The workers that came out were very good. They did great work. It is good value for the money. There have been no complications. The granite is looking great.

I had a very small budget for wanting to get granite counter tops so I emailed a few people advertising on craigslist. Clarison (Clay) responded the next day saying there was a sale on the type of granite I was looking for (dark grey or black with little variation). We scheduled to meet at the stone wholesaler, he showed me a few slabs that he thought might be what I was looking for, and the granite that was on sale was pretty much exactly what I wanted. He does not require a deposit, just full payment after installation. I was surprised and a little taken aback by that, most places want half up front. He came over the next week to measure my cabinets, which took about an hour. And we scheduled the installation for 3 weeks later (my schedule not his). We agreed that I would remove the old counter tops. He showed up about 2 hrs later than we had agreed, but he had called to let me know that he'd be late. Installation took about 4 hrs, there were a few small problems that he worked through with no fanfare. He reinstalled the appliances which I wasn't expecting and a really nice bonus. The plumbing specifically had been a headache to hook up, but he took care of it. Awesome. There are two things that I didn't expect. I forgot about tax, so that added a couple hundred to his original quote. And the seam in my counter top is in a spot I'm not sure I'm happy with. I really hate seams, and he did a good job with lining it up, but it's still noticeable to me. I've been told by others that it was amazing he did it with only one seam and there was no other good spot for the seam. But if you're really particular, you might want to discuss that with whoever does your counter tops. I just didn't think to ask.
