PC Bits

I just purchased a new PC and found that it had an overheating issue with the CPU. I checked and discovered that the stock Intel fan and heatsink assembly would not stay firmly in place, due to the poor cam-lock fasteners used. I use the PC for my solo law practice, and couldn't afford to have it out of commission for very long. I brought the unit into PC Bits, where Dean and Eric recommended an upgrade to a better cooling unit. They ordered the new part and installed it a few days later. They re-affixed the existing fan so that I could take the PC back home and safely operate it in the meantime. When the new fan arrived, I brought the PC back, Eric installed it and ran a benchmark test. He monitored the CPU temperature to make sure everything was functioning properly. All the while, they stayed in contact with me via email to keep me apprised. A few hours later it was done. They only charged $25 labor, and didn't even mark up the cost of the part! With tax, it was only $92! Their professionalism was top-flight, they expertly performed what needed to be done in a timely manner, and did it for a very reasonable price. I would certainly recommend PC Bits to my friends and colleagues.

He helped me get it up and running again. He said after it has not been used for a while, it sometimes doesn't boot up properly. He had me check all the connections and then if everything was connected to turn off the computer, wait about 10 minutes and turn back on. Followed his instructions and everything worked fine. We did this all over the phone, no charge and did not have to bring machine in. For not being computer savvy, this was a big help. Walked me through everything.

Found PC BIts on Angie's list, as I was looking for a good PC repair place close to my area. Laptop was brought to their place and Dean immediately stated running a complete disk scan. He called the next day and said that the disk was fine and needed to do more checkout. He called back later that week and said that the OS was corrupted and needed to be re-installed. We preferred to have W7 rather than Vista, and the only charges were for the W7 license ($110) and time to install ($80). The laptop works great! We were very pleased with our experience. Dean is very knowledgeable and helpful and kept us informed on his progress as he was determining the problem. The charges were explained to us, BEFORE, the meter started and the time-comsuming diagnostics before he called with the solution were not charged for. I recommend his shop for PC work.

He is still fabulous. He got my computer working again. He is amazing. I had some kind of a virus. My computer was just shutting down and I don't remember what it was doing, but it had a virus and he took it off. I like him, he is a good guy. He gets the job done, he is extremely busy and he is really reasonably priced.

I have called him a couple of times since September 2010 and he has been great. He did not charge me anything during his recent visit as I only had few questions. He is a very good person. He is helpful and wants to help you with your computer.

Work was completed within estimated timeframe, and at slightly less cost than original quote.

My wife found the company on Angie's List, so we decided to try using them. I thought he was very good. I've never had that kind of work done before, so it's tough to judge the price. The price felt good for what they did.

We did free diagnostics and found that the video card was bad and installed a new one. He defragged it, put in a free security program, and gave all sorts of advice. He did not recommend a tune up because he didn't recommend that we put too much money into it.
