After gross mishandling of my order: continual misinformation, persistently irresponsible & inept service & scheduling Pods created a costly mess. When I chose Pods, I set the pickup and delivery of my unit to coincide with my arrival in Minneapolis (from Portland, Oregon), and the first day I could gain access to our new apartment, which was May 1st. When I called pods, around the 18th of may, to change the pick up date from the 23rd of May, to the 24th, I was notified the earliest delivery date for either of these days would not be the until the 8th of June! We’d be living in our new apartment without any of our items, for over a week. My brother in law had taken the day off from work to help us move into our apartment on the 1st. Because of this delay, he had to reschedule his day off to the 8th. I also had to reschedule a rental truck I’d reserved to facilitate the move. A new date to access the pod at their facility in Eagan, Minnesota was set for the 8th of June. My Pod was picked up on the 24th of May. I called on the 3rd of June, to confirm that I would be able to access my pod on the 8th. After spending close to an hour on the phone with Pods, I was informed that my delivery date would not be until somewhere around the 20th of June! I told Pods this was totally unacceptable, and I was put into another complaint services voicemail to explain my situation and wait to hear back from them. Again, I had to cancel my plans, and the plans my brother in law had made for the second time, because of Pods misinformation and ineptitude. At this point, June 3rd, my complaint with Pods was recorded. Eventually, through multiple phone calls and incredible conversations with clueless and unhelpful customer service representatives, I was able to secure a time to access my Pod for the 12th of June and the following Sunday, the 16th of June. Again, my brother in law changed his day-off to help us, a tall order, since so far, this ordeal had obnoxiously complicated and costly for him to keep requesting days off to help us, only to have those plans repeatedly changed. Because my journey with Pods had been fraught with so much trouble, misinformation, and incorrect scheduling, I thought to call Pods on the 11th, just to confirm I would be able to access my pod. I am glad I did because they informed me that, somehow, the date had been set for that very day, the 11th, and my pod was waiting for me and, for some reason, it would not be available on the 12th. They said, the earliest I would be able to schedule a time to access my pod would be the 24th of June! A full month from the pick-up date in Portland, Oregon. Pods assured me I had no recourse in the matter and put me into another voicemail to lodge my complaint, Kimberly Williams, who would be out of the office until the 18th (one week later) of June to address the issue. Again, this was incredible to hear. It was especially frustrating that, at that time, my Pod was actually located in Eagen, but was mysteriously inaccessible. Again, I called customer service, and after some lengthy phone calls with Pods’ now consistently very unhelpful customer service, I was able to schedule an access time for the 12th of June. Again, my brother in law changed his day off work, and I requested another day off of my new job (I’d only been working at my new job a week and, with this issue, I was becoming a problem employee). Thankfully, I was able to access my Pod and remove half the contents. In retelling this incredible story to their claims resolution representative, Kimberly Williams, she informed me Pods would only refund $100 of my order. I had asked for 40% off my $3200 bill. She held her offer at $100, but in order to get the money, I would have to sign a gag order not to discuss my ordeal, or complain about Pods on social media, or write an account such as the one I just did and submit it to you, Angie's List, the Better Business Bureau, or any other customer protection agency.

Couldn't have been a better experience. The driver was on time dropping off the pod, we filled it, they came back picked up, and stored it for the 3 months until we found a new home we loved. Again they were on time, prompt and our stuff was safe and sound and delivered right to our new home.

They delivered on time and on budget. I ended up with the unit in front of my house for almost a year while trying to sell my house due to a divorce. I ended up not selling and moving back in. The one thing they could have done better is tell me all the snow must be removed all around the POD when they come to pick it up. They did try to pick it up even with all the snow, but it was packed in to tight. As soon as I had the snow removed they were able to pick up immediately before it snowed again. Good communication on the local crews part. I was charged fairly for the services and I would use them again if I do end up moving.

My entire experience with PODs was quite positive. All the deliveries and pickups were done on time and in a professional manner. We used 2 separate Pods to help us when we were getting our house ready to sell and when we were in transitional housing for a few months. We packed the first pod ourselves and had professional movers pack the second one. NOTHING was broken during the entire move. This was quite impressive considering the amount of furniture and boxes that were stored in the pods. My only concern is that the rental and storage fees can be quite expensive. But for us, it was worth the extra cost to not have to move our stuff multiple times. Our only other option would have been to use a storage unit. This would have meant double moving everything. By using the pods, we loaded them once and unloaded them once. It was so convenient! For a local move, I would recommend PODs.

I called up PODS and reserved and scheduled my POD with no issues. It was delivered on the day I requested and I received a phone call about 30 minutes before the delivery and before pick up occurred. It was a very easy process and so far as worked well. Our POD has been returned to the storage facility until we are able to move into our new home and then I will be calling to schedule an additional drop off and pick up.

I began planning to move cross-country from Minnesota to Arizona. After hearing good things about PODS, I contacted PODS to receive a quote through their website. I never heard back from them. I tried calling also, but only reached an automated service. After leaving a message requesting a quote, I was also never contacted.

Terrible, unprofessional, unreliable. 1. Pickup in Charlotte, NC: I hired movers (non PODs related) to pack the POD, and they unfortunately did not complete the job properly. I spent hours on the phone with PODs trying to delay the pickup date of my POD unit until I could scramble to get help to pack the unit properly. PODs was not accommodating at all and the wait time to reach a representative on the phone is astronomically long. 2. Delivery in Minneapolis: Horrible, not on time, lied to about delivery information. Not only did I have a guaranteed delivery date, but I paid extra for guaranteed time so I could hire movers to help me unload the POD. I called PODs twice before the promised delivery date because I noticed online that the date had been moved back. I was assured both times that the computer was wrong, and that my POD would be on time. That did not happen. In fact, the date my POD was supposed to arrive it hadn't even left a warehouse in Atlanta. Despite the fact that there were apparently notes all over my account telling all representatives to immediately refer me to an and quot;upper leveland quot; person, that did not happen. So, I showed up with my movers (who rightfully charged me for their time) and no POD arrived. It came 2 days later, and the interim was not time I had to be waiting (thus paying extra for guaranteed delivery date/time). 3. Management of delivery error: Even though I was given a and quot;specialand quot; phone number to call Lyle at PODs with any questions because of my situation, I still spent hours on hold and found him useless with regards to tracking the progress of my already delayed POD. 3. Resolution of mistake by PODs - I still have yet to see a penny in compensation for the extra cost and time this company's mistakes has created for me.
Description of Work: PODs company used to move my one bedroom condominium from Charlotte, NC to Minneapolis. I paid extra for guaranteed delivery time, as opposed to just guaranteed date.

We sold our house and we had to move out on the 15th and we couldn't move in until the 28th. The PODS are great if you are in this situation as you get a month of storage so you can have the PODS delivered on the 1st of June and have them pick them up on the 15th and deliver one or both on certain days you move into your new place. This is the ONLY reason I needed a pod type of solution. Don't need to worry about packing and unpacking and packing again and unpacking. Piece of advice: Look into all the kinds of PODs they offer. we got the 16X20 and really they dont work well. first off you really dont want to stack your stuff up 16 feet high and many things cannot support much weight on top of it. So that really shrunk these PODs. I just asked what they advised and they told me these. I had to get a U-Haul to move some extra stuff we couldnt fit into all our PODs. To get a 3rd pod was over $400. We moved out of a 2,200 sq foot house. Had patio table/ Lawn stuff in shed too. Someone told me you can get a big POD that has compartments for rooms and I wish I knew that beforehand. Now the bad part: You literally will be on hold for 15 minutes and when you get a hold of someone to make changes or confirm things. I got a call around 8:00 p.m. on the 13th stating they were going to come pick it up on the 14th. I had to wait on hold that night 20 minutes to tell them that's wrong. 2nd BEWARE THE QUOTES they give you. The people you talk with tell you things and give you quotes but then when you get the bill it's completely different than what they told you. Then when you call in the rep tells you, and quot;well the quote here states this amount and that's what we charged you.and quot; I then tell them well that's not what the lady quoted me. I actually notice the billing was wrong before the final billing as they don't bill you a lump sum. They bill you for each delivery and I finally added it up and it was way off from what the representative told me. So I called in a few weeks ago and one lady said, and quot;oh that's correct I'll adjust that.and quot; Well, now when I called in about the final billing the lady has no record of me calling in about that and literally will argue with you. She then put me on hold again after I was already on hold for 15 minutes for another 15 minutes. Then the new lady told me she will base this decision on the paper quote. I then emailed her the email I got from PODS stating and quot; We'd like to thank you for placing an order with PODS and plan on providing you with the best moving and storage experience ever. Below is your order information. If you see any errors or need to make any changes, please call us at the number below. and quot; She then changed her tune to I will base my decision on your billing issue on the recorded call. Seriously!? You just said opposite until I sent you the email PODs sent me. They try to catch you making a mistake on words versus really looking into billing issue. So the only reason I would ever use PODs again is if I record my call when getting a quote and have them repeat it 10 times from the representative. I don't like dealing with companies who believe they are right first and customer is wrong second. Bad service model for a service company.

PODS was very helpful - they rented us a unit for the month prior to the sale, and because we were close and it was for a non-profit fund-raiser, they donated the delivery and pickup charges. Everyone I spoke with and worked with at PODS was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The driver was on time for delivery and pickup. The manager called me after our event to see how everything went. I was very happy with the experience and would not hesitate to use them again.

I had to move my furniture out the house during home improvement project. I had to rent some PODS to store my things. We made arrangements to have them deliver the POD. The company was supposed to pull the permit for the POD. I spoke with Minneapolis government and they explained the company had to pull the permit. They delievered the POD on time, but they did not pull the permit. I called to speak with them about this. The woman I spoke with was not very friendly and seemed aloof to my concerns. She was not very customer friendly and I have gone with another company. I understand things happen, but they were not courteous and certainly unhelpful.

Description of Work: I went to their website, but I had so many questions and found it rather confusing so I decided to call the local PODs center in Minneapolis. I left a message but was never called back. I did get an online quote but I think there most likely would have been additional fees that you would only really know about if you actually talked with a customer service rep.

On May 4th, I had them deliver a pod to my home and put it on the street. Because they put it on the street, they had to purchase a $80 permit from the city. I still have the pod. May 4th-June 4th. June 28th, I called them to set up arrangements to have the pod moved to another location on July 2nd. When I spoke with the person, we reviewed what needed to happen, another permit required. I got a confirmation that they would deliver on July 2nd. On July 1st, around 9pm at night, I called in a panic, because the confirmation didn’t have what part of day it would be delivered. I spoke with someone, Barbara, and she told me not to worry, it’s scheduled between 1pm and 4pm. She also said she couldn’t find any other information regarding the move. She re-entered the info about the move. I asked her to assure me that everything would be ok. She said there was no way for her to determine anything and for me to call back the following morning on the 2nd. I wasn’t able to call back until after 1pm. At that point, they said the permit wasn’t obtained, so we won’t be able to have it out to you until the 8th. Everything I needed was in that pod, clothing, medication, etc. The last person I spoke with, said he was a supervisor, he looked it up, and our conversation ended saying he would have it there by 8am on the 3rd. He said whatever expenses I incurred because of this, they would reimburse me. I had to leave my car in the spot where the pod was going to go. I had to take cab to a hotel, had to take my dog with me. I had to pay $350. I took a cab back to the location the following morning, and the pod had not been delivered. I called back, and the supervisor was not in. I talked with someone else, and didn’t receive a return call. I called back again, and they referred me to someone else, Mark Carpenter-he gave me his extension. I explained to him my conversation with the first supervisor, and wanted to know if they could get this resolved by noon, they who would be authorized to get a hotel set up for me the next night. Said he would do that. It ended up with him not being able to do anything. He suggested that I go and buy a blow up mattress and camp out in the apartment until the 8th. I am a senior citizen, which makes that very difficult for me. Nothing was resolved. I ended up calling the BBB, and the attorney general’s office and left a message as well. Nothing has happened. I had to sleep in my car, and on the floor with my dog. I had to call them on the 7th to confirm the time of day again. It was finally delivered on the 8th around 8:30am. The problem is the whole inconvenience and expense because they didn’t get it delivered on the original time and date agreed upon. They had plenty of time to get the permit (they needed 48 hours), which they had. I have left numerous messages with the CEO, etc, and have never heard anything back as of yet.
