Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing

Everything went BEAUTIFULLY. I have been wanting to do this for years. The first place I called was from a business card I received several years ago. The gal who answered couldn't answer any of my questions. So I decided to sign up with Angie's List and Porcelite had received a good rating. I called Porcelite and spoke with Karen. She was professional, curteous and was able to answer all of my questions. I wasn't sure how much remodeling I wanted to do so they sent Andy out for an estimate and to look over what I wanted done. Andy was timely and again, professional and courteous. There was absolutely no hard sell. Andy did the actual refinishing, it was completed in half a day, there was almost no paint odor to deal with. The tub looked fabulous! About 3 weeks later I accidently scrapped some red paint on it from my scrub brush. I called Procelite, the gal (Kerri, or Geri, or Terri??) scheduled an appointment for Andy to come and look at it but also offered to call Andy and see if we could take care of it over the phone. I was so grateful when called back and Andy have given her a list of possible remedies and the second one worked, saving me money! I would feel good recommending Porcelite to any of my friends.

It was great. Saved me a ton over replacing my shower, which was the other option we were considering. Everyone I worked with was friendly and professional. Great experience.

Andy, was right on time, explained everything he was going to do and promptly got to work. He covered everything and was very careful to leave no mess! He did an excellent job and I would certainly refer Procelite to my friends. My tub looks fantastic and I couldn't be happier with the job he did!

Bathtub looks FANTASTIC... actually better than new!! Entire process was easy and pleasant, from phone contacts for estimate and scheduling to completion of the work. I even called to change my mind about drain finish... "that's not a problem at all." On install day Andy arrived on time, talked us through the entire process and confirmed our preferences. He even informed us that his equipment was loud, so we wouldn't be startled. He used an exhaust fan throughout the work to draw dust and fumes out of the house... helped immensely to minimize mess and fumes! He worked steadily and efficiently, while also respecting us, our pet, and our home. Clean up was meticulous. Before he left, Andy showed us the finished job and gave very complete instructions on use and care -- both orally and in writing. He even gave some additional care tips from his own experience with the new Porcelite finish. We couldn't have been happier and would highly recommend this company!

They were professional, timely, and he explained all options. Very respectful of my time. Excellent Service and a relief to know there is someone out there doing this amount of high quality work! Will use again should the need arise.

Spectacular. That's the only way to describe the results we got from the project. Stained, badly etched old tub got a beautiful facelift...shiny new surface that truly looks like new. Chipped and cracked old wall tile were patched and made to look perfect. I purposely waited to do my review until several weeks after the job was done to be sure the finish stayed bright and strong. Everything has performed wonderfully, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. A bit spendy for a 2+-day project, but we got the results we had hoped for. Andy was great...very responsive and accommodating.

I found Porcelite on Angie's List. I called them up and they clearly walked me through all of the details. They took the time to answer all of my questions. On the project day, they showed up at the scheduled time and took the exact amount of time they told me the job would take. They even were kind enough to remove my old bathtub drain fixture for me (I was planning on replacing it). The bathtub looks like new!

Joe scraped off the old tub finish and applied a new finish to the tub. He also added a no-slip grainy texture. The whole process took him about 4 hours, which was exactly what he had quoted. He took time to vent the bathroom so there would not be a strong smell in the house. He cleaned up everything. The tub looks beautiful!

They were very professional, prompt and were courteous to the rest of the house. He kept me informed of the process of the work.

My experience was awesome! This company was a pleasure to work with. Everyone was very helpful. They provided a free estimate and brought samples of glass shower doors and countertop finishes. I was really impressed with the granite looking finishes they showed me. They were able to schedule an appointment for me pretty quick. I am so happy with my new glass shower enclosure and my countertop - it looks like real granite to me!! The job was quick and, after obtaining a few estimates, I can tell you this company had the best rate. I would definately use them again.

Excellent. Communication was very good. I dropped it off at their warehouse, the fellow helped get the one leg off that I couldn't get off. They had it ready on time, didn't complain when I couldn't pick it up right away. I had gotten another quote that was hundreds of dollars higher. The new finish looks very nice. No complaints whatsoever.

They were very responsive, answering all our questions. I couldn't believe how quickly it went and the odor wasn't that bad and didn't last that long. So happy that I don't have to rip out our old tub and all the tile (which is in excellent condition).

Joe arrived on time. He described what he was going to do and let me know what I needed to do once it dried. Informed me that you can not use a bath mat on the new surface and offered an additional $39 service of texturing the floor of the tub. Slightly more than the Angie's List discount. Drying time is two days.

First, let me say that this helped sell my home. After being on the market one week we had an offer. The bathroom was transformed. It went from a gray tiled, gray countertop and used bathtub to a complete turnaround - gleaming, shining white tub, tile throughout the bathroom and a new gray-granite speckled countertop. I was most surprised / pleased with the countertop, as I did not know how that would turn out. Very nice job by Joe in all the work in the bathroom itself. My only complaint on responsiveness had to do with their office, and handling my concerns after the job, specifically the small leaks in the tub and toilet. While possibly a shared issue, it was placed squarely on my shoulders without any consideration or kindness. I did not appreciate that level of customer service. It was settled as a 'communication' issue.

I had a tub that the bottom was wrecked because of acid used on a clogged drain. Andy did an amazing job! The tub looks brand new. He also did a sink at the same time.

Andy of Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing quoted for refinishing my bathtub. He said they would clean it, finish it and then apply a second coat of the finish. He was ready to schedule it at our convenience. He was interested but not pushy. He didn't have to come out, he was able to quote me the price over the phone. This was for an average size bathtub. Plus I had painted my bathtub several years ago and that finish is chipping. That was what they would have to clean off first.

It went well. I called three companies and the others sounded fine but Porcelite had more ratings, and all its ratings were high. They gave me one discount for Angie's List and another discount for having both inside and outside done at once. Also, they agreed to pick the tub up and return it for free. Porcelite did a great job: the tub finish looks like new, and it's a real baked-on finish, not paint or something that looks like it will crack off in a year or two. There was one minor issue that would be easy to avoid: when I first called Porcelite they said tubs take two weeks to refinish. But I also mentioned that my contractor couldn't start for more than a month, so I guess they got the idea that a month would be soon enough. When I called after a month to ask if my tub was ready, they said No, but now that they understood what I wanted, they'd get it done in another week. And they did. So this was just a minor miscommunication on both sides, with no serious consequences. I was pleased to be able to reuse an old bathtub and not send it to a construction landfill. It is my opinion that Porcelite is a good company, both as to the refinishing they do and as to their business practices and customer service.

First, a representative of the company came to evaluate the job. He explained in detail the whole process. He also brought a palette of the possible colors. I wish, these samples (just a little bit larger than a post stamp), would be larger in size. The color I picked, unfortunately, looks much lighter on the floor. The job was done in a professional manner, though Andy and his team had couple of bumps on the road. They had to remove the toilet bowl before preparing and spraying the floor with paint. Unexpectedly, in the process of disconnecting the toilet bowl an old rusty pipe broke. Fortunately, a handyman was working in my kitchen at the same time. He helped Andy to shot the water down and referred him to a plumber. Andy hired the plumber to replace the broken valve and paid for it from his own pocket.

The technician was prompt and efficient and and cleaned up everything before he left. He did a great job refinishing and re-caulking the tub in a gleaming white. I have use Porcelite before. They are a great company.

We just wish we would have had it done sooner -- the tub looks great! This service was done just over 2 years ago and the tub still looks great, although the bottom has some discoloration. The company provided a detailed list of cleaning instructions and I can't promise that I've adhered to that entirely so the discoloration is probably somewhat my fault. In reality, bathtubs seldom look pristine so we are just happy that we had it refinished at all.

Based on reviews on Angie's site, I selected Porcelite - and glad I did! Beginning with the scheduling and continuing through the completion of the project, everything was done very professionally and courteously. The technician arrived promptly at agreed time, reviewed the job with me (explaining various options), then set about his task. He took great care to make sure everything was protected in bathroom and even removed his shoes every time he came in (though not a house rule)! I was in the house the entire time and was not disturbed until he came down for the final walk-through. We were very happy with the finished product and would not hesitate to recommend Porcelite to anyone!

This was a straightforward job - they had to strip off the peeling finish on our bathtub and refinish it. Both steps take about a day, plus another couple days for the finish to dry enough to use it. They were great at educating us about proper care. A few days after it dried and I began bathing my toddler in it again, I noticed a slight bubble. I called them and they came out the next day and fixed it. If you are not a DIY'er at all, make sure they don't take out your existing drain. Luckily I have a man in my life who knows how to do those types of things, otherwise I would have had to call in an expert to reinstall the drain.

Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Andy is so personable; you just knew you could trust him from the moment you met him. He explained everything very thoroughly; brought up things I would never have though of. Asked questions before doing anything he wasn't sure of. The quality of the work was excellent. I didn't expect it to look as great as it does. Andy even polished up my faucets that were very dingy so they look like new. I wasn't expecting that. They did the work in about 6 hours which I thought was wonderful. It's always inconvenient to lose the use of your shower, but they made the entire experience a good one. They did a very good job of clean-up also.
