These are GREAT people to work with! The arborist who did the on site estimate was very knowledgeable. He pointed out that the ash trees I was getting trimmed would need to be treated for Emerald Ash Borer when it reached my area, or I might consider taking them down in a few years. I appreciated the warning. The biggest part of the job was removal of a large elm which was about 1 foot from a 6ft tall cedar fence. They brought in a crane to remove the tree. There was absolutely no damage to my yard or fence from the tree removal. These folks are ARTISTS at what they do. They paid close attention to my instructions. I added a small dead tree to be removed after the proposal was written. They did it with no extra charge.I have a large lot with many trees and will definitely be hiring this company for all of my future tree work. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

After inquiring with Xcel Energy as to the reasons we experienced so many outages, we were advised that vegetation was an issue. Trees, specifically. So, I set about getting estimates on trimming. I called 3 services, but Northeast is the only one which responded promptly (July 25th) to give me an estimate. Lynn Welles was very responsive, explaining, once I decided to go with Northeast Tree, that because of frequent storms, it might be awhile before they could arrange for Xcel to take down my lines. She kept me in the loop, and then gave me a date of August 12th. They arrived as scheduled and did the necessary work, cleaned up, removing and chipping the branches and raking away debris. I am happy with the results.

Lynn responded to my inquiry and provided an estimate/analysis very quickly. The crew was very professional and did a good job, and the price was reasonable. The only minor item to note was that the cleanup on some of the small brush/twigs could have been raked up a bit better, but it only took me about 10 minutes to take care of it. Overall I was very pleased and would use their services again.

We are preparing to have our house's exterior re-stuccoed and painted. Two trees were planted too close to the foundation, so this was a good time to remove them. The lilac hedge along the other side of the houses needed rejuvenation, so we wanted to have them cut to base at the same time, also freeing up the area for exterior work. Northeast Tree was good about scheduling the job quickly so that we could get on with our other projects. The were punctual, quick, and quieter than we expected. They cleaned up the areas thoroughly and were very professional.

They did an excellent job. There are not enough words to describe. They are courteous and cleaned up well. The tree was cut down and the yard was cleaned in 2 hours!

I was looking for a tree stump remover after many failed attempts to try to remove the stump my self, So I looked on Angie's list and found NORTHEAST TREE INC. I called and talked with a gentlemen, after a few missed phone calls back and forth we finally hit bases with each other. He told me an approximate quote over the phone, they called to see if the ground had been mark for where the gas pipe was, I told them yes, And by that afternoon the stump was gone......Never seen or met this person, But, it was amazing to see that ugly stump gone.

I read of a tree disease in my Northern Gardener magazine that made me think the browing leaves on my maple were a result of that. I called NE tree & asked if they would check. They reassured me on the phone that it was highly unlikely it was disease and probably a bit of drought. They said they would come by in a few days and look. A couple days later, I got a letter in the mail, saying they had been out and the tree was healthy. They recommended that I add more mulch and water every week we didn't get an inch of rain. They did not charge me for this.

We had know the tree had some issue with rot and there were a few cables strung to keep the two trunks from splitting more. We noticed more and more rot and decided to have the tree removed. We contacted Northeast by email and someone was out to look at it and gave us a quote within 48 hours. They suggested that we wait until October to do the work because of oak wilt. We finalized the schedule and the came out on the 29th of October. They were a couple of hours late because they needed a larger piece of equipment to handle the job. We arrived home in mid-afternoon and they had just finished grinding the stump down. The yard was left nice and clean. They also trimmed a dead branch from a maple we have as well. We received a discount for being Angie's list members.

They did the job very well and we recommend them highly. They did the job on time, cleaned up, and the tree looks really great. With the high winds in the past week (45+ mph gusts), the tree withstood that pressure and we're grateful we had the brace in the tree too. The price was very good and the Angie's List discount was great! Can't say enough good words about the service and attention.

Lynn from Northeast Tree was very professional from the first time I contacted her through the removal of the tree. The tree was so large they had to remove it using a crane parked in the front street, lifting sections of the tree up and over my house from my backyard. They handled everything including notifying the airport (for the use of the crane) and coordiating with the city to block off my street for the day. It was a big job - a crew of 8 people to remove the tree and grind the remaining stump. When they were finished that afternoon it was as though they had never been here. They raked all the leaves and wood chips from my yard and swept the front street. They did a fantastic job.

GREAT provider and very good price. Lynn came to the house several times to inspect the tree, told us what was wrong with it and coordinated the removal and grinding of the stump. Very good job, very clean. You would not even know it was there. We will use them again! We love patronizing independent local companies.

This was a great experience, Lynn was very responsive and professional. The work was completed on the day agreed upon and done well. We are really happy with the way the tree looks.

We spent $330 and they trimmed a 40 year old honey locus tree in our front yard and other smaller trees last winter and we spent about $130 on the last job. They were friendly, happy and I felt that they were fair priced. They came way under bid compared to some other company we used before. I think they are knowledgeable and come out quickly and I love that they are in my neighborhood.

Northeast's price was the middle of 3. They were willing to lower their price to be a little closer to the lowest bid. George was very informative. A previous arborist had encourage us to treat for Emerald Ash Borer immediately, while George said that we should wait until it was recommended for our neighborhood. I liked that they are a small company. They did the work right away. The only problem was that the work was done in the winter, so they couldn't clean up the site. When the snow melted it was a bit of a mess. However, as soon as spring arrived they returned to grind the stumps without us having to call them and when I asked them to pick up the debris from the earlier work they came right out to do it.

They were excellent and their price was very reasonable and both were under $300. The evergreen had some root fungus and the maple in the front had developed a double leader. They were recommended by my next door neighbor. I called them again recently to do some more work.

They were pretty knowledgeable about the trees and offered advice on stuffs that were not really related to the project that they were working on. They seemed to know a lot about trees and I think they were certified arbors. They were helpful and seemed to know more than just a company who would come out and trim whatever you tell them to trim. They gave an insight about what we actually need to do to help the trees stay healthy.

Lynn did the estimate the day after I phone to ask for one. She scheduled the work for less than a week later. The work was done on schedule despite a snow storm and cleanup was thorough (they had to come back due to some broken equipment, which they did in less than 24 hours). The estimate was the most informative and detailed of the three estimates I got. The price was in line with competitors but the service so much more professional it was incredible. I can't wait to see how the tree leafs out in the spring.

The price was half of the other tree service we normally use. There diagnoses of the problem was much quicker. There decison of what needed to happen was quick and decisive. The removal of the tree was very careful and professional.

I contacted Northeast Tree by email through their web site and received a prompt response to my request for an estimate. The estimate was returned by email within 2 days and the work performed within 2 days of accepting the estimate. Bill sent in mail.

This crew was fantastic! Rather than the usual way of chopping down a tree (i.e. chop, fall) - they used a Rocket Crane in conjunction with a climber to cut and remove the tree segment-by-segment from the top-down. Each segment was craned out of the yard, cut down further and fed into a chipper. The removal team was done in exactly one hour - super fast! They had also scheduled a stump-grinder guy to come over later the same day and he was there within a couple hours after they removal crew left. His grinder was too big for my fence gate, so he removed/rolled-back enough chain link fencing to get the equip in, ground the stump and got out of there all within a half hour. I think it took him longer to dismantle and put back together the fencing than the actual stump grinding did. Note - the tree was in a yard that was fenced in with only a small gate for access, relatively far back in the yard from the gate, right smack between the cable, power and phone lines attached to the house, within inches of my deck with branches right on the roof and up against the walls, and was leaning at particularly wonky angle. The whole job was completely on-time, surprisingly fast & efficient, extremely professional and friendly, and the bill fit the estimate exactly. I'd initially cringed at the $1100 estimate, but for the use of the crane and shredder, and how amazingly fast and well it was all done - totally worth it. I'll have these guys back when I need my oaks trimmed and my other Box Elder brought down.

The job went very well. The trimmer arrived first and trimmed both trees and then the person who was to lay down the mulch arrived and did that job. All work was done in a very professional manner and suggestions by me were considered and acted upon to my liking.

The work was done in Fall 2008 Had a large maple tree in backyard that was hanging over house and power / phone lines. Lynn Welles and her crew came out, inspected the tree and pruned it back/up/off the house and out and away from the power and phone lines. She suggested removing a planting box that encircled the tree to allow for better oxygen delivery to the roots and base of the tree. Additionally, she provided a written report on the overall health / condition status of the tree as well as suggestions for on-going tree care which was very helpful. The tree returned to full bloom this spring (Spring, 2009) and continues to be the focal point of my backyard. Don't risk harming your tree - it is well worth the money to do it the right way - hire a professional - hire Northeast Tree Inc. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs this kind of service. ---SHL
