Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing

Spoke with Dan on the phone for an estimate. I wanted to change the color of the fixtures from black to a beige color (a stock Kohler color to match the toilet). I had removed the sink for remodeling purposes and he didn't have any issues with that. He gave me separate estimates for the bathtub and sink. I was a little surprised that he didn't ask for more details, but I got an estimate and scheduled a date for the project. Andy called a couple days before the project. He gave some brief instructions on what to remove and gave an arrival time. He arrived on time and was prepared to get right at it. He had the stock Kohler color ready, which we compared to the toilet, it was a match. During the process, all the mess and odors were well contained in the bathroom. When Andy was done, the tub was beautiful and he took the sink with him. I payed only for the bathtub, at that time. About a week later my sink was done. I called to make arrangements to pick it up from their shop, but it turned out Dan was going to be in the area of my work, so we made plans for him to drop it off. This worked out well and was a very friendly gesture. I would not hesitate to hire Porcelite again, and would recommend them to anyone.

Porcelite was a pleasure to do business with, from start to finish. Prompt return of phone calls, flexibility with scheduling, professional, informed, and passionate approach to the work itself. The quality of the job was more than I hoped for. The tub looks brand new!

The service was excellent. The man entered the house and was polite from the time he stepped through the door. He looked at the workspace and quickly set up his supplies in a respectful manner so that my husband could still work in his office while the work was taking place in the bathroom. It took about three hours and ended up costing less than the original quote.

I called and got an estimate over the phone and used the $25 off coupon listed. A time was set for the work to be done about a week later. This was the only place I called from Angie's List. The original quote was $750, minus $25, for resurfacing. Andy was here at 7:50 a.m. and we were totally prepared for him (shower curtain down, shampoos removed, etc.). Very pleasant young man. I felt very safe with him in the house, a woman thing. He consulted with my husband and me about five choices of the color white and he got to work. He offered to do a textured bottom for an extra $39 and we decided to do that. He got right to work. He finished at 1:00, just when he had estimated. It looks beautiful. We paid by check, although you can pay by credit card, also. We have to allow at least 48 hours before using the bathtub, so as to allow the finish to cure (set). That is no problem in our case. Andy said that it needs a whole month to be totally set. He warned us about cleaning products and setting pails, etc. on the bottom until the month is out. It has to be treated with respect during this time. He warned against bathmats. He said if there were any problems, to just call and he would come out to fix the problem. We plan on waiting five days before we use the shower in that bathroom and put everything back in place. He was tidy and everything was immaculate when he left. Very pleasant young man.

Dan responded to phone calls promptly, called the day before coming and made suggestions in preparing the bathroom for the process. I couldn't wait to use the tub! It's a breeze to clean and shines like the top of my husband's head!

Andy was excellent! Very professional, arrived on time, answered all my questions, and cleaned up completely (wouldn't have known there was a "workman" in my house at all). He worked for about three hours and was outstanding. I highly recommend him and this company!

Andy from Porcelite showed up one time, went over the process, and went to work. He finished in less than the estimated time. He did a great job preparing the tub, taping to prevent excess spray, coating, and caulking the tub. He did a great job cleaning up. The tub looks brand new.

The experience was very good. The bath tub looks really good. They cleaned up any mess that they made and did a very good job of it. I would use them again in the future.

Andy came promptly at 8:00 in the morning. When I came home from work that day it was finished and looked like a brand new white tub.

I initially contacted Porcelite via their web site (after having found them on Angie's List). After some Q&A about the procedure and the cost, I called to schedule the work a couple weeks out. I decided not to bother with calling other companies after reading all the positive reviews about them. The day of the job, Andy came at exactly the time he said he would. He worked carefully to prepare the area to avoid damaging anything. Despite having to work in a windowless bathroom, he managed to trap most of the odors and vapors and route them out a window in a nearby room using an exhaust system and ducting. We had a new non-slip finish applied under the glaze. This finish is actually superior to what Kohler installs (which we could never clean satisfactorily). The final result is beautiful; the tub looks like new! Andy was very tidy, making sure to leave the work area at least as clean as when he arrived. He was extremely polite, pleasant and professional. Andy also refinished a Kohler cast iron/enamel sink for us. We wanted to change the color, but doing so on-site would have required Andy to clean out all his equipment to switch colors and would have resulted in additional cost. Instead, Andy volunteered to take the sink back to the shop and refinish it at the same time as a fixture for another client who wanted the same color as we wanted for our sink. He would do the work while we were on vacation and I agreed to pick it up at the shop after we returned. When we got home, I contacted Porcelite to arrange to pick up the completed sink. Dan, the owner, said he could meet me half-way at a decorating store where I was picking up paint since he had other business in that vicinity. He saved me having to drive all the way across the Twin Cities to pick up the sink, which I greatly appreciated in this day of $4/gallon gasoline! The sink turned out just as nice as the tub. Dan and Andy were great to work with. They clearly care about doing excellent work and satisfying their customers. I would absolutely hire them again.

Amazing! Andy called a day in advance to confirm appointment and arrived on time. Was very professional and helpful, and efficient. Process took about 3.5 hours, can't use now for 48 hours. That said, I'm not sure why any one would buy a new tub when you could get yours re-glazed by Porcelite. I am SO impressed with the change - looks brand new. Goodbye 1970's blue bathtub! My tub looks like new, is a beautiful, clean, crisp white. Couldn't be happier at this point! Highly recommend this company!

Very good work, very satisfied and they were just great. Can't say enough about them.

Over the phone, they were very clear about how the process worked. Andy called the night before to remind me he would be here. He was a little late, but called to let me know. I hadn't originally considered the texture on the bottom of the tub, but I'm very glad Andy suggested it and I went with it. I no longer have to use a bathmat for my daughter (one less thing to maintain). The tub looks brand new and is so easy to clean now!

I was working with someone who had to get her house on the market quickly ... and the bathroom really needed work! I called Andy, and he was booked for sometime; however, he agreed to come in and do this bathroom on a Saturday. It looks fabulous! I would not hesitate to call Andy again - he is very professional, and the results are amazing!

Dan came out to do an estimate for both of my bathrooms. He was very prompt and courteous and the estimates were emailed to me in a timely manner. I had the work done on both bathrooms separately. Andy came out to do the work in each bathroom and even with all of his tools, he kept a very neat working area. He was polite and friendly and was very conscientious about doing a professional and top-notch job. I would recommend Porcelite to anyone else looking to change the look of their bathroom without wanting to do demolition.

Porcelite was wonderful from start to finish! I requested a quote on line and received it the very next day along with information about its process. I called to schedule a time and they were able to accommodate my request that the work be done on a Friday. Andy called to confirm the date and time and my address the day before the work was scheduled to be done, arrived on time, was done one time, cleaned up everything, and the tub gleams!

He came, he saw, he conquered my tub! My husband and I argued for weeks about whether this refinish on a basically clean but dull old tub was worth it, and I am happier than usual to report that he was 100 percent right. This was SO worth it. Andy was quick, professional, and comprehensive and was in and out of my house in about 3 1/2 hours, leaving behind nothing but a cordon (to stay in place for two days, on which was hanging my guarantee) and shining porcelain. Happy, happy home remodelers are we.
