Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing

I called and spoke with Dan and talked to him about having our tub re-finished as we were putting our house on the market in a few weeks. Dan looked at his schedule and his first available appointment was a few days after we were scheduled for our first open house. Dan was great in trying to accomodate our time frame and was able to schedule us for an afternoon about a week out. I really appreciate that he got us in when he did. Andy called a few days ahead of time to confirm the appointment and to let us know wht we need to do in order to prepare for the work (removing shower curtains, etc). He arrived right on time and was very informative about the process. I just need to add here that our tub was a MESS! A few hours later Andy was finished and when I went in to see the work I was floored. It is amazing what these guys can do - the tub looks better than new! I am only disappointed that I waited this long to have the work done. I highly recommend these folks, they are great to work with and their work itself is outstanding

My initial email was answered the next day and an estimate was given over the phone once I gave Dan the measurements. Andy arrived on time on the appointed day and refinished the shower. He did a beautiful job and it looks terrific, cleaned up everything, too. I'd recommend this company to anyone looking to update their bathrooms or kitchens.

Couldn't have been easier to work with. I was given an estimate over the phone and setup an appointment for a couple weeks out. He was very friendly and customer focused when he came out to perform the work and took the time to answer my questions. The quality of work was excellent, my tub looks brand new.

I submitted a request for quote and got a response the next day. The quote was clear about the cost, the time needed and the steps in the process. Andy arrived on time, did a great job and "worked clean" which is very important to me. He's also a very nice, friendly fellow. I'd definitely hire him again.

Super duper experience! Andy gave me an estimate over the phone, we scheduled a day and he showed up on time. Very communicative about his schedule during the day and during the process! He was very careful in mask off the bathroom and fixtures, ventilated the area and cleaned up. Great answering all my questions and following-up with my additional questions. I had great concerns about the smell, but his ventilation while he was working was enough. It does smell the day of the painting, but smell went away over night.

Five years ago this company refinished bathtubs in our home and our daughter's home. We have been extremely pleased. The tub in our daughter's home developed a couple of chips. I emailed the company to see if they could be repaired. I immediately got a response stating it could be repaired. My daughter made an appointment and they came out and did the repairs. The tub looks brand new again!

It turned out even better than expected - the estimate was quick and straight forward, within the week one of their surfacing experts was out and completed the job as described and he was vary cautious to mask off the entire bathroom - care taken to consolidate mess and keep surrounding areas unpainted. Very personable, great advice, excellent craftsmanship. I got 3 bids, all about the same price - Porcelite was most professional and thorough in the initial meeting - best impression.

We're happy, and got a discount by getting two tubs done at once. They were on-time, neat, polite, efficient, and they warned us in advance that there'd be a lingering odor for about two days. Exactly right.

The response was great - they were able to squeeze our job onto the schedule in a very narrow time frame right around Thanksgiving, before guests arrived. Andy actually came a little early (all the better), answered all my questions, was very focused and efficient. He did a fantastic job (our tub looks brand new), and was the consummate professional. The experience was great! I played phone tag with Mr. L'heureux for a couple of days (due to my teaching schedule). When we connected he was very understanding about scheduling and we set up the appointment for the Friday of a weekend I'd be spending out of town. But he called back a couple of days later with a cancellation and we were able to push the date up. Andy was scheduled to come between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m. He called and left a message that he would be there at 7:15. He arrive right on time (which was GREAT because I needed to get to work on time). He explained what was going to happen and I left for work. When I got home from work, the door to the bathroom was closed and the fan was running. Does the house smell? Sure. But my house is fairly small and it wasn't overwhelming. The tub looks GREAT! And he shined up the drain and overflow. He even touched up a spot that had chipped on my toilet. Andy was professional and locked up my house when he left. I haven't taken a bath in that tub in YEARS because of the shape it was in. I'm looking forward to the first bath once the tub has cured!!

We called to make an appointment and they came out the same week. The process took about 4-5 hours. He put on a space suit and went to work. The porcelain needs to cure for about 48 hours, during which time it can not be used. A bathroom fan helps to exhaust the fumes. It looks fantastic!

Hired this company based on excellent reviews from Angie's list. The tub had some sort of design etched into the side and the drain was rusted. The tub is located in a house we purchased as an investment, so it is unoccupied. Prior to the refinishing, we removed the tile surrounding the tub so that the entire tub could be refinished. Andy removed the drain, covered the fixtures, papered the wall to protect it and refinished the tub. He was prompt, courteous, and cleaned up thoroughly. The tub looks fantastic and I paid exactly what was quoted, which included a discount. I was not in the house during the process, so can't comment much more on that, however other family members were able to work in the house while the work was being done, so the odor was tolerable. They used the window in the bathroom for ventilation. I checked the tub 2 days later and there is no lingering smell. I would highly recommend this contractor.

Dan was extremely helpful and professional, even on the phone. The tub refinishing process is fairly simple and we only wanted white (not a custom color). He priced out the project over the phone and scheduled us very quickly. My husband was there to meet him. He said Dan knew exactly what he was doing, taped everything off and properly vented the area. When I came home, the bathtub was sparkling and looked brand new. It only took an afternoon and it was absolutely worth it. I also appreciate that he left very specific care instructions and that will help me keep it beautiful for years to come.

They re-did the entire sink and it looks gorgeous. I've already recommended them to my brother. It took them 4 hours, start to finish. I've tried to do it myself and the first time lasted 2 years and the second lasted 6 months. They were neat, clean and fast. There was no dust. He put a fan in the window for an exhaust. It's beautiful. They respond quickly and are professional. They are also very courteous.

Everything went well. The tub looks like new! I'm very glad I had this done. Wish I'd done it years ago.

It went great. We were initially concerned about possible fumes during this process. (Another company had done my mother's house, and it was horrible...you couldn't even be in her house.) Andy did an excellent job ventilating while he was working. He had our bathroom door open, and we could NOT smell any fumes! Our bathtub looks absolutely incredible! Andy went over care instructions for our new tub surface. He also gave us literature so that we knew what types of things we should use. We really appreciate the extra time he took to make sure we understood. He was extremely pleasant to deal with. Before he left, he took our box fan and mounted it into the bathroom window so that we would not have any problems with fumes. GREAT JOB!

MADE THE BATHROOM LOOK LIKE NEW, GREAT JOB.

Owner Dan is very pleasant and accommodating on the phone and seemed to be an expert on the whole topic of bathtub refinishing. On the appointed day, the worker guy (name escapes me) showed up a little early and got right to work. It took 3-4 hrs. He applied 2 coats, a non-slip surface on the bottom, then 4 more coats. Care was taken to ventilate the bathroom and to make sure our curious kitten was secured so she didn't jump in. You can't use the tub for 48 hrs afterward. We were given advice on which cleaning products to use and which to avoid to maintain the pristine look of our new tub. The finished product looks great - we highly recommend Porcelite.

I found them through Angie's list and chose them because of their excellent score and the coupon for Angie's members didn't hurt either. The only thing I didn't expect was how strong the odor was. I am not sure whether it was the stripping or the finishing or both but it is still strong this morning (they were here yesterday afternoon) even after a night of running the exhaust fan. They did use a window fan to help with the odor. I think that the odor is just part of the process and not a problem with this contractor. Happily the smell is gradually fading and the bathtub looks great. For those with only one shower/tub be warned that the tub needs to cure for 48 hours.

An excellent job in every way. Andy arrived a few minutes early, was courteous and professional and did some extra preparation work getting the tub and sink ready. Everything went smoothly and I recommend this company to anyone considering this type of project.
