NORTHEAST TREE INC

I did my homework as usual and invited about six different firms to provide me with a bid on my project. I moved to a new home with a huge forest in the back yard and the job absolutely exceeded my expectations. First of all, these guys know trees and George Welles, the owner is a walking encyclopedia of trees and his training as a Certified Arborhist is evident in his work. When I moved in the new house, there were branches going this way and that way and the lot was a mess. The front yard desperately needed trimming and this was completed in phase one. The trimmed trees look sensational and the yard was cleaner than when they arrived. They provided me with a copy of their Workers Compensation, (which is an absolute must) because if any one of your contractors falls and injures themselve, you are potentially liable and I didn't want this exposure. So whether you use North East Tree Service or not, make sure you obtain a copy of their Workers Comp Insurance. The second phase of the job was to clean up two large piles of branches and logs that the previous homeowner left for me. It was a mess beffore N.E. Tree service arrived, but they brought in their Bobcat and cleared out the back yard, and the new neighbors said the yard has never looked better. What was really impressive is they removed numerous dead trees that were not even included in their bid, and NE did not ask for one penny more! I received bids from a numerous companies and their bid was on the low - mid range of pricing. Not the absolute lowest, (but that is a mistake in my book) but after reading all of the positive comments from other satisfied Angie's List customers about them, I knew this NE Tree had the potential for a great job. You never know how any contractor will do, UNTIL the job is done and THIS job was an A++. In addition, I have a firepit in the back and they cut up some fire wood for us to use and even cut up some nice logs for additional chairs. There was so much value added here and it was one of the better transactions that I have ever experienced on Angie's List. I told them, I will submit a very detailed report and if the job meets and hopefully exceeds my expectations, the entire Angie's community will read my remarks, and if the job is done poorly, it will also be noted, which is a contractors worst nightmare. They were professional in every part of the job and I will most definitely hire Northeast Tree Service, Inc. again for all future tree service. Even though the job seems expensive for most of the jobs you might see on Angie's List, they spent a tremendous amount of time on this huge job, because the lot is gigantic and there are dozens and trees in our mini-forest. Forget about using someone from the newspaper with no known history. These guys are the real pros and dont' take my word for it, please read all of the other comments from the other satisfied clients on Angie's List. Thank you for a SUPERIOR job, George.

We called Northeast Tree to have them take a look at the tree and they came out that day to take a look at it. George gave a very thorough explanation of why he thought the tree should probably be removed sooner rather than later. We were worried whoever removed it would have to take down our fence, but were told they could bring in a crane so that wouldn't be necessary! We decided to have it removed and set up the tree removal. They scheduled it for 1 1/2 weeks out, and they showed up that day bright and early right at 8am! Much to my surprise our sales person and company owner George was there and was actually the main person doing a good amount of the work! They removed the tree leaving very little debris - I wouldn't have known a tree was removed except for the stump still being there. They came back a few days later to grind the stump down and again left very minimal debris. I would highly recommend Northeast Tree to anyone looking to have a tree trimmed / removed - the experience was as it should be from start to finish!

George responded to my voice mail the same day and we scheduled the services exactly when I needed them. George and his team showed up on time, and worked steadily until the tree was removed. They also looked over 2 red cedars on my property and diagnosed one with apple rust and trimmed for no charge. If I need additional tree services, I will contact George again. If I have friends/neighbors who are looking for tree services, I will recommend Northeast Tree.

Very good. They showed up on time. Did what I wanted them to do. Gave some helpful advice. Charged a fair price. Cleaned up. Didn't damage anything. They obviously knew what they were doing.

The tree service cleaned up after themselves very good. They did come out on the scheduled time that they were supposed to. I didn t call anywhere else for prices but I thought there s been fair.

Overall it went really well. They didn't remove the stumps of the arborvitae and mock orange right away, but when I called they were out within a day or two to take care of it. They were the lowest estimate I received, but the work they suggested was exactly the same as the other two companies that I had come out and give estimates.

Northeast's price was low and service was beyond expected. I asked for bids from three tree cutting services that were listed as approved by my city. Northeast was the lowest bidder. They included a 10% discount for winter service (they're less busy). Three services that stood out that went beyond my expectations. The lady that came to do the bid was well educated about trees and even sent me information about the disease that killed my tree. I asked to keep the trunks for firewood, and they complied. When removing the stump, they also removed surface roots (surface roots for Norway Maple are really bad). I didn't think they'd do that but that was cool of them to do.

It's a husband and wife team that do the work and they had to be very careful because one of the tree's roots were growing into the foundation of the house. They were very precise and very polite to be around. When they left there was not a stick to be found. They also left the grindings of the stumps for us to use.

Lynn inspected the trees and wrote up detailed estimates for alternative treatments: tree bracing and trimming versus tree removal. She gave the evaluation much time and attention. I chose bracing and trimming rather than removal. Scheduling the work was easy and the team of 4 was punctual. They did the work with energy, skill, and good humor.

They were so knowledgeable and displayed genuine caring for the trees, which are both on the mend after decades of neglect.

My neighbor was able to see the process in action, and said that Northeast Tree Service did the work with "pinpoint precision." The crew was very careful during the process, making sure not to damage a bird feeder I had near the trees. I was happy and will have them back in the future.

They were both professional and friendly during every step of the process, from the initial phone call to the final yard clean up. Timely, efficient, value, and friendly service.

Great! Lynn Welles provided a clear estimate up front with possible options. Her crew came when scheduled, did the job well and cleaned up nicely. A slight misunderstanding about the bill was cleared up without a problem. I HIGHLY recommend this company - it's bid was lower or comparable to others received and service was excellent.

They were great. They have an arborist that they use which is pretty rare. They were there when they said they would be and did what they said they were going to do. We would use them again.

George came out within a couple of days to give us an estimate on the project. He seemed very knowledgeable, professional, and had the lowest bid, so we went with them. We had to schedule the work a few weeks out due to the size of the tree and the equipment involved. I didn't always feel like I was kept up to speed on the details of the project, but when I called for information they responded promptly. They came and removed the tree as scheduled and did so safely and competently. They almost forgot another small bush we had included in the project but took that as well when reminded. It took over another week for them to return to grind the stumps, and that was done semi-successfully. It may have been due to the nature of the terrain, but they seemed a bit put out when I called them about coming back to do more. They ultimately were unable to given their equipment, and I had to have another company come back to finish, but they were apologetic about it.

I called this company because they are highly rated in Angie's List. I wanted an estimate to prune about 3 - 4 layers of a large Spruce tree and to remove one dead limb from a box elder tree. That's all. When I received the estimate, they quoted removal of the box elder tree and the removal of another tree that I never even mentioned to them. They based their quote on what they recommended for my yard but not want I wanted to have done. Although these trees probably do need to come down eventually, I did not use them because they did not provide a quote for what I specifically asked.

I called for an estimate and the crew happened to be in the neighborhood. I got the estimate and the job done that very afternoon. The price was competitive and they did a great job of cleaning things up too.

They were quick and efficient and they were clean. It only took them about an hour. I was pleased with the result. We would use them again.
