NORTHEAST TREE INC

They bid on the job at the end of January 2013 and scheduled the job in the few weeks following. Because of extreme cold weather in the next few weeks, the project was delayed shortly twice. I received a call from the owner each of those two weeks and the job was done soon after that. They made sure I got permission from the neighbor on whose property edge the elm grew to have their tree trimmed. I couldn't be happier with their work. They made sure I kept out of the way of the trees while they were working, but I watched. They had to climb high in the trees to trim. They even offered to cut the downed limbs into firewood for me. I declined. They brought their own equipment with to pulverize and get rid of the downed wood. They were very safety cautious. There was no damage to my property, the trees, or any person. I thought the bid was very fair for the work they did.

Northeast Tree was super responsive when scheduling the service. I called on Tuesday 5/14, and Lynn (one of the owners) came first thing Wednesday 5/15 to prepare the estimate, which I received later that day. After reviewing two other estimates, I called on Friday 5/17 to make an appointment, and the work was done on Thursday 5/23. When visiting my house to prepare the estimate, Lynn provided tons of useful and practical information in a short amount of time. It was like a crash course in tree care, which I loved, since I'm a first time homeowner with no experience with tree maintenance. The actual pruning experience was good, but not quite as stellar. The workers showed up nearly an hour early, which I was not prepared for. I would have appreciated a call letting me know that they were on their way. The workers were fast, and finished the job in about an hour, which was faster than I expected. One branch dropped onto my neighbor's porch and broke a small clay pot. Fortunately, the neighbor didn't mind. That made me realize that my neighbor and I should have cleared the space more thoroughly ahead of time, but I would have appreciate an apology about the broken pot. Summary: The quality of their work was good and fast. Since I'm a perfectionist, I've mentioned my two annoyances, but all in all I'm pleased with their work. I would probably hire them again.

Came as promised, did what they were supposed to do, cleaned up nicely after they were done, and were very professional.

The stump in the middle of the yard, most visible, did not get completely ground up. Had to axe out part of the remaining stump and exposed root system. Simply filling in the whole wouldn't have worked as the part of the stump sticking out of the ground couldn't be buried but had to come out. Contract stated they wouldn't clean up the stump ground material and resulting debris, but did state the removal of the tree and vines on the tree would. Some of this debris was left behind. There was a small mix up on removing fence panels - wasnt required in the contract but they did expect me to do it. I had emailed with owner and misread the response to the question. Either way, a simple thing to do and I am not complaining about that. They were quick and reasonably priced.

They were very prompt in getting an estimate, really affordable and happy to work with us when our plans changed and we had to delay. They also let my husband watch and taught him allot of things about trees that he didn't know before.

They arrived on schedule and performed work promptly and professionally. They were careful and avoided dropping branches in our neighbor's yard. They cleaned up after themselves and left the yard neat. They also provided an estimate for future work involving a tree in our other neighbor's yard. They had to have Xcel Energy drop the power line to our neighbor's house because it passed through the oak tree they trimmed. I was glad they did that. Xcel wouldn't give me the correct time. When we first scheduled the work I called Xcel several times and finally gave up. They only listen to the contractor's, I guess.

We had used Lynn and her crew when we needed some trimming done to our maple after a winter storm a few years ago. I was very impressed then with her professionalism, knowledge, promptness and lastly the quality of the work. This time I emailed Lynn to schedule a time for her to come out again and take a look at some branches which were growing over our roof and rubbing the shingles. She very quickly emailed me back and was able to come out a few days later for the quote. I showed her the problem branches and she gave me her recommendations. She also pointed out another branch which I hadn't seen that was pushing on our electricity wire. I received the quote in a matter of hours and I felt the price was reasonable for the work being done. She also very kindly offered to deal with Xcel Energy, at no charge, to schedule having the electric line dropped so that her crew could work. Due to their busy schedule (always a good sign) we had to wait a few weeks for them to fit us in, which was fine. The crew arrived promptly and worked very well. They removed all debris to the point that you would never have guessed they were there, save for a few small areas of sawdust in the mulch! Lynn then said that she would pop back later in the afternoon, once Xcel had come back and reinstalled the electric wire. True to her word, she came back a few hours later and inspected the tree to make sure no branches were still causing problems - she removed a few smaller ones with a manual pole saw. Lastly, she allowing me split the payments across three months. This wouldn't have been a dealbreaker, but it is a nice touch, and somewhat unusual I think for a small company. Overall, I am very happy with the work Northeast Tree provided and I will use them again if the need arises. Oh, and to the member who gave an F review in September - please let me know the name of your insurance company so I can avoid them. Clearly you don't understand that people's premiums are, in no small part, tied to how much money the insurance compnies have to pay in claims. How about some preventative work there, my friend.

Northeast Tree Inc came out to give us an estimate 2 days after I called. I had just missed a great deal with them but decided after talking to the owner and the estimator that we should go with this company. The crew arrived promptly, reviewed what they would be doing with us and got to work. I never saw them take a break. They were very careful near the house and used safety precautions.

We had a great experience with Northeast Tree. They gave us a quote and sat on the phone with me to explain the details of the services they recommended. They displayed a good understanding of healthy tree care. They were fast and clean. I can't wait to see how the trees look next spring.

The owner and his wife showed up on time and did a very good job trimming and clean up.

Called and asked for an estimate for a trimming. 2 days later I received an estimate saying the tree should be removed. This is not what I asked for. At the very least they could have submitted a estimate for just trimming in addition to their premature tree murder estimate. I received 4 bids total and this company was the only one that suggested I pay them nearly $4000.00 for something I didn't want. In the end I got my tree trimmed (for $300) by another "A" vendor on Angies list and it looks great. Now if it falls on my house ill call my insurance company just like everyone else.

Great! They where quick in responding and professional in their service. The owner was on site working w/ the crew.

As usual, the crew from Northeast Tree did a fantastic job! They arrived before their scheduled time and finished the job (clean up and all) ahead of schedule. The crew chief took the time to explain in detail what her crew was going to do as well as share with me what we needed to do for follow up care after the trimming. I was amazed at how clean the crew left the yard. I saw them walking the yard picking up trimmings that measured no more than a few inches in length. One would be hard pressed to find any debris left behind when they finished. More importantly, the trees that we had trimmed look wonderful.

I contacted Lynn Welles at Northeast Tree Inc. by email to schedule a time for her to look at my trees and discuss the necessary tree work at my home in south Mpls. Lynn was able to meet with me at my house within a few days of my email request and she was prompt, arriving right on time, etc.. She is a good communicator and described the work that needed to be done on the trees and bushes that needed pruning. She is very knowledgable and was helpful in educating me about my trees. I got a proposal for the pruning work via email within a day or so after meeting with Lynn and we scheduled the work for the following week. I was not able to be home when the pruning work was done, but Lynn assured me that she would be on site to oversee the work and that I did not have to be home while the work was done. My trees and bushes look great after the completion of the pruning work and I am very happy with the service provided by Northeast Tree. The workers cleaned up the back and front yard and there was no debris of any kind after the pruning project was done. I have used Northeast Tree to prune my trees in the past and I will call them in the future. I prefer using locally owned companies like Northeast Tree and I appreciate developing a working relationship, so that I know who to call from year to year.

Lynn from Northeast Tree provided a detailed bid within a couple days of receiving our inquiry. I asked several follow-up questions via email, and she responded quickly and pleasantly. Northeast Tree also lent us some cones so that we could block off part of an adjacent parking lot where work would be done. We hope to work with Northeast Tree when tree services are needed again in the future.

I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the service we received. They were prompt (in fact early) for both the estimate and the work appointment, knowledgeable and professional. Lynn was very responsive and communicated well. She knew exactly what I wanted done before I even told her, and there were several different things involved. The crew did excellent work and did it for less than the other estimate we got. I am recommending Northeast Tree to everyone I know that might need their services, and we will be using them again when we have to reluctantly part with our old pear tree. They came out the same day and I got an estimate a day or two later. George advised that they should be removed. He emailed a detailed proposal explaining what should be done. I agreed. The next week, the team came out and removed the trees. They left very little mess it was hard to tell that they were there at all. I was very happy with their service.

Received an estimate the day after I called. The work was scheduled about two weeks out which fit my schedule fine. The crew showed up on time and quickly removed the tree. They came back two weeks later to grind the stump. They were very friendly and professional through the whole process.

The work with Northeast Tree went very well. I contacted them to provide an estimate on pruning a crab apple tree as well as recommendations on a maple tree that was leaning from a storm and another crab tree that had been hit by lightning. Lynn discussed all the options with me and answered all my questions. I decided on pruning a crab and the maple as well as replacing the tree hit by lightning. Lynn was very helpful when it came to picking a new tree. I had some specific requirements and she was able to offer some good choices. The job went well. I was concerned about the tree removal because it was in a area where there were other bushes and flowers fairly close to the tree. They removed the tree and installed the new one with with very little impact on the rest of the bushes/flowers near by. I was impressed that this went so well. I overall was very happy with all aspects of the work with Northeast Tree and am planning to use them again in the spring.

They are very knowledgeable and right in line with other companies prices. It was good to have them in the neighborhood to stop out again when I had more to add to the estimate, it was very smooth and they did a great job.

Northeast Tree came out on two separate occasions to remove trees to accommodate a new garage. Our experience was excellent and these guys are professional in a way that every business should be. The right equipment was used and the crew knows what they are doing - they got in and got out with the job done right. There were a couple small issues and they kept in full communication and corrected promptly which demonstrates their integrity and desire to keep the customer happy. On a final note - They went way above and beyond and handled some additional work on quick notice...we were extremely happy that the project could continue without delay thanks to Northeast Tree. Very impressive.

Never delivered estimate. After repeated calls, kept saying next weekend- next week for estimate - never gave reason for delay.
