Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing

Andy showed up on time and set right to work. He's a friendly young man and did an outstanding job of making our old tub look like new. He left the bathroom clean and advised me on how to care for the finish on the tub. I was well pleased with the workmanship and the look of the final finish on the fixture.

Dan returned my call the next day and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Shane arrived exactly as scheduled. He was very friendly and courteous, walked through the project steps and costs with me. I had originally just wanted the tub done, but he offered to do the countertops as well, which I thought was a superb idea and agreed. He did a fantastic job, and was finished and cleaned up in 3 1/2 hours. The cost was exactly as estimated, and I am just sorry that I did not have it done sooner! I would definitely recommend them.

Great. They (Andy and owner, Dan) were very friendly, came when they said they would come. Charged what they said they would charge and offered some great advice as well for some other details of the job.

I have showed the work to several and they are all impressed. I hope with recommended care the surface will last a long time. Highly recommend.

Emailed them early in the summer to get information on their process, timing, etc. and they responded promptly. Indicated that they needed about 1 week lead time. A couple of weeks ago bathroom remodel was complete enough to have the tub done so we scheduled the work. He showed up promptly, explained the process, asked me what color we wanted it done (didn't realize that whites were available to match different toilet/sink manufacturers colors, ie Kohler white), and discussed putting a non-slip surface on the bottom since we have a toddler. He then waited patiently while I fixed the tub feet so they wouldn't slip off the tub, did the work, cleaned up behind himself, and explained the drying/curing process to me. Also left information on the tub regarding how to clean it, etc. Tub looks incredible...still haven't had it installed with faucet so I'm still waiting to see how well it works, etc.

Representative phoned the evening prior to appointment to confirm 8:00a time and showed up right on time. Andy was very professional, going the EXTRA mile in accompanying me to Lowe's to return the incorrect size tub surround I'd purchased and helped me pick out the correct one. He covered carpeting in hallway near bathroom and took his shoes on and off the 20 some times he was in and out our front door. He was very thorough and did an extremely professional job. He was ON TIME and the quote was very accurate. I recommend this firm HIGHLY !!!

I called and got an estimate from Dan of $550 - since the old finish was peeling they had to remove it before they could refinish. After calling around, I decided to go with Porcelite and set up an appointment for two weeks later. Andy called two days before to confirm the appointment and said he would be there somewhere between noon and 1. On the day, Andy arrived at 11:50! He said that it would take between 3 and 4 hours, depending on removing the old finish. He set up ventilation to help with the fumes and proceeded to work. He was done at 3, pretty much on the dot. He cleaned up and even put plumbers putty on the drain and explained to me how to put it in once everything dried. Andy explained the warranty in detail and even left a sheet with recommended cleaners. I would definitely use their service again.

Finished product is actually better than I expected. I don't know why I didn't do this years ago.

The cast iron bathtub in my old 1925 house was completely stained and looked generally yucky. It was going to cost thousands to replace the bathtub (which would have involved knocking out walls, etc) because the tub was too big to fit through the tiny bathroom door. Porcelite was able to make the bathtub look like new. It's truly amazing that this kind of result can be achieved. This work was actually done in March of 2003 (sorry for the delay, Angie's List!) and it still looks like new 4.5 years later! (See picture.)

I emailed a request for information, and Dan responded with a very detailed description of what would be done to the tub. They worked with me to fit the service into their schedule and mine. The tub is beautiful now. These two bring the professional, knowledgeable, polite, skilled and efficient service you always hope for...and rarely get. Without hesitation, I would recommend this company, and you should not hesitate to hire them.

I called Dan for a quote and asked if the tub could be refinished while I was going to be out of town for a week. He said that would be fine and they had done this before. He said Andy would be in my neighborhood about a week before the project, so I asked if Andy could pick up a house key at my workplace and that worked out great. Andy completed the project while I was out of town, and when we got back, the tub looked like new.

I was impressed by the friendliness, thoroughness, and efficiency of Andy. Our tub drain had not been working well and he even fixed that! The refinishing was done on time and looks beautiful. It looks as if we have a new, gleaming bathtub. Everything is perfect and I was almost afraid to use it because it looks so good! Andy gave us clear instructions on what we should and should not do and when we could use the tub. He explained the pros and cons of surfacing options. He also emphasized the fact that we should call if there was any problem or if we had any questions. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Our house was built in 1918, and (judging by the finish on our tub) think the tub was installed about that same time. Despite the fact that we had re-tiled the bath surround, installed new lighting, painted, etc, the bathroom still looked unfinished. This was because our tub finish was pitted, chipped, and stained. Porcelite, made the tub look like new and completed the bathroom! The finish is flawless, the chips and pits are gone, and we finally have a great looking bathroom! The process only took a few hours (although we couldn't use the tub for a few days after the treatment) and was entirely painless. The gentleman that did the work explained the process, was courteous, and cleaned everything up when he finished. I have recommended Porcelite (and Angie's List!) to several friends considering bathroom re-models, and I would definitely use them again.

Dan was at my house 20 minutes after I called to get an estimate! He checked the tub/shower, told me where my slow leak was occurring and how they would remedy it (seal was missing around the towel bar), and we scheduled the appointment for a convenient day. Andy called ahead of time to confirm the appointment and was right on time. Because I am the curious type, he explained the entire process for me. He took great pains to make sure that the dust from sanding was kept to a minimum, and did a beautiful job, finishing up ahead of the time window allotted. Andy also came back to touch up the tiny spot I found later, at a time that was convenient for me. The tub/shower is beautiful at a fraction of the cost of a new install. My only advice to for this project is to remove or cover everything in the bathroom, as even with dropcloths and the big vent, I still had to dust the inside of my medicine cabinet, which was impossible to cover. That would have been true no matter who did the work.

Andy called the day before the appointment for work, to remind us of the appointment and asked us to call, if there was any change in our schedule. Andy showed up on time and did an excellent job. It's really nice to deal with people like this. The tub looks like new and we couldn't be happier. We would highly recommend them.

Great results and good company to work with. The work was completed for exactly the price quoted on the phone, on time, with no hassles. The service technician who did the job (Andy) was punctual, and friendly and pleasant to work with. After a quick discussion of where to place his exhaust equipment and what color we wanted for the finish, he went straight to work and worked very efficiently. He cleaned up after himself and left everything neat and clean. He also took the time to explain how to care for the new finish properly. The finish looks great (our old tub looks like new!) and we're very happy that we chose to refinish rather than try to install a new tub.

They arrived on time, were very polite and answered all questions, and did an excellent job. He finished when he said he would and the price was exactly as quoted.

It went very well. Dan returned my inquiry right away and we scheduled a time about a month out that was convenient over a long weekend since we could not use the tub for 48 hours. Andy arrived on time and finished within minutes of when he said would. He gave very helpful advice on preserving the new finish and also on keeping down mold in the bathroom. The tub looks great and it is much cheaper than getting a new tub.

Appraiser arrived as scheduled, was very knowledgeable and professional. Project was done on time and as budgeted. Excellent follow-up, high level of client satisfaction.

It went well we have a beautiful new looking shiny bathtub. With new fixtures it looks fabulous!

They were very good; came exactly when they said and were done when they said. Their price was better than anybody else I contacted. Very good work!

In short, I'm delighted. From the initial contact - Dan replied to my e-mail from vacation in Mexico. That's not very successful vacationing, if you ask me. They worked me into the schedule very quickly. Andy showed up right on time, did the work fast and well. I was worried about the smell because of what I had read here about other companies. Even though my bathroom has no windows, Andy managed to vent everything outside and the smell was no issue at all. I am well pleased and it looks great.

The refinishing tech showed up on time, and completed the job in approximately 4 hours. After refinishing, the tub looks restored - white, shiny and clean. Of all of the things done for this bathroom remodeling project, I believe that this change has made the biggest difference in how the overall bathroom looks. I'm glad that they were able to save a great old tub - excellent value!

The tub looked great when they were done but then I noticed an area where the porcelain had just kind of bubbled up all over. They did come back another day to redo the tub and it is fine now. I just felt they should have checked the tub the first time around and not called it a finished job with all the bubbles in it. I have forgotten what I paid them.
