Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing

Description of Work: Technician arrived on time, did the job quickly, and did it well. Cost of $425 well worth it.

Description of Work: They were unable to match the repair patches in color to the tub color, so you can see 4 round areas that don't match the color of the rest of the tub. The spots are quite a bit larger than the ones they were trying to cover up! The gentleman said he spent an unusually long time trying to match the color but just could not get a good almond color match. The areas are darker than the tub and the repairman said he hoped that the color would eventually fade over time. It may have lightened some, maybe ..... So, if you have an almond tub, you may not be satisfied with the color match outcome. They say they have hundreds of colors to match; guess almond is a difficult color. I'm not sure if they had told me over the phone when I booked, they would not be able to match the color, that I would have spent $200 for no improvement. A bit disappointed. However, he did say the small areas are now sealed and in good condition.

Description of Work: Porcelite was very prompt in calling me back and setting an appointment, as well as showing up to the service on time. They removed our old tub liner and refinished the porceline on the original tub. The repairman was unobtrusive in the house and besides the noise, we wouldn't have known he was here. The only problem is they broke a few of our floor tiles in process and did not offer to fix them, granted I haven't called back to complain. Overall, the tub looks great and I would use them again.

Description of Work: They did an amazing job on our tub! It looks like new again. They fixed the chips that we had from the last time we did it , and did a much better job in a short time frame. They were neat and thorough and gave good care instructions.

Description of Work: The tub had been glazed poorly before. The technician stripped the old glazing and applied a new glaze. Very professional.

Description of Work: They coated a green tub to make it a white tub. They were completely organized, and the process went well. They didn't cause a ripple in our day.

Description of Work: I had my tub reglazed. They say it should last about 15 years. I have had a prior tub reglaze 14 years ago (not with this company)..so they charge $150 to remove old residue...Then $425. to reglaze my tub. They gave a $25. discount being an Angie's list member. They did a nice job. The sealer where shower tiles meet tub is very well done. We do keep it wiped and dry after showers. We do not leave soap bottles on ledge of tub any more. Hoping to get more life out of the work they did.

Description of Work: Before Porecelite arrived the bathtub looked awful. Afterwards it looked new,clean and shinny. Best way to update a bathroom ever. Great experience with them on every measure.

Description of Work: They removed shower doors, stripped a previous finish that was chipping, refinished the tub and reinstalled the shower doors. Not only was the work done well, but the guy who came out gave us a number of tips on how to keep it looking great. We have dealt with other companies who do this type of service and would highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: The technician Tim arrived on time and went right to work on prepping the bathtub to be refinished. I had some hard water build up that required a bit more work to address, but Tim was unfazed. He completed the prep and refinish process and the bathtub looks better than ever. The quality of work was fantastic, now to see how it actually holds up over time.

Description of Work: When I called with questions ahead of time, Mark was very responsive and helpful, and the guys assigned to do the actual work called the day ahead to confirm the work order. They showed up on time and were both courteous and careful in protecting the surrounding surfaces. My reticence in hiring the same outfit again has to do with the finished product itself. |While the front of the tub got a decent scouring and puttying, a number of divets on the ledge along the back wall were missed and a significant area on the front inside of the tub were never filled in and smoothed out. In other words, those areas essentially received just a glorified paint job. |I didn't notice any of this until two days later - the paint was still wet when the workers left, so I couldn't run my fingers over the surface anyway - and we were told to wait and let the finish cure for 48 hours before using the tub. |So, while I have nothing but good to say about the people from Porcelite with whom I dealt, I might think twice about spending $425 for a tub that still has plenty of pitted surface areas. Instead, I think I'd either look at finding someone else to do the job or just put that money into a brand new tub.
