PAUL PETERSDORF

This was a very bad experience. Paul Petersdorf took three months to do a job that should have taken one to one and a half weeks. He told me that he fell off of a roof and almost died several years ago, and that he had a multitude of health problems as a result. I felt my only option was to be patient and kind, and I was exceedingly so. Day after day Paul did not show up to do the work. I had paid him half down and half was to be given upon completion. We would have an agreement that he would show up on a certain day and most of the time he was a no show, over and over again. This was very stressful for me. He would later claim to have been sick with any number of different illnesses that came up over the three months. This was insurance work. I had very specific specifications for what was to be done on my exterior porch. Paul did the porch last, and claimed to me that his estimate did not include most of the work that he had bid upon. Because some of the specifics were not explicitly written up in his estimate I felt I had no choice but to let it go. He did not do all the work that was agreed upon when he did the bid. Worst of all, Paul did the wrapping of the porch sills incorrectly. He was to do a replacement of aluminum that was correctly installed and he did not do this. Instead he put aluminum trim on the front and on the inside but left a gap under the windows in which water seeps and then gets behind the siding. I had dark stains running down the sides of my white porch from water that comes in contact with the cedar boards. It is unsightly and the wood on my porch will rot if this is not redone correctly. Paul also broke parts of my screen door which he did not repair, and there is a quarter inch gap where cold air comes from outside into my kitchen under the door. I had a thick line of frost from condensing moisture under this door all winter. Paul Petersdorf told me that he refused to fix these problems.

He was extremely nice and seemed very knowledgeable. He said he would call me in the next few days and make arrangements to come over and take care of our job. Tomorrow marks the 2 week mark since our conversation and I havent heard a word from him. Very disappointing. I am now moving on to other companies.

We framed and roofed the garage ourselves and we decided to call Paul to do the siding. He got to us as soon as he could and it only took him a week to get the job done. He is amazing at what he does, and he is a perfectionist so the work is always great.
