The carpet guy is Does Carpet Service. Very happy!

The floors were in okay shape except the master which needed patching and repair. The other rooms simply needed sanding and re-clear coated. The amount of dust on the walls (newly painted) was significant, but I think that is expected after the floors are sanded. The wood looks very good now!

Overall this experience was fantastic. Company owner was at our doorstep in 24 hours. He gave us a bid for the job and had workers in our home the very next day. The project took only a couple hours more than we thought with NO extra charges No extra hidden fees. The workers in our home were courteous, prompt reassuring and professional. We LOVE the results. We would absolutely use this company again and recommend them to anyone that needs floor/etc services that these folks offer. A++++ for the crew that was in our home!!!

Overall a good experience. They were able to do the job efficiently and quickly and everything turned out great.

They explained the process when the estimate was given. There were no surprises and everything was performed exactly as described. We wanted to improve the look of our floors in preparation of possible sale of the house. Our Brazilian cherry floor was 14 years old and had never been refinished. The floor was bleached so bad by the sun (we have a southern exposure) that there was no color left; formerly dark boards were identical to the lighter ones. In addition, 14 years under a family of 5 left the floors pockmarked and water stained in some spots. The process took 3 days. As expected, there was a lot of dust from sanding. But they put so many dust guards up, they we found very little anywhere. This firm came in and truly renewed the floors on time with no dust. They look brand new. As our realtor said, the wow factor is back. Another said he was amazed there were no sanding marks left by the drum sander. The floor is beautiful and the cherry wood really stands out. We now know to put new coats of sealer on every few years. If we are still in this house, we will definitely use Renewed Hardwood Floors for that service.

Positives: - Crew showed up on time on the day scheduled. - I was told the job would take 2 days, which it did. - The price was reasonable. Negatives: I stressed in all my communications that I wanted the new flooring nailed down to avoid using adhesives as much as possible. Jeff proposed stapling the floor down. This was written on the estimate. During the installation, they ran into a problem getting the flooring to lie flat. I was initially told this was due to the underlayment. At this point, we jointly decided not to use the underlayment and that they would continue stapling the floor down. Fast forward 8 hours: I get home and find that they did not remove the underlayment, installed the floor using glue, and did not nail or staple the floor at all. In other words, they floated the floor over the underlayment and glued it together. I was never informed of this. They just installed it EXACTLY AS I SPECIFIED NUMEROUS TIMES NOT TO. When I asked Jeff what had happened, he said that "their staple gun broke" and that they couldn?t get the flooring to lie flat (which just means they did not prep the subfloor properly), so he just made the call to install it (exactly contrary) to what we agreed upon -- without telling me. I told him I was not happy with this and that he should have contacted me to let me know the situation. He was not very apologetic and instead started telling me how difficult the job was and what a great job they did and that he was ?ok? with not charging me even more (almost fainted). So, I basically got stuck with (extremely expensive) cherry flooring installed exactly the way I was trying to avoid. The floor is full of gaps and is wavy and uneven. There isn?t really anything I can do about it short of ripping up the entire installation, buying more flooring, and re-installing it ? but they knew that. This was a deliberate tactic on their part. (Read the other negative reviews they have gotten. You'll notice a theme.) The failing here is that the company did not communicate that there was any problem with the course of action we agreed upon. They just went ahead knowing that I would likely object if they told me what they were doing. I would have been perfectly willing to pay more if the floor required more prep work or time to install than they initially expected. I was not given that option, however. They gave the impression that they were rushing to the next job.

I called them for a price quote, they came out, took measurements, but never got back to me on a quote. I repeatedly called for a quote, wrote emails and never got a response back from them.

Did a excellant job. A few problems were handled to my satisfaction, but I am very satisfied with their work.

Personnel came quickly to provide a bid (which was competitive), and there was little delay in scheduling the work. The final result was of high-quality workmanship and very attractive.

We are very pleased with Renewed Hardwood Floors, and plan to use this company again. They resanded and refinished the maple floors in three bedrooms with beautiful results. John Kroh, the owner, gave us a reasonable (although not the lowest) estimate and timeframe. His employees, Brent and Shawn, were prompt, efficient, courteous, and repectful of our property. They finished on time, and left no mess. We love the way our floors look.

When I called to see if they could refinish the floor their earliest availability was 3-4 weeks out. I wanted the work done as soon as possible so he said they would try to squeeze me in sooner. They were able to do the work a week after I called! I also had windows being installed at the same time and he was very flexible about working with other contractors in the same space. The floor looks great! I would definitely recommend them and use them again if ever needed.

It went really well. They really did a good job on the floors, they turned out beautifully. There was a problem with the sander it skuffed up the wall but they got painters to fix it all, they really went above and beyond. The manager was always there and the customer service is excellent!

We are very happy with the results of our project. Jeff's crew came in and moved furniture into our garage, covered the kitchen cupboards and other areas of the house with plastic to minimize dust. Due to the number of rooms, stairs, etc., the entire project took just over a week. Every day when we came home, they had picked up after themselves and left the house and yard very tidy. The demolition and installation took about 4 days, then the finishing took 3 days. We couldn't be in the house during those 3 days due to the fumes (this coincided with Labor Day weekend, so we took a mini-vacation). Finally, Jeff and one of his crew came back to move furniture back into place. We had a couple of minor unexpected items, but these are very minor considering the overall satisfactory results of the project:- When Jeff gave us the original estimate he had forgot to include some trim that ended up adding a couple hundred dollars to the overall price. But he clarified this before we signed the agreement with him.- Jeff also didn't tell us ahead of time that we would need to hire a carpet person to tack down the carpet in the rooms ajacent to the hallway. Again, this was very minor, just unexpected. He did give us a reference to another Angie's list vendor (which was another great experience!) Again, we are very excited about our beautiful new floors, and would highly recommend Renewed Hardwood Flooring to our friends.

Great response time and very easy to set up a free estimate. I only ended up using a different company because their price was 25% higher than what I'm going to be paying someone else.

I had three small bedrooms, a hallway and about 18 stairs that were covered in carpet and a medium dark stain. I removed the carpet myself except for a few stairs where I couldn't pull the staples out. I agreed to pay for 2 hours additional labor for that removal (worth every penny). Jeff was clearly excited to work on this job and I appreciated his enthusiasm. I decided that to save money I would not have the stair risers (the vertical part) sanded/refinished, just the treads. Jeff offered to 'touch up' the risers where they might need it for a smaller charge which I accepted. As he was looking at the stairs he noticed a missing ballister that I hadn't noticed (new house) and offered to replace it. He also suggested a way to make the door match the rest of the woodwork. I knew I wouldn't have time to do that myself so asked if he would be willing to do it and he added that to the estimate. The work was beautifully done by his crew and on the schedule Jeff gave me.

AWFUL Experience. The floor in our living room ended up being two different colors, with a light cherry stain on one half of the room and no stain on the other half. Jeff said that his worker ran out of stain, and didn't realize it because it had gotten dark outside. By the time he realized it, he had already applied the top coat, and said that it was too late to correct the problem. His worker told us to just "live with it". We had to call Jeff more than once before he agreed to fix it. He told us over the phone that he would take care of redoing the entire first floor to get the stain to blend. However, when he showed up, he tried to charge us for the job all over again! Instead, he ended up trying to patch fix it, which just looks awful. He told me that once I got my furniture moved back in, that I wouldn't notice it anymore. Well, I still notice it everyday. Furthermore, Jeff and his crew got stain all over the house: on the trim, on the walls, even in rooms that weren't being redone like the kitchen! After I complained, Jeff ended up shouting at me, to the point that I left my home because I was so uncomfortable. I read through some of the other postings on this site, and came across another where he got into a shouting match with his worker in front of some clients. Not only does this company do sloppy work, they are very unprofessional. TERRIBLE experience!

Everything went great! I had a layer of glue on my floors that needed to be removed so I thought the price was going to be outrageous, but it wasn't. Brent kept me informed along the way of their progress and any potential issues that could arise because of the oil from the nails, etc. The floors are stunning! Of course the first night I was home I put a huge scratch in the floor while moving in furniture. The came over the same day I called and fixed it for no charge. Great customer service! Everything was cleaned up when I got home and there was minimal dust. I have 2 bedrooms that need to be redone and will definitely hire them again.

Jeff and his crew were great to work with. From the estimate through the refinishing this was a great experience. They had to replace a ton of boards from pet damage and the newly finished floors look great!

I called them and they were out in 24 hours to give me estimate. They started the next week. It took three days to complete. Very little dust but a liitle odor form the varnish. They were very knowledgable. Great job floors look wonderful!!

We had a wonderful experience with Renewed Hardwood Floors. Jeff promptly arrived at our home to give us an estimate for refinishing our living room and kitchen hardwood floors. He also gave a suggestion for changing/repairing our existing entry way floor which, at the time, was linoleum. He measured and wrote out a bid on the spot. It was great! I told him I was getting a few estimates from different companies and would give him a call either way. He was very professional. His team of workers came out a few days before our scheduled refinishing date to replace the entry way linoleum with hardwood and a beautiful walnut border. A few days later the floors were sanded and polyed. We, upon request, were out of the house for three days during the process and when we returned were ecstatic with the results. The floors were beautiful!! Jeff and his team were courteous, punctual, and fair. I would definitely refer Renewed Hardwood Floors to friends and family.

We called Renewed Hardwood after we read all of the great reviews on Angies List. Jeff came out and gave us a very reasonable bid so we decided to hire him. Unfortunately we never saw him again. He sent two workers out who did not seem knowledgable at all. One gentlemen was slightly more informed than the other. They RUINED our walls which we just spent $4000 painting. There are big black marks all over our freshly painted white walls. It looks like a bomb went off in our bedroom. We took several pics which I will post on here later. We were also disappointed with the amount of time it took them to finish such a small space. All of the other bids that we received quoted us at 3-4 days max. It took Renewed Hardwood over a week to finish a very small space; making our living arrangements very inconvenient. Last but not least Renewed Hardwood ended up charging us an extra $100 in the end to finish the upstairs. They bought trim that apparently they forgot to quote. Overall, not a good experience. If I were to give this company any credit, the floors themselves do look very nice. We are very pleased with that part of this process. Its just all of the other headache that went along with getting them installed. We are in the process of getting out entire bedroom repainted to cover up all of the black scuff marks.

We were very satisfied. The quality was excellent, work was on time and for the agreed upon price.
