Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing

We had a cast iron bathtub that we had refinished 20 years ago. We had changed colors in the bathroom and wanted to update the bathtub. Called Porcelite, they explained the procedure and costs,over the phone, and we made an appointment for them to come out the following week. Andy called the night before to confirm the time.. He showed up on time proceeded to carry in all his equipment and went right to work. Four and a half hours later, our early 90's Kohler green bathtub was now a shiny Kohler black tub. Andy explained when we could use the tub and how to care for it. All in all a very pleasant experience.

All went great. Good customer service and very friendly. They arrived on time and did a great job. Afterward I couldn't tell anyone had been in the bathroom except for the tape blocking the bathtub (48 hrs. Before we could use it). We are very happy with the experience and the results.

Awesome! We were told they would need to remove the previous finish, but, because it was so thin, they didn't have to. It saved us $150. They could have just done the job and not told us that and charged the extra money. Very professional!

We had removed all articles from the countertop and removed the sliding shower doors from the tub and therefore he just carefully masked everything around the items to be resurfaced, ventilated the area and went about his duties without any interruptions to any of us who were still in the house. Andy was the salesperson also and I was impressed by his professionalism during the total project. I would recommend this firm again.

We called Porcelite in September, 2014 to refinish our downstairs bathtub, which was rusty and worn. The repairman was efficient and helpful and completed the work. A small bubble developed in the finish and he returned promptly to fix the problem. We are very happy with the finished work, the bath tub looks like new.

Even though I called to confirm a few days before the appointment, I got a call the evening before from the worker that was scheduled to do the work. The call was professional and let me know the details of what to expect. The worker arrived and after I showed him where the tub was, he got right to work. I expected to have to have the previous attempt at refinishing removed, but the worker explained that it would not be necessary. That saved me money. He got right to work and everything went just as he has explained. The tub looks great, there was surprising little to clean up. Some dust, yes. But he has been careful and there was no residual dust in the house to deal with. The surrounding area was clear and there was no evidence of over-spray. I am very pleased with the outcome and I would hire Procelite Bathroom Renewal Services to do other work for me in the future.

Scheduling a time was super easy. Andy arrived promptly. He was very polite and professional. He removed his shoes each time upon entering the home as he brought in his equipment. It took roughly five hours. You can't use your shower for 48 hours afterwards. I recommend adding the anti-slip surface to the tub, as their warranty indicates bath mats should not be used. The bathtub looks amazing!!! He removed all of the old caulk and put in new caulk. It has such a nice shine to it. I can't believe I waited so long to do this. I can't comment on the longevity of the finish as it's only been in place a few weeks, however, it feels really solid and I believe will last a very long time.

They did a beautiful job--the bathtubs look like new. They returned my call promptly and were very professional. I would highly recommend this company.

I sent an email request one evening and promptly got a call from Andy the next day and we set up a time to come look at my shower. I needed a liner because of the floor cracks and he measured the shower on a Monday and said it would take about 7 days to get the liner delivered. We set up an install date and he completed the work today It looks great and he explained that I needed to wait 48 hours because of some additional caulking he did for me. Andy is great and I really enjoyed working with him. And honestly, he did a fantastic job! Thanks, Andy!

Karin was great on the phone when scheduling. I got an appointment within two weeks and got my Angie's discount. The service technician called several days before the appointment to ask if my schedule was flexible because due to cancellation, he could come earlier than originally scheduled. Schedule change worked for me. Tim arrived right within the newly scheduled one-hour window. Tim and helper were personable, professional, and very tidy. Job was completed within the predicted 4 hours. The job looks great. Can't speak to durability as refinishing was just completed. Thanks Porcelite!

They did a very good job, they left a few little specks sticking out but those can be sanded easily. They really did do a beautiful job and I was very happy with the outcome.

We had them refinish are old cast iron tub. Andy was the one who did the job because the originally scheduled technician was held up on a project for a less than forthcoming contractor. Andy did a good job and was respectful when working. Because of the circumstances he was an hour late. He resurfaced the tub and added texture to the bottom. He did not caulk around the shower because he suggested using a caulking grout because of the gap between the tile and the tub. This had to be done by me a few days later. He made the tub look like new. He gave me care instruction and his advice on how to clean it. Overall the experience was very good. Thanks.

Excellent company and workmanship. Andy repaired three rust spots and refinished my tub (he also provided an informal plumbing consultation when I asked about the pipes). The man is the Michelangelo of caulking - if only my painter could get lines that straight! You can tell immediately that the folks at Porcelite are professionals who stand by their work and want happy customers. The finished product looks gorgeous and Andy was prompt, focused, and communicative. Highly recommended.

We had it refinished once before about seven years ago. The folks who did it we thought were okay, but the installer had a couple of big runs in it and said he had to come back and do it over, which he did. However ir did not last long and started chipping near the drain. The water got under the chipped area and it started to lift up. So we decided to try Porcelite as this is what they do. It cost us extra because the old finish had to be stripped off as it was not put on by Porcelite, which is very understandable. We were fortunate to have Joe as our installer. This guy is a magician to say the least. Compared to the other time we had this done, there is no comparison. Joe put a fan in the bathroom window and sealed off the door so there was no dust smell or anything. You would not know that he was actually doing any stripping or spraying. About three and a half hours later we had a new bathtub!! It just glistens!! Done once, done right!! Oh, another thing we recommend is to get the non slip finish to the bottom of the tub. It really works and you no longer need a bath mat in the tub. When showering it really gives you a grip, and when sitting it doesn't bother your butt!! Works really great. This is truly a professional job from placing the order right down to the finish. Don't waste your money elsewhere. We have had it done two times, and Porcelite is the way to go. It started off great. Andy was easy to reach on the phone. He provided a quote and explained the process, then scheduled the work. But then... when I saw the refinishing after it was completed, I was not happy with the job that was done. Two areas of the tub had strings of hardened droplets of the coating - the finish was not smooth. In a couple of other areas of the tub, decent-sized particles of debris had become incorporated into the coating and dried hard but not smooth. Finally, after being told by the technician that he could match the bright white ("Kohler White") of my toilet and sink, what was applied to the tub was a sort of creamy off-white ("American Standard White") instead. Right away upon seeing these things, I called Andy. He came to my house the very next day and scheduled a re-do, which was done as soon as possible. The tub is now a smooth, shiny, bright white, which matches much better with my existing fixtures. I believe the best way to know a contractor is by how they handle the problems and mistakes that can occur with any project. In this case, the project was made more difficult for the technician the first time around because tiling of the bathroom was in process at the time the tub was first refinished. Granted, I would have expected the technician to tell me at that point that a proper job could not be done, instead of attempting the work and coming up with a substandard result. I have no explanation for the dribbles or the color match except to say that anyone can make mistakes, and what matters is how they handle the situation after that point. Porcelite handled the situation impeccably. My dissatisfaction with the job was not diminished or argued with -- I received a prompt and sincere apology and a fast, complete correction of the issues with no hassle and no cost. I would hire them again and I would recommend them. I'm thrilled with my "de-pinkified" bathroom! Thank you, Porcelite!

It was an excellent experience. Arrived on time and explained the process. Brought equipment inside and had lots of covers for floors . Completed work in 2+ hours. Had to wait 48 hours to use tub. There was some odor but not excessive as a fan was placed in window to exhaust fumes as well as using the exhaust fan in bathroom.

We have an older home with a built-in tub that is bigger than what you can buy today so when it started to show the iron underneath the porcelain we decided to have it resurfaced instead of replacing it. That was about 10 years ago. The tub looked great--you couldn't tell it was refinished at all. When we had some more work done on the bathroom last year, we knew it would disrupt the integrity of the finish so we called them again. Once again, the job was done well and they stood by their work when a chip occurred.

I received an estimate over the phone. He told me it would be $400 with my Angie's List discount and he said that if I wanted texturing that would be additional (I did ask for that and I'm glad I did). He said it wasn't necessary to come out to do an estimate since he knew the age of the house and he knew the color I wanted to match (Kohler white). The technician came on May 22nd. He said the job would take 4 hours and that was exactly what it took. He asked if I wanted to replace the drain and the overflow. I said the existing ones were okay. However, he did replace them (no additional cost) and it made a huge difference in how quickly the water drains now. He was very efficient and cleaned up afterwards - there was no mess for me. I had to wait two full days to use the tub to allow drying time. He left me with a sheet that lists the products that are okay to use on the new finish. The tub looks fantastic! I am very happy with all aspects of the project. I have already recommended Porcelite to a neighbor who had a bad experience with another company.

Came and gave us an estimate (other providers said if you've seen one tub, you've seen them all and didn't want to come out and give an estimate.). On time. Curteous. Finish looks great. Cleaned up afterwards. Was booked at least a month out, so call early.

Joe showed up right on time and did a job that looked much better then I thought it would, very informative and wife is happy and you know what they say about a happy wife :0)
