RATTAN & WICKER FACTORY STORE

In 2003 I purchased a Rattan baker's rack through this company when they were located in St. Louis Park, but the manufacturer was no longer using the same stain as the rest of the furniture that I had purchased several years before. Rattan & Wicker said that they could match the stain which they did, but they neglected to put on a urethane finish to protect the stain. The stain was easily removed anytime you placed something on it and moved the item slightly. I decided this year to have the piece fixed as it was looking pretty bad after several spots where the stain had come off. I contacted Rattan & Wicker not realizing that they were the same company that I purchased the piece. They had me upload pictures of the piece showing where the stain had come off. After not hearing anything from them for a week I decided to stop by their Bloomington store with pictures in hand to get a written estimate. The man acted like he didn't really want to be bothered, asked if I would deliver the piece (even though my email asked for pick-up and delivery), and only wrote down my personal information. He made no notes about price, nor did he offer me a copy of anything. After another week had gone by I returned to Angie's List to find another company, and within hours Rattan & Wicker asked if they could come by to pick-up the piece. I informed the man that I hadn't heard from them in 3 weeks, and he insisted it was only 2 weeks (he stated that he had been busy). I also told him that I was reluctant to give them the baker's rack without a written estimate as to what they were going to charge me. After some negotiations I agreed to let them come over, but only if I received a written estimate. Once again they only seemed interested in fixing the stain, and not putting on a finish coat to protect the stain. I insisted that the finish coat be part of the estimate since I didn't really want to go through this again. He told me that it would take 2-3 weeks, and that I had to pay the pick-up charges in cash. Luckily I had that much on hand or I would have had to run to the bank. After 2 weeks they called and said that it was finished and asked if they could deliver it. The bottom shelf looks like they went a little heavy on the stain, but everything else looks good. The sad thing is if they had put the urethane on to begin with in 2003 when I bought the piece it would have only cost me around $89 to have it done right the first time. I am just glad that this ordeal is over with.

It is an A all the way experience. We had a set that was in pretty bad shape. I went in and picked out fabric and they reupholstered and refinished the furniture and it turned out excellent. The patterns matched perfectly; it looks like brand new.

I found just what I was looking for -- attractive, realistic looking all-weather wicker furniture with aluminum frames. They have many, many fabrics to choose from for the cushions. After selecting a fabric, they made my cushions on-site and everything was ready for me to pick up within days of ordering. The company has a wide selection of rattan and wicker furniture and they were very easy to deal with. I expect to be enjoying the furniture for many years!
