Description of Work: Rik painted our kitchen, back and front entry, and stairway. He repaired a couple of areas, prepped and painted. Our walls look fantastic. And given that we have a kitchen with lots of antique cupboards and woodwork, our woodwork still looks pristine as well. Rik is a fantastic painter and super guy. Trustworthy, reliable and neat, neat, neat. We're well on our way to having him paint our entire house as we've use him for years.

+ -1 moreOver the last 11 years, Rik has painted every room and ceiling in my house – some more than once, since I keep changing my mind! He is a perfectionist and is meticulous and I appreciate those qualities in a service provider. He also goes above and beyond the call of duty by helping me move furniture etc. He is dependable, reliable, hard-working, conscientious, and honest. I don’t hesitate when giving him the highest recommendation when I’m asked if I know a good painter. You will not be disappointed!

+ 0 moreIt's always a good sign when someone you hired to paint your home brings you flowers to welcome you to the neighborhood! Rik is honest, trustworthy, and very easy to work with. It was a pleasure getting to work with him and getting to know him over the course of the job. Although we went over the original estimate, we were consulted on these adjustments throughout the project whenever possible. Rik is thorough and attentive to detail and this shows in the final product. We are very pleased with the work Rik has done for us and will hire him again for future projects.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a 1924 'four-square' with an open living room/dining room with separate kitchen downstairs, and 3 bedrooms/1 bath upstairs. We had Rik remove wallpaper from the kitchen and bathroom. He prepped and painted the living room/dining room downstairs as well as the hall/staircase. Two of the upstairs bedrooms had built in shelving that was removed by Rik and his crew and a fair amount of patching of the ceiling and walls had to be done. The three bedrooms were painted a separate color and took 1 coat of priming and 2 coats of finish matte. The initial estimate was for $4200, but because of the condition of the plaster and the extent of fixture removal, as well as some mid-project additions, the final bill was about about $5750. We were given weekly updates of his progress and billing while we were still out of state.

+ 0 moreRik is meticulous and extremely conscientious. He helped us choose our colors and finished exactly when promised. He cleaned up so well, one would not have even known he was there. The kitchen looks amazing. He has done work for us before and is the only painter we would consider hiring. He charges time and materials, rather than a straight bid, but for a week's worth of work, his price was extremely reasonable.
Description of Work: Rik patched two badly damaged walls and ceilings; sanded, primed and painted the walls and trim in two rooms.
