Porcelite Bathtub Refinishing

Andy re-enameled our claw foot tub, which was quite chipped and looking pretty shabby. It now looks brand new! Worth every penny. Professional. Responsive. Can't say enough good things.

Our claw foot tub is over 100yrs old and it was showing! The bottom of the tub felt like sandpaper, so much so that taking a bath was not an option. I found Porcelite on Angies List and Joe answered the phone on the second ring. He had a cancellation for the following week and I took the appointment. I left a lock box outside the front door and Joe let himself in, performed the job and left without a trace, except for a "Kohler White" clawfoot tub in my bathroom! I couldn't believe it was the same tub, it now matches the toilet and sink, what a difference. Thank you Joe and the Porcelite team for a job well done. These guys are professional and get the job done on time and clean up completely after themselves.

this work was to be done at my son's house in St. Paul. In spite of11 inches of snow, I traveled to St. Paul, snow blowed the parking area and sidewalk for the service man. He appeared and went into the kitchen where the farmhouse type sink was to be refinished. He looked at it, said he would have to strip the sink before he could refinish it and it would cost additional charges. I was ok with the additional charges but then he indicated that the did not have enough time to do the job that afternoon and said we would have to reschedule. His next available time was mid-March. We were trying to get this done while my son was on vacation and his dog was at our house. He just was not interested in staying there to do the work. He was more interested in getting home that afternoon. I called the company and while they were sorry about the situation, there was nothing that they could do about it. Perhaps they might have some time the following Wednesday afternoon but would not know until Monday, February 24. They would call me. Well, they didn't call so I called them. I finally got a response later that afternoon that they wouldn't be able to some Wednesday either. I called back but got their voicemail. I left a message expressing our disappointment and said we would try another company. I did not hear back from them again. I would not use them.

Excellent job. Debated whether to replace tub or refinish it. At Menards one day ran into employee who recommended Porcelite after just having tub refinished by them again after 23 years. |Finish looks great; caulking around tub is perfect. Wife is happy!:) Quick story: Four weeks later our three great-grand-kids came to visit, and after digging for worms in the garden came in to clean up. "This should be a test of the refinishing job, I thought." Ugly brown ring in the tub when they left. Took the Bon-Ami (recommended by Porcelite), swiped the ring a couple of times, and good-as-new! We're very happy.

My "new" bathroom is amazing. I tried for 16 years to love my pink and maroon bathroom but it was no use. Just finding a shower curtain was a massive effort. But the floor and wall tile was high quality tile, in excellent shape and there was no need to remove it. I had seen a few home shows where they had used this technique to revive older bathrooms and I wanted to try it. Enter Porcelite. Andy helped me with selecting the right colors (did you know there's a difference between Kohler white and American Standard white?) and provided great advice, like making sure to keep some texture on the bottom of the bathtub to reduce slipping. He showed me some cool floor finishing options (it's a different type of coating than the wall and bathtub glaze.) Karin and Joe were also incredibly flexible when it came to a whole bunch of schedule juggling to work with the plumber who was replacing the fixtures in the bathroom and I'm really grateful they did everything they did. Now, for a fraction of what it would have cost to remove and replace the tile, my bathroom feels like a brand new room! Joe removed the toilet and sink and carefully masked before spraying. Everything turned out beautifully. The colors make the room feel much lighter and all the finishes are flawless now. If you have a post-war bathroom with colored tile that you don't love, you owe it to yourself to explore this budget-friendly option. I feel I got amazing value for what I paid. Seriously, I wish I had done this 10 years ago!

The work went very well. The installer was courteous, professional, and respectful of our home. We could not have asked for more. The result was first class in every respect.

I was able to have all of my questions answered before making my final decision. Someone called the day before to confirm the appointment date and time. The person was on time and completed the job when estimated. The area was clean when finished. I was given verbal and written care instructions. I was given the number to call if I had any additional questions or concerns. And, best of all, the shower stall looks brand new! I'm very satisfied and highly recommend this company. I will use them again for my second bathroom remodel.

Very good masking of the tile floor and walls. Joe showed great care in all aspects of his work. The Result was a 34- year-old faded yellow fixture absolutely transformed into a gleaming white, like- new, modern bath/shower. He was able to control odors and dust by exhausting it to the outside. He Didn't use the ceiling fan, but ran a large exhaust tube to a window in an adjacent room. He cleaned Up very nicely when the process was finished. Joe obviously took great pride in his work. He Labored at least six hours without a break. The company can be proud to employ such a considerate and talented "Artisan." I'd recommend him by name with absolutely no reservations whatsoever.

Joe the service provider arrived exactly on time. He estimated it would take about 4 hours and he was right on the money. He was very professional and did a great job. The bathroom looked brand new after he was done. He caulked around the tub and there was not a single sign that there was any work done. The bathroom was spotless. A job well done. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to spruce up a bathroom without spending a ton of money.

He arrived on time and was very efficient at doing his work. He removed the tub drain and the overflow hardware; cleaned out the old tub seal. The whole job took about 4 hours. He brought his own supplies and ventilation. All I had to do is take off the bathroom storm window. The hardest part was not being able to use the tub for 2 days while it cured. We had a non-slip surface put in the bottom of the tub which we like a lot. It is not abrasive on the feet. Now we can eliminate the tub mat we were using. He put in a new tub drain and overflow I had purchased and, Oh Joy, no leaks. The tapeing and draping was impeccable. There is no trace of paint anywhere it should not be. I am extremely happy with the job that was done and would hire them again. Our installer was prompt, professional, experienced, and courteous.

They were good. The guy was helpful. They seemed to want to do what was in our best interest; which was nice. They have good customer service and they have a customer-centric approach to sales. They are very consultative which was useful.

Everything went very well and we're extremely pleased with the results. They arrived as scheduled and left us with a sparkling white bathtub. We also had them do the non-slip finish on the bottom and are very happy with it. It makes such a difference in the bathroom making it look bigger and like new. We are very happy that we decided to do this and that we found someone that would do a thoroughly professional job!

They were very nice to talk with over the phone when setting up the appointment. They even went over details that I hadn't anticipated asking about. When the day came for them to come to our home to do the work, they were very punctual and respectful of the space. They came in, closed off the space to protect from other debris and dust and cleaned everything up before leaving. It's as if they weren't even there (even though the new tub finish proves otherwise). They even spent extra time redoing the caulking around areas near the tub that they didn't even need to do.

I called Porcelite about one month in advance and booked them based on reviews here on Angies List and two personal recommendations. Andy called one day in advance to confirm arrival time and other details for the job. He arrived on schedule and went to work. It took about 1/2 day. The results were unbelievable. Andy is clearly a pro at this work and very professional. An old beat up tub can sparkle again! I would highly recommend this company for this type of work.

The installer was professional, clean, and very organized. They were right on time and did a quality job. They also cleaned up and left good instructions on how to take care of it.

Andy was great to work with from the start. He communicated well and delivered just as I expected. He rearranged his schedule to complete the work while we were out of town, which was quite helpful as we didn't have to wait for any cure, nor did we have to worry about any nuisance odors with our small children. We were very pleased with the quality of work. Our shower looks brand new and I shake my head when I think back on how bad it used to look. We only wish we would have done it sooner. I am writing this review instantly after service has been performed because I am AMAZED!!! I saw the ad for Porcelite in my quarterly Angie's list mailer & was a little skeptical that they could really refinish my bathroom countertop, tub & tile and make it look like new. It was in really bad shape prior to service. The team from Porcelite was so professional and helpful, gave me a quote over the phone, and then were in contact to schedule the apt, sent me reminders, etc. Andy even arrived a little later than his normal start time so that I could take my daughter to daycare and get back home. He was very professional and upfront about the services being performed and what to expect. He offered great suggestions and was happy to answer all my questions. I found him to be a very honest and nice guy, which is hard to find these days! After slaving away in my bathroom all day - I am truly AMAZED at the results. It really does look like brand new!! WOW!!! I wish had done this years ago, and not just now as we're preparing to sell the house... I will be telling everyone about my amazing experience! Thank you Porcelite! Good call backs and appointment set up was easy. I had to change dates, and no hassle. I used Angie's list coupon also no hassle. Service was on time and clean and fast. total time in and out was about four hours. The results were what looks like a brand new tub complete with caulking. The only down side were two things: - I had to re-install the drain hardware myself, which may not be easy for everyone or you may need a plumber. The workman did not want to do that the same day, because the finish around the drain might get ruined, so that was a good thing to not do right away, of course, but left me with the task to do later. - There was some overspray on the new fixtures, and took some time to clean, but did come clean. Otherwise, everything was well explained and really nice work on an old very beat up cast iron tub. I would recommend this company to friends and family. J
