I had two light fixtures that weren't working. Bill at Nordeast Electric was the only one of four contractors I contacted that called back promptly. Due to a cancellation, they were able to send someone out the same day, which was convenient. Sean was able to diagnose both problems quickly (faulty dimmer switch, bad transformer). He installed a new dimmer switch which works great. I needed to find a new transformer for my low voltage track light, which due to the brand and design needed to be found at a hardware store. Sean suggested looking online or talking to Creative Lighting. The folks at Creative Lighting helped me track down the part and it is on order now. Overall, Nordeast Electric met and exceeded my expectations. Great customer service and workmanship.

They came within 2 working days and did exactly what we needed and told me the cost upfront.

Bill was super helpful and responsive for scheduling. The power went out in a large portion of our house at 5pm on a Thursday night. I called Nordeast and Bill tried to catch someone on his way home to take a look at it. He wasn't able to get someone out until the next day, but the other electrician I called wouldn't be able to get anyone out to my place until the following Wednesday. They were able to replace the circuit breaker without needing to replace the panel.

We were able to get an appointment really quickly. Electrician was on time, even called about 20 mins ahead of time to confirm schedule. Spent 2 hours plus looking at the panel, the connection with city power, outlets throughout house, etc. He chatted with my husband and I as the inspection went along. We got a thorough 3 page write up from what was needed ASAP (CO2/fire detectors to be up to code, where GFCI was needed) to what will be needed to soon (our electrical panel is 40 years old and there is rusting on the connections, will be needed to replaced soon) and what is possible to make things better (we could add outlets rather than relying on extension cords). We have a 100 year old house that has been remodeled and rewired in its history so we got an explanation of how things were laid out (that weren't always obvious to us). We were very happy with the service, and got pricing quotes for everything they can or could do for us (plus tips for what we can do ourselves--e.g., the CO2 detectors). We will use this vendor in the next year when our panel gets updated.

From the first contact, Sean was very professional and spent about 2 hours going through our house to accurately determine what the cost would be. I appreciated his thoroughness and actually used his bid (without the numbers!) to get an accurate quote from another contractor. Everything was spelled out in detail and when they ran across something that was not in the original bid, they talked to me about it and explained it so we could understand. They were in our house for 3-1/2 days. They used drop cloths to contain the mess and cleaned up after themselves. Except for inconvenience of having circuits off for periods of time (i.e., the internet!), it went great! Sean and Joel were professional, efficient and personable. Very pleasant to work with! I would hire this company again and highly recommend them--for the price AND the quality. You can't do better!

This was the second of two contractors from Angie's List that I contacted for an estimate. The first one quoted an outragiously high price. After selecting Nordeast Electric, all I can say is this was the most incredible experience I've ever had with a contractor! These guys are fantastic! I cannot say enough good things about them. From the estimate to the finished project, it was well beyond all my expectations! Angie's List hit a grand slam home run with this recommendation. For the estimate, Bill was very knowledgeable, honest, and clear on what needs to be done, what the best solution was, how long it will take to complete, and the cost of the project. Then on the day of the work, Bob showed up on time and ready to go. He put canvas over the carpeting to keep it clean and got right to work. He got the permit, installed the lights and wired them per code. There was an unforeseen problem; however, that required extensive troubleshooting by Bob. The wiring had a short somewhere in the system and Bob performed miracles to locate it and solve the problem. He worked tirelessly until all was perfect. The lights turned out amazing and Bill honored his original estimate even though Bob had to troubleshoot an unexpected problem and do extra work as a result. Bob is also an extremely nice guy, very hard worker, and a perfectionist who insists the job is done right regardless of any roadblocks. Bottom line is Bob ensures the finished product is perfect. Bob and Bill are unquestionably the most competent professionals I've ever worked with...by a long shot! They are examples of integrity, honesty, and true professionalism. I just can't say enough good things about Bob and Bill. Nordeast Electric reflects the very best Angie's List has to offer. What a great discovery! I will never use another electrical contractor other than Nordeast Electric!

I spoke with Bill and told him that we had recently moved into an older home and had a few things that needed attention. He was personable, clearly explained the service call charge and was able to send a technician the same day. Sean arrived that afternoon and took care of everything (including all our questions) within the initial one hour. We really appreciated that he explained what might be needed in the future without using pressure or scare tactics. They even sent us a thank you card! We will definitely call Nordeast again.

Dealing with Bill for an estimate was easy and fast. The guys showed up to do the work right on time and finished a bit ahead of schedule, leaving things neat and complete. The inspection went well and I will call Nordeast for work in the future.

Had appointment for 2 outdoor lights be replace. I made the appointment over the phone, then followed up with an email. Provider was 1/2 hour late when I called to find out if we were still on, He had no idea of the appointment. Couldn't find our email, had wrong email address, even had my address wrong. Not well at all.

We liked the personality of the employee who gave the estimate. They were in the house a lot and were very careful all the time.

Our first contact was with Nordeast by phone. A helpful man named Bill asked a lot of questions about our project and then gave us a price range for the project. A couple of days later, a journeyman electrician came out to the house and gave us a more detailed estimate that came to be at the high end of the original phone estimate. The electrician explained what needed to be done and gave us a couple of ways we could bring the cost of the project down if necessary. We ultimately decided to have all of the work done as recommended. A little later that same morning, two electrician apprentices arrived and joined the journeyman in the project. They were done with all of the work in less than a day. All three tradesmen were polite, professional and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and made the whole project quite painless. I would be happy to hire Nordeast for future projects.

Nordeast will be the first I call when I need electrical work in the future. And I would recommend them to a friend without hesitation. I felt they were a bit spendy, but the job involved a wall-fish - which even though it was a short run I know you pay $$ for fishes. I also compared the cost to work done at the family home in suburban Chicago last summer which involved far more man-hours at about 2/3 the amount. But, we are the Twin Citie$. Other reasons to be "ok" with the cost: work was done well and efficiently by a knowledgeable electrician; polite courteous, answered all my questions. I had three other contractors (one from Angies) who either did not return calls or did not answer their phone. So, I was happy to find someone with the staff to behave like a professional outfit and they were ready to come out same week. Also, work passed city inspection without a problem. The only other MINOR negative - I'd have wished for some clean up help, but the amount of saw dust and plaster dust was quite minor and I had other cosmetic things to do in the area so it was no big deal for me to brush up. Not a deal breaker.

We were very happy with Sean and his team's work. He was very professional and prompt, and was very committed to doing his work with as little damage to our walls and ceiling as possible. It took him longer to do it that way, but he did not charge us more, and we are very pleased with the final result. He was also respectful of our budget while still doing what was needed to make the house safer and more functional. We got an estimate from Sean the same day that he came out to see the project, and within a week, all the work was completed. The whole process was very efficient and we would definitely use Nordeast again and recommend them to our friends.

The job went very well. During panel installation, the crew contacted the electrical inspector to confirm several issues so as not to have any problems with inspection later. As it is winter in Minnesota, having the power off starts cooling the house. Nordeast completed the job fast enough that our home did not get too cool which was an added benefit. The crew also added a couple of switch plates to several circuits that were missing and switched out two non-GFCI outlets to GFCI outlets in our garage to meet codes. Nordeast took care of getting the required permits and also arranged for the state electrical inspector. The job passed the inspection.

From the time Bill answered phone , came out and gave estimate, he was outstanding. Very professional, extremely knowledgeable, great ideas to do job. His workers were on time, very pleasant to deal with and and did outstanding workmanship. Wow, I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to call a company for a service, have them schedule a service and then actually show up and DO the service they said they would do! It did cost a BIT more. But honestly, it was SO TOTALLY worth it! Don't make the same idiotic mistake I did and try to save money hiring some "Guy". This is a small business committed to making sure their work is done quickly (LEGALLY) and completely when they SAY they are going to do it. use them again and I highly reccomend you give them your business too.I will

Arrived on time both days. Very professional. Worked hard both days. Second day for 8hrs. in 80 degree plus heat. I think he only took a 10 minute break. Had to drill through wood jousts. Cleaned up all wood shavings. He knew that I had to move some shelves and work bench to pass inspection. Very satisfied with the whole process.

Told me that other estimate's were wrong

While changing a bulb in one of my kitchen fixtures, I was treated to a shower of sparks on my head and smoke coming from the in the ceiling behind of the fixture. Needless to say, it was clear I needed to call an electrician. Brent from Nordeast came out and discovered that this had happened because the fixture had been improperly installed by removing the insulation and quickly also found out that the other light in the kitchen was just about as bad. After receiving the initial estimate, I decided to go ahead and have other fixtures looked at for the same problems and to look at replacing most of the lights in the home. During the course of this process, we found and fixed several other issues with the wiring in the house. I have an older home and I knew there might be other issues going into it. I appreciated Brent's stepwise approach to the process and the way that he clearly outlined the problems that were present and pros and cons of proceeding with the repairs. I felt as though this approach put me in the drivers seat by giving me all the necessary information and then allowing me to make the decision to proceed or not. They were careful not to start work which would have committed me to additional expenses just to put things back in working order. Bill from Nordeast was able to move schedules around so the Brent and Casey could finish out my project despite the unexpected additional days that were required. I would definitely use Nordeast again for my future electrical needs.
