WE DO NOT WORK ON PROJECTS BELOW $30,000. We only finish/remodel basements and build custom energy efficient homes. Yes, we can build you a deck or addition only if we finish your basement. It is very easy to work with us; after you hire us, you come to the largest showroom in the Midwest, choose finishes for your project (cabinets, granite, tile, fixtures, flooring, etc.) and we deliver all the goods and install them. No need to go to multiple stores to buy products. We make it into a ''one stop shop''. On Time Contractors, Inc (OTC) is a fourth generation builder/remodeling company. Our mission is to provide affordable quality craftsmanship and outstanding customer service along with the timely completion of all projects. We pride ourselves in providing high quality labor and materials while offering full two year warranty on (remodels, plumbing, HVAC, electric) and 10 years structural warranty. Please feel free to contact us with comments/ questions or set up the time for a FREE estimate and design consultation or visit us at our showroom/office at 1920 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis MN 55418. Please note: OTC is not accepting or estimating jobs under $30,000. Visit us at www.OnTimeContractors.com for special offers and coupons. Typical basement finish of 800 sq ft with one bath, bedroom and family room in homes built after 1980s costs $40,000. In older homes where floors need to be broken down to run plumbing for the bath and install egress window 800 sq ft basement would cost $50,000. We do not estimate/take/build projects if a budget is below $30,000
I called to get a flooring quote (approx. $5,000 job). They intentionally asked me what I thought the cost/size would be. At that point they let me know they don't waste their time with jobs under $15,000. I chose not to waste my time at that point and told them I would put the report on Angie's List. They didn't seem to care.
Description of Work: They let me know that I was a waste of their time since they don't do anything under $15,000. At least I didn't waste my time talking to them anymore!

Pavel and Igor met with us on 12/19/11 and began work the following week. During the initial meeting, they measured the space, provided a design plan and a detailed breakdown of the costs with a projected time line, and answered all of our questions. The entire project was estimated to take 8 weeks or less which was right on. This was our first major home project and it went very smoothly. I asked for a few changes to the contract, Pavel and his crew were very accommodating and worked hard to keep the job moving smoothly. I had lots of questions which were answered to my full satisfaction. My phone calls and emails were answered promptly. These guys went out of their way to help make this a good experience for us. They did many things without charging us. I really felt as though we were a team. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: The company did not offer a design plan with the materials cost broken out. All they offer is a bid for finishing my basement, which they told me over the phone would be $24,000 for a 600 sq foot area including materials and labor. I believe the firm should have been willing to provide the design and specifications of materials required as part of the Angie's List Big Deal. Pablo, the person I spoke to on the phone told me to apply for a refund of my $50 since I was not interested in his $24,000 bid. He said they do not break out separate costs for materials and labor. I would like to receive a $50 refund for this big deal. How do I receive this?

I spoke to the customer on 1/9/2012. He inquired about an estimate & design plan. I told him, based on the description of the work that he wanted to do, the project cost will be approximately $24,000. The customer said that he wanted to spend less money than that. I told him that if we provide an estimate for him it will be that amount, based on the square footage and materials he wanted to use. I offered the customer to come out and do a drawing for him, he refused. I recommended to him to contact Angie's List and get the $50 refund for his coupon, which he purachased to save money. I don't know what else we could do differently to please this customer. All of us are very disappointed that we received unfair raiting even though we wanted to help this gentleman. Pavel Sakurets Project Manager
We first met with Pavel, the project manager in Oct., 2011 where we discussed the basics of what we wanted done. Pavel gave us very good feedback and ideas at this meeting - which is one of the reasons we decided to use On Time Contracting, Inc. as our contractor. Shortly thereafter, they began the work. There were crews of workers here throughout the process - but outside of the expected noise, you didn't even know they were there. Every worker that was here was veryfriendly & polite and every worker did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Pavel contacted us about every two - three days during the entire process to ensure that the work was being done to our expectations. He was very patient and professional whenever we needed changes done to the plan. The work was completed on time and to our complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend On Time Contracting Inc. to anyone who is looking for a contracting company.
Description of Work: On Time Contracting Inc. removed existing insulation, vapor barrier, and studs in our basement and then finished the entire basement. They provided for a full bath w/shower with ceramic tile flooring, laundry room, and mechanical room along with doors. They installed a new window, added additional heating ducts, added additional electrical outlets then sheetrocked & painted the remainder of the area including the ceiling. They installed carpet and trim in the remainder of the area. They installed recessed lighting along with 5 other light fixtures. They also removed and replaced the stairs and landing to the outside deck.

It was a bad experience. It was a special deal that I purchased. I set up an appointment and the guy called on the day of the appointment and said that if I wasn't ready to go, then he was not coming over and he slammed the phone and hung up. I wasn't happy. They wanted me to do it right away. It didn't seem that they were building a long term relationship.

Thank you for writing a review. I guess not all good intentions go unpunished. I spoke to this customer and told him that based on the scope of the work it would cost X-amount of dollars to complete this project, he said that he didn't want to spend that much and it seemed unreasonable for him. I estimated over 2000 basements and I can tell how much the project will cost without looking at it. If somebody thinks that he or she knows more about basement costs, they can go ahead and do the work themselves. I tried saving money to this ''customer'' and told him to get a refund from Angie's List that he paid $50 for, but instead he wrote a review complaining that I was trying to save him money. We would not be a number 1 company on Angie's Lists if we would not provide the best service at the best price. Pavel Sakurets Project Manager

After making the decision to move forward with a finish of our basement, we set up appointments with three potential contractors for the project, the first of which was with Pavel Sakurets of On Time Contractors. What impressed us from the start was his level of accessibility and follow through. Prior to our initial meeting, I placed 2-3 calls into him and never had to leave a voicemail message. The day before our meeting Pavel called to confirm and was on right time for the meeting the next morning. After walking through the basement with us and discussing some ideas, he went to work on measuring the space and putting together an estimate. We had expected a "ballpark" figure; however, the estimate he presented provided detail down to the "gnat's eyelash". This was all done in the span of a couple of hours. We did move forward with the other two interviews; however, the benchmark had already been set and neither of them measured up to this. The next meeting we had was two weeks later at On Time's showroom to make the various selections for the project and construction began just a little over one week after that point. Throughout each of these stages, Pavel again impressed us with his follow through and communication. He clearly outlined what would be happening in the days leading up to the start of the project and was on-site for a pre-construction meeting to introduce us to his team and walk through the scope of the work. On Time Contractors uses their own employees for all the work on projects except HVAC, Electrical and Drywall. This was very helpful in that we knew who exactly would be working in our home and were able to float any questions/concerns through them if needed. The project itself went very smooth. The level of quality and craftsmanship that Pavel's team put forth was extremely impressive and one that all contractors should strive to offer their customers. The timeline quoted for completion was 8 weeks or less but the team wrapped things up in 6-1/2 weeks and the total finished cost matched the original bid to the penny. The project has been completed now for approximately three weeks and we really enjoying our new space. Even my father-in law (in the construction trade and not easy to impress) has commented several times on how great the project turned out. Kudo's to Pavel and his team! They've definitely earned their spot at the top of Angie's List.
Description of Work: Complete basement finish including exercise room/den, family room, full bath and rough-in for kitchenette/bar area (approximately 1,200 sq. ft. upon completion). Home is approximately seven years old and the existing basement space was an open "blank slate".

The company was punctual and professional and were in constant communication throughout. Pavel and Igor arrived on time and came prepared with binders of their work and references. We were clear that we were probably not going to schedule work anytime soon. The gentlemen were very professional and sincere in their work in providing estimates. We were very impressed with their work ethic and clearly top-notch in their work. We got a detailed estimate and detailed plans of the remodel. During their visit Pavel also gave us tips that we could use immediately. We highly recommend them for any remodeling/construction needs.
Description of Work: Estimate only for basement remodel
Pavel came to do estimate and was on time and thorough Estimate was very fair Work was started as promised and workers were very diligent and professional Drywallers minor issue shutting off water heater w/o telling us, but we figured it out There was a slight delay in carpet that was not contractors fault All the workmanship is top notch, everything looks great Pavel is in constant communication and is always asking for feedback, feedback I gave was to do a clean up step at end (ie drywall powder off windows), he is very receptive to suggestions Overall the experience was great and I would recommend them and hire again, the price for the workmanship is definently worth what you pay.
Description of Work: Finished an unfinished basement from start to finish incl framing, plumbing, drywall, carpet, electric.
They are amazing people. They were way ahead of schedule. They estimate was only $2.00 off. The owner speaks perfect English. Whenever I needed to talk to the owner he was always able to talk with me. He is extremely accessible and they are very clean people. They came early in the morning and stayed late. They saved me a lot of money through great suggestions. When I had different contractors come out, one person would come hold and they would say that would go back to the office and provide an estimate. When they came, 2 people came and one explained all of the policies and the owner took a look at the measurement and they were able to provide and estimate right then and there before they left. They have everything organizes kind of liked choreography. They have the experts in each area come in at the perfect time. They are very organized and no one ever had to wait to do the work that they needed to do. I can not say enough wonderful things about them and their work.

Thank you for posting your report. We are very sorry that your project is small for us and we can’t work on it. We contacted Angies List on 10/13/11 and asked them to add this information into our company’s description that we do not work on projects that are below $15,000. We responded to several reports like yours the same way before, if you read them you will see that we wrote “WE DO NOT PROVIDE ESTIMATES OR WORK ON PROJECTS THAT ARE BELOW $15,000’’ but we always serve well customers who we work for.
The project started out well. The estimate was prompt and thorough and Mark was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Once the project started, things started to deterioriate. The contractor was training in a new project manager who was clearly over his head and did not receive much support. The master suite framing was not built to plan, the contractor tried to charge us to move the wall until we were able to prove that they did not build it to spec. From that point on, it was difficult to reach the project manager. He did not return calls or e-mails. Later in the project, the contractor tried to tell us that we needed to replace a window to meet code. We called the City and found out that it was not necessary. The project actually turned out well. We are happy with the quality of work. The process stunk.

While we are happy that you are pleased with your new master suite and remodeled guest bathroom, we regret that your experience with our project manager was difficult and you felt that the communication broke down. You’re correct that our project manager needed more support. Although, even the most seasoned project manager has difficulty when they are trying to communicate with the customers and are getting two strong, yet different, opinions. Our new project manager did get frustrated with the process and refused to manage it after 2 weeks. As it became obvious that your project needed the most seasoned manager, we made the switch and instituted a communication protocol where he accepted orders only form your wife and talked/emailed to her every day. As a result, we have instituted some new safeguards and protocols to insure that we don’t have the break down of communication that left you frustrated again. Regarding the issue with the bedroom window not meeting code requirements for egress, it doesn’t meet current requirements (5.7 sq. ft. of open space). Our experience has been that inspectors require us to have one egress window if we modify, or combine 2 bedrooms into one. The inspector involved in your project decided not to call the window to be changed after you talked to him. Now the unchanged window is a responsibility of the inspector who interpreted the code differently than others we have experienced.
We found On Time Contractors on Angies List, and decided what the heck, we'll add them to the list to interview for our basement project. We had only one bathroom previously, and wanted to add some additional living space as well as a bathroom - but the space was raw and old, and we weren't sure where to start. Pavel came in and made some great suggestions, including that we could fit in a small bedroom if we wanted. He did the drawings, had a very complete estimate, knew the laws/rules around Mpls building and what we needed to do. We felt that his estimate was the most complete, realistic, and straightforward - as well as competitive on price - so we hired him. They started like a beehive down there, and I never felt that my requests and questions were met with anything but honest answers and respect. I didn't go the traditional route of the majority of his clients - I sourced a lot of the materials and had 'big' ideas, and Pavel and his team made it work and were clear what the associated cost was so I could make a decision on whether to pursue certain things. The estimate of the work was exactly what we were charged for that work, change orders were clearly priced and agreed. We never had a dispute on what we owed, when, or why it was a certain amount. They have literally just finished the space, I have peace of mind because I have a 2 year warranty on my space, and now I get to decorate! They have been a great team to work with and I recommend them.
Description of Work: Pavel and his team at On Time Contractors finished our basement, they took it from a totally unfinished space (original to our 1924 home) and turned it into a lovely bathroom, family room, laundry room and bedroom. They added an egress window, drain tile, framing, electrical, flooring, tiled shower - the list goes on. Pavel's team brought in the experts needed and the people needed to get the job done and get it done in a timely manner. There is reason they are called On Time.
We are very happy with the remodel. First, we were told it would take 8 weeks and On Time finished in 6.5 weeks, which is unheard of. Having an early finish was wonderful. The team was very considerate and did a lot to make the impact on the rest of the house as minimal as possible by hanging plastic, covering flooring, installing zipper closures, etc. They worked very hard and were often working until 7:00 to get the work completed on schedule. I was glad they were employees and not subs. Most importantly we are happy with the QUALITY of the work. My biggest fear was that the workmanship would be shoddy and the details would not be up to our standards. Pavel assured me they only do quality work and he was right. I took photos of the project throughout the process and the work was solid all the way through. We went to their showroom and ended up picking out things from their showroom which we are very happy with, especially the tile in the bath which looks great and was a good price. Work progressed rapidly. Pavel asked me how often I wanted to be updated and he ended up calling me every 2 days. He was very responsive and was more available than I was to deal with things. Whenever we had questions he walked us through the process and why they were doing what they were doing. Most of the time when we worried about something or the other, Pavel said, "It's no problem." Each city & state inspection passed. At the end there were some details we weren't happy with and Pavel had them all were fixed before the job finished. The only surprises we had were with the plumbing. We had very old, small pipes and the plumber recommended installing larger pipes to bring the house up to code. this was our only surprise. We agreed to do it but didn't know the plumber would have to go upstairs to also work with the pipes. Miscommunication meant we didn't clear out places upstairs and ended up with plaster all over stuff. That was the only misstep and it was with the plumber not the guys at On Time. Overall we are extremely happy with the basement. It's the nicest part of our house. I would and have recommended On Time for anyone contemplating a big job and are looking for quality work. They are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, good quality work, on time, with people who are considerate, clear and proud of their work.
Description of Work: Total basement remodel in a 1918 bungalow. We had a basement that had been "finished" in the 1940s and it was in disrepair. We wanted a total gut and remodel of the majority of the basement. After calling 3 contractors for bids we went with On Time because our project manager, Pavel, was prompt, considerate, professional and most of all, clear. His estimate line-itemed everything out clearly so we could see exactly what we were getting for the costs and what the schedule would be. Because we had never done a major remodel before, having a clear road map was important for us. We had heard many horror stories and we wanted to have a clear plan of action. Pavel's prices was not the cheapest but he assured be we would not go over unless there was a major problem and we could say what we wanted to do. The basement included: -total gut and removal -install and egress window and a replacement window. Fill in 2 old windows to nowhere. -bath redesign: remove old bath fixtures, new plumbing, new concrete floor, new fixture to make a full bath -weatherproofing and insulation -framing, drywall, woodwork, painting -new electrical everywhere -ceiling with knock-down texture -interior paint -and a lot of miscellaneous fixes

Based upon the excellent reviews on Angie's List, I contacted On Time Contractors for an estimate on a home my husband and i recently purchased. We didn't yet have occupancy of the home so had to get permission from the seller to enter her home and my realtor had to come to the house to let myself and Brad from "On Time" contractors into the home. He NEVER showed up for the appointment! I called him and it was obvious he had completely forgotten about our appointment and had n recollection of speaking to me just a few days earlier. He had no idea who I was or what property I was speaking of. Despite his complete lack of respect for my time (and the time of my realtor) I did agree to reschedule the meeting for the following morning. He did show up on time and spent about an hour looking at the property. I was promised an estimate sent to my email address within a week. Three weeks later I have yet to hear a word from anyone at "On Time" contractors. What a joke! Meanwhile, I have hired an excellent contractor (Ryan Sieffert with Cyclone Construction) who has met with my husband and I on multiple occasions and already started working.I am new to Angie's List and this experience will make me very cautious about trusting reviews in the future. Addendum 11-20-11: I have just reviewed the response from On Time Contractors. Something I think would have been worth a phone call. When I made the appointment, I made it very clear I didn't yet have a signed purchase agreement. Hence the importance of having an appointment time as many schedules had to be adjusted to make use of the time I had available to get quotes. My husband and I did sign a purchase agreement just 5 days after we had several contractors come to the home to give us quotes. The work has now been completed. I was told I would have a quote "within a week". I was never asked to provide a copy of the purchase agreement. That is a blatant lie on behalf of On Time Contractors.
Description of Work: No services provided as I never received an estimate from "On Time" Contractors.

When we set up an estimate for this customer, it wasn’t disclosed to us that she didn’t own the house. We do not provide estimates to people that are looking to purchase a house and do not have a signed purchase agreement with the seller. We simply don’t have the resources to provide an estimate for everyone who is thinking/dreaming/toying about buying a house. That’s why when Brad came out for an estimate he told this customer that we would send a proposal to her only after she has a purchase agreement with the seller. This customer hasn’t contacted us since initial meeting that’s why the estimate was never sent.
My wife and I decided to remodel our kitchen in late December of 2011, so went to work on researching potental contractors via Angie's List. We found 3 strong contractors, including OTC to interview and get estimates. We were immediately impressed with Mark Hallberg down-to-earth approach and communication skills. Mark was easy going, answered our many questions and provided advice and guidance our kitchen project. This kitchen remodel was our first project working with a contractor, so the potential size, scope and cost was daunting to us at times. We decided to conduct more due diligence to help ensure we were making the right choice. I contacted several references provided by OTC and I was very impressed with feedback - all good feedback on timing, cost, quality etc. In the end, we decided on OTC contractors because of their outstanding reputation based upon their references and the information from Angie's List. The project was great overall. I work as a project manager so I work a lot with process and project plans. I was impressed with the strong processes that OTC has in place in all phases of the project . The planning phase with Mark went well as he answered our many questions with patience and flexibility. The construction phase was well organized as the OTC team members demonstrated a hard work ethic and adherence to quality and craftsmanship. During the construction phase Pavel, the project manager, was easy to work with when requesting changes or adding new items. Issues or communication misunderstandings are always going to result in a project this size, but Pavel did a good job handling issues when they arose. All and all, Pavel, Mark, Alec, Oleg, Ivan, Igor, Demtri and Brad did an outstanding job and met our expectations. They finished on-time and on-budget while building a beautiful kitchen that my family enjoys on a daily basis.
Description of Work: On-Time Contractors remodeled my entire kitchen. Their work included, removing a half wall, moving electrical and hvac in wall, installing new cabinets, hard wood floors, kitchen sink, faucet, backsplash, new lighting, new dimmer switches and painted ceiling and window trim.

Pavel and his gang at Ontime Contractors do two things well. They finish when they say they will and they do high quality work at a reasonable price. We received three bids for our basement and Ontime came in the lowest by a decent margin. Ontime also was able to start the soonest and finish the quickest. The choice was easy. The key to a successful remodel is open and frequent communication. Pavel is very responsive and usually instantly available by phone. If we needed to discuss specific issues, Pavel made sure to come see us in person. His crew was very friendly and were approachable if any smaller questions arise or you just like to check in and be nosey about what is happening on a daily basis. There were a few subs and they were mostly good as well. Pavel is very good about taking care of any issues that emerge. In order to be on time, he moves ahead quickly but is always willing to fix things that need to be changed. In terms of quality, Ontime is top notch. They are incredibly good painters. My visiting parents, amateur remodelers themselves, marveled at the patching of the sheetrock for our flat ceiling. The mantle and post that Alex built and stained looks fabulous. The tile work in the bathroom is beautiful. Excellent quality at a great price and on time to boot. Highly recommended.

Based on an overall score of A on Angie's List, we contacted On Time Contractors for a bid on our kitchen remodel. Mark came out to our house on February 24th to discuss what we were looking to do and take measurements. He said he it would take him about a week to complete his quote for us. I waited 2 weeks before sending an email on March 8th asking about the status of our quote. Another week later, on March 14th I received a response that Mark had been out with the flu, was getting caught up and would have our quote to us later that day or the next. That was March 14th. On March 22nd we still hadn't heard from him so I sent another follow up email. It is now April 5th and I haven't heard anything from them. No quote, no email, nothing. I'm sure they will have some wonderful response to this complaint saying they weren't interested in our project or they have a score of A for a reason, blah blah blah. I just know this is not a company I would waste my time with when they provide no follow up to someone who (was) interested in doing business with them.
Description of Work: Bid for kitchen remodel and bar in lower level rec room.
Overall it went quite well. There were several small details that weren't done right the first time but Pavel was extremely responsive to every issue we brought up and had everything immediately fixed to our satisfaction for no extra charge. OTC's price was much more competitive than the other bids we received and we are very happy with the end result. Workers were all polite and nice. Timeline was essentially as expected.
Description of Work: OTC demolished and rebuilt the very dated master bathroom in our 1927 house. Work included demo, rebuilding and expanding shower with new tile throughout and new plumbing fixtures, installation of new shower door, heated and hex-tiled bathroom floor, new vanity cabinets with some custom carpentry work to make them fit our strangely shaped bathroom, new HanStone quartz countertops, installation of two new sinks/faucets - one sink required addition of plumbing, two new medicine cabinets, installation of 5 light fixtures. They also repainted entire bathroom including trim, reconfigured a linen closet, installed and properly vented an exhaust fan. Installed cabinet hardware and towel racks.

They started in the fall and finished in December, with a few minor items to be finished in the spring.. The workers were good and honest. If I had it all to do over again, I would have done more research on what was needed to be done. We were uneducated on the process. There were miscommunications on both sides. I do feel things were resolved in the end.
Description of Work: We used On Time Contractors to raise our sinking 3-season porch and they redid the inside of the porch. We also got a new deck. We back up to a wetland and the pillars were sinking into the ground. The porch and deck were pulling away from the house and sinking.

Response from On Time Contractors Inc
We at On Time Contractors are commited to giving thorough and honest (sometimes brutally honest) assessments of our projects. If you look through the many reviews here on Angie's List there are countless references to this fact. We simply don't tell you what you want to hear at the expense of doing the job correctly. When we had the ceiling open to the sheathing for nearly a month and it rained heavily during that period, we did our due diligence and inspected the roof of the porch for water leakage. There was none. We would not have installed the new ceiling if there was. Furthermore, it was indicated to us that the roof had been redone recently. We are not inclined to suggest seemingly redundant measures when there isn't any indication for them. We feel that is bad business and that would be taking advantage of less experienced customers. We're sorry you feel the opposite is true.

Our overall experience w/On-time was very positive. We got an initial estimate that was about 20-25% under the actual cost but the variance was due to the need for an electrical upgrade to support a future attic expansion (unforeseeable) and various upgrades we decided to install. On-time was able to meet our very aggressive schedule and did so with the utmost professionalism. The crew was very respectful and courteous. We will for sure use their services again in the future & have recommended them to friends & family.
Description of Work: We had our basement in our 1940's Story & 1/2 completely remodeled by On-Time. They were able to take a blueprint we had done by an architect & transform our basement into a very nice space. We carved out a bedroom & bathroom to accommodate our expanding family in a space that was previously an unfinished laundry room & under the stairs pantry. Additionally we have a beautiful family room to enjoy, we spend much of our waking time there so it's nice to have such a great space.
The entire process went very well. Pavel and his entire crew are wonderful. I couldn't have asked for better people to do the job. They were even able to save most of the old ceramic glazed brick walls that my Great Grandfather had originally put in the basement when he built the house. They were also able to leave the trees that had originally been used for support. This house holds a lot of sentiment for me and regardless of what it looked like I wanted those things to remain and they were able to do it and still have it look good. Pavel also made suggestions that the first design company I almost went with didn't suggest and would have cost quite a bit more, so I'm very glad I went with On Time Contractors. Pavel also will also let you know up front what costs will be and let you know what items or areas you can save costs on. The crew is very thorough and keeps in constant communication with Pavel. Every time I thought I might need to remind them about something Pavel was already on top of it. All of the crew were very polite and very nice. I felt very comfortable with them here. They arrived early and worked late and cleaned up every day. I normally don't like to give a review right away because I have "spoken too soon" before......but my basement is now beautiful and I know that should anything need attention On Time Contractors will take care of it. They want to make their customers happy!
Description of Work: Had an unfinished basement (101 yrs old) finished. The basement was sectioned off with a large area, a smaller area, bathroom, laundry area and an enclosed mechanical room. Electrical was upgraded, radiator piping was re-done, new windows and ceiling installed. Also had radon mitigation installed and some cement work on exterior.
The initial estimate of time was six weeks and On Time Contractors completed all the work within the expected time line Issues or changes that we raised during the process were all dealt with in a timely and fair fashion As our house is almost 100 years old there was other work that needed to occur once the previous kitchen was removed including sub floor correction to address floor squeaks and insulation The guys were very good about cleaning up after themselves and worked throughout the six week period - the only exception was periods waiting for various inspections from the city inspectors Work started very quickly following the signing of contracts The company is very fair and reasonable about changes to the original contract - there were some things such as location of sockets and light switches that we altered as we went along The contractors were friendly and respectful of our space and property For the most part, their team are employees but sub contractors are used for electrical and granite. The granite process of selection and than installation was wonderful. There was a day delay due to a snow storm that hit but we were informed of that and given the weather that was very understandable. The electrical install went well although a little delayed due to other emergencies but all still completed within the 6 week time frame. The biggest issues we had were with things outside of OTC control. The company we ordered the appliances from and who delivered them were stressful and it took some work to explain to them that we wanted them to be careful of the newly installed floor. Weather in MN in winter is a factor but to OTC's credit, even on some really bad snow days, they had staff show up on Saturdays to complete work - like handles on the new cabinets and grouting on tile to ensure they stayed on track. Things to consider is that at project start, you are unlikely to have everything you want figured out - like granite color, tile color, where light switches should be and so expect some need to discuss with the contractor changes. OTC were very good about this and only charged for extra materials or time over the original contract - no additional change charges were added. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend this company to anyone considering re-modeling work
Description of Work: We had our kitchen torn down to the studs, electrical re-wiring, plumbing replaced, new walls, new cabinets and a new floor installed They also painted and finished the kitchen and installed a tiled back splash They installed a new fridge, dishwasher, range and range hood including an external vent

REVISED: Changing overall grade "C" as I don't believe it's fair to rate an "F" when service not performed. I do appreciate the follow-up comments and wish the best for your company in the future. We picked this company from Angie's List based on the great work they appear to have done for many other customers. I should have looked closer because there was a comment similar to the one I am writing now. We only need a small basement bathroom gutted and redone. Upon hearing this Pavel curtly notified us that they won't even come to the house for a project under $15,000. Ok, fine, that's your policy so no problem. But at least advertise that clearly so people like us don't waste OUR time on contractors like you. Additionally Pavel was rude and short in his answers and did not display the level of courtesy I would expect from a customer/client relationship. In all fairness, Pavel did follow-up this not so nice phone exchange with a nice email restating their policy. Our Advice: Be nice on the phone too. We are not doubting their work, just their sales pitch and politeness.
Description of Work: Attempted to obtain a quote for a small basement bathroom remodel.

Response from On Time Contractors Inc
We, at On Time Contractors, welcome all feedback, so thank you for yours. As evidenced by our numerous Super Service Awards spanning four years now, we strive to provide exemplary customer service in every phase of our business. It truly is the relationships we build which keeps us a healthy company and we value each one highly. As with any relationship, there is bound to be unintentional miscommunication, or, simply, a misunderstanding. We speak with customers on the phone about their projects all of the time and we understand that there is a “language of construction” that needs to be translated for most customers. Every effort is made to ensure clarity for both of us. It does neither party a service to “guess”. We are truly sorry if this process of clarification irritated you. It was not meant to anger, but to understand. Obviously, the decision we made a few years ago that we would not take jobs that are under $15,000 due to the prevalence in that range of the unlicensed, uninsured, not bonded handymen who have no overhead and, frankly, our experience shows, have little concept of how to accurately bid jobs, played a large part in your anger. As a company we have to maintain our health and we will make no apologies for that. You wouldn’t want to hire a company that didn’t. WE DO NOT WORK OR BID JOBS THAT ARE UNDER $15,000
