It's fall and we've recently seen and trapped a couple of mice in the house. Not unusual for this time of year, but the news reports have said that this years weather has caused an increase in mice seeking shelter for the winter. So after reading Rick's stellar reviews and seeing such reasonable prices I thought I would give him a call and nip things in the bud before they really got started. I left Rick a message about 1030am and he returned my call within the hour. He asked some questions about our home, built in 1994, typical suburban modified 2 story, and said he'd be happy to come out and take care of the mouse issue for $1,600.00. He said the service is guaranteed. I told him I was surprised at the price and he said that he's very busy right now and if it was at a less busy time he could "knock maybe $200-300 off the price". He said he needs to charge that much because if he has to make 3-4 visits over the next few years the travel time adds up. Note that in his company information he says there are no travel charges. I told him that we'd have to look elsewhere and he said fine and ended the conversation. Waste of my time .

Richard was fast, informative, and thoroughly responsive to my needs at all times. I left a message in the evening about finding a large nest in the ceiling space between two rooms in the basement. Two weeks prior, I called another pest company and was told that they would die off, but I kept finding 10-20 a day and needed help. Due to a life-threatening bee sting allergy, I was too afraid to do laundry and considered moving out for a week or two until the problem could be handled. There was no need to do that, as Richard responded immediately and could come out ASAP to handle the yellow jacket nest. Richard used a powder to annihilate them at the entry point, sprayed inside, and advised what to do if any strays were to temporarily be found. I did find a few the next day, which is NOT due to work quality, but to the sneakiness of critters. My home is now bee free and safe! Richard did a very professional job and guarantees his work. I will certainly keep his name in our home file for future use!

He did call within the two days of purchase as he was supposed to. He advised that he did not service my area, so I am getting a refund for my Big Deal purchase. He was professional and curtious.

Rick was extremely prompt and very professional. He was available the next day after our purchase of this deal and arrived within the timeframe we agreed to, His methodology in inspecting and checking the entire foundation was very thorough and he answered all of our questions, advised and educated us in looking out for future issues. We were very impressed with Rick and this service and will definitely call him if needed.

Rick called me back after just an hour or so and came out the same day to look at our wasp issue. He sprayed the area where we had nests and had seen a large number of wasps, and when we noticed wasps in another area, he got his ladder back out to spray there as well. I did not compare costs with any other companies so I can't say if this was a good value or not, but I would definitely call him again if I had any other pest issues.

I liked that they came and took care of the problem. They also gave me a two year warranty. There was nothing I didn’t like about them and I would use them again.

I received an immediate response to my initial e-mail contact to the company. Rick called and we discussed what the problem was (ants entering my home through a hole in the brick work), he gathered information, and set an appointment. On the day of the appointment, he looked at the outside perimeter of the home, and the places in the yard and garage where I saw the ants going. He seemed very knowledgable about ant behavior. I had researched it quite a bit, and the things he was saying seemed to match what I had read. After confirming that the ants I was concerned about were in fact Carpenter Ants, he dusted, and sprayed where appropriate both inside and outside the house and garage. He did a very thorough job, including getting up on a ladder and checking for any possible entry points in other areas where I had seen stray ants. He also gave us advice on things we could do to prevent further pest invasions. I told him we would be having some construction work done, to repair the damp wood, and the problems that caused it. He said that this treatment should kill all the ants that are in the house, but if the carpenters saw any ant activity, to call him, and he would come over and take care of them. (I haven't had the carpentry work done yet, but have seen no more ant activity since the treatment). I rated punctuality "A", even though Rick was behind schedule on my appointment day - but my appointment was at the end of the day, and is understandable that timing may not be exact since it is hard to know in advance how long assessment and treatment will take. When I saw how thorough he was, and how he did not rush his assessment or treatment to try to make up time, it was easy to see that some flexibility in schedule is required. After all, most service companies give a 4-hour window for the appointment time. Very nice, answered my questions, provided lots of information. I would hire them again.

He was good. He called right away and was flexible with scheduling; he came out when I asked him to come. I won’t know if the treatment worked until winter.

Good communication, quick response. Easy scheduling. Service provider was knowledgeable, inspected house for likely places of entry for mice. Very thorough. Filled the openings for several spots. Paid extra to fill a couple others. Filled an area in siding where chipmunks were nesting. Very pleased with work.

I purchased this deal off of Angie's List. Considering the cost, I was a bit disappointed - only to find out that of the $140, the actual cost of the inspector's time was $90. Angie's List got the rest (according to the inspector). Mr. Standish did a fairly thorough job with the inspection and offered to address all of the potential entry areas for $600. That seemed a bit steep. But he had some good suggestions on what I could do myself, which was appreciated.

He was thorough and professional. Decided it was too expensive and we were going to try to solve the problem on our own.

It went really well and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. We had them do a few additional checks while they were here. We’ve also not had any issues with mice since they came out. There were no issues with scheduling, either.

He was easy to work with, explained everything well. He came when he said he would. Our actual cost was less than his first estimate once he checked out our house because the problem was not as much as he expected

Scheduling was awesome. Rich answered the phone on the first call, asked if he could call me back in 30 minutes, he called back within that time, and after explaining my ant problem, he quoted me the price and we had a time scheduled for the very next day. He arrived promptly at the time we agreed upon, and I showed him where I had seen ants and described what the ants looked like. In the approximately 2 hours that he spent working at my house he observed carefully the ant behavior in various places around the outside of my house, put a ladder up to investigate possible points of entry near where I had seen the ants in my upper level, and determined based on his experience and what he observed, where he should treat for the ants. Rich strategically dusted for the ants into the areas where he thought they might be entering and where it seemed likely they might have built nests inside the walls of my home. He followed each dusting with a sealing of the opening - be it a small crack, a gap, or a hole. He said that my stucco house was very tight, but that the small entry points would be just enough to allow for ants to get in and nest. He worked efficiently and carefully, explaining things to me as I asked (out of my own curiosity). He seemed very, very knowledgeable about ant behavior and habits / habitat, so I felt confident that he wasn't just applying chemicals willy nilly and telling me that he'd taken care of it. After treating and sealing the areas, Rich explained that I might see some additional activity inside my home over the next week to 10 days as the ants "flee" the nests that have been dusted. I have seen some live and dead ants in my home, but nothing like the number I had been seeing prior to the treatment. The bonus with this is that Rich guarantees the treatment for 18 months. EIGHTEEN months from now if I see an ant, I will call him and he will come back and evaluate and treat my home again. I thought this was excellent money spent. Carpenter ants do not eat wood, but they do nest in wood in your home so they can do damage. I began seeing them this year, and Rich put a stop to any damage that might be done. I'm very pleased with his service and expertise, and I am confident because of the guarantee that if this treatment didn't take care of all of it, I can call Rich and he'll come back. Highly recommend.

Rick was very responsive. In fact, when I called him to set up a time for him to come to my home, he was available that evening. He came, looked around the house, found a few entry sites, and gave me an estimate to seal them. The cost was extremely reasonable so I told him to go ahead and seal the sites, which he did. He was at my house for less than an hour, and he was extremely pleasant and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Rick was friendly, professional, and showed up promptly at the time of our appointment. When he had finished, I felt reasonably certain that we wouldn't have any more "visitors" for the foreseeable future.

Great! He was very prompt and knowledgable. He made sure he understood what the issue was and made recommendations for treatment. Further, he didn't come out to treat the house until the weather cooperated. I will use him again for sure!

Rick did a thorough evaluation, and then offered to fix one major hole, as covered by the coupon, plus all the rest at an additional price. Every vendor that comes through an AL coupon tries to upsell additional services, but Rick seemed to just want to do the job right. I appreciated that he has been in this line of business for a long time, and was very thorough.

I called Rich because we had ants crawling all over our kitchen and flying ants swarming our living room. I selected him due to his high rating on Angie's list. On the phone, he asked several questions so that he could determine what the issue is. He gave me a price right then and said he was not far from my part of town so he was able to come over within an hour to resolve the problem. Both professional and personable, he took care of the problem and educated me about the ants and what he was doing. Good guy - very knowledgeable and informative and offered to come back later on for touch up if there were still ants. I asked about regular treatment options and he let me know that it really depends on one's tolerance for bugs whether one should have seasonal treatments or not ( I am OK with the occasional spider and centipede). He could have easily sold me on extra treatments but did not do it and I respect that honesty.

He did a good job! I had gotten unsatisfactory results with two other companies in the past five years. I had people come in and tell me the field mice were coming in because of my bird feeder, etc. When I called this fellow, he wanted $600 for the job and that he would hang in with me for three years and he guaranteed I would have no mice! I paid half up front. When he came, it was cold and snowy and he had to do cement work. Somehow, he did it in the freezing cold. He filled some holes under my garage door. He came back a second time and found another place and patched it. After the second visit, he's been fully paid and I haven't seen another mouse! He was willing to go the extra mile and even cleaned up some mouse droppings for me.

Richard responded promptly to my request for service. Immediately after the go-ahead, Richard made about a half-dozen trips over several days to set and check traps. He kept me updated on his estimate of the situation and finally declared the premises squirrel-free. Richard also gave good advice on how to prevent them from coming back. He guaranteed his work for 6 months and the there have been no problems 2 months out - nor do I anticipate any.

Great, he was thorough, conscientious, knowledgeable, courteous and clean. He had to pull apart the chimney flue from the inside and had to get up on the roof in February. This was no easy job as the fireplace is located in a 2nd story eave in an old South Minneapolis Bungalow. He was able to get the fireplace flues pulled apart, clean it out and put it back together again like it was new - with the appropriate fireplace caulking that is required. We will definitely use him again and would recommend him to all.
