We were extremely pleased with the work provided by Nordeast Electric. We were looking for an electrician to come in and do the work rather quickly, and these guys came out at 8 AM on-time, provided the estimate for the work, and completed all of the work the same day. Prices were comparable to other estimates we had received, and Nordeast was able to do the actual work sooner than other companies. The two guys who came to do the work were professional and even cleaned up after themselves, vacuuming and not leaving any mess in their wake. We're pleased with the actual work that was done too, of course.
Description of Work: We had in-ceiling lighting added to two bedrooms, an outlet installed in our kitchen, and a light switched changed from motion-activated to a regular light switch in our basement. Added some AFI to our electrical board.

New circuit is fantastic - we're no longer tripping a breaker when we run the dishwasher and use the water kettle at the same time, and the work is neat and tidy. Brent installed an outlet under our kitchen cabinet rather than just wiring the dishwasher in as it had been, and made sure to check in about the placement of the outlet to make it convenient for us, and made sure the cord installed would be long enough for us to pull out the dishwasher. He also made sure to tidy things up in the junction box where the dishwasher had originally been wired in. In order to fully make things work, we will need to upgrade our breaker box, which is basically at capacity, and we still need a separate circuit for our microwave. Brent gave us quotes for both installing a whole new breaker box, and for installing a new secondary box. We also got a quote for a new bath fan, and got questions answered about an existing bath fan, a mystery light switch, ungrounded outlets and general wiring upgrades, and some abandoned wiring for a ceiling light. Brent was also very nice to our 8-month-old and very curious puppy. Fantastic work, very reasonable price. We will be contacting them in the future for the other work discussed. Price includes $65 permit.
Description of Work: Ran a new dedicated circuit for our dishwasher. Took a look at several other issues in our 1926 house, gave estimates for other work needed, answered many questions about our (complicated, from several different eras) wiring.

I've contracted Nordeast twice now, to remove old knob-and-tube wiring from our walls and attic and to move a light switch. Both times they showed up punctually, completed the work quickly, and came in under their (already-reasonable) estimate. I could not be more satisfied with the results. Very professional and informative overall. I don't know of any other electrical work needed in our house, but when something comes up I know who I'll be hiring.

The new lights are just what I wanted and they helped me figure out where to place the two pendants. Cutting into the thick plaster ceiling made a mess, but he cleaned it up before he left. I'm so happy that I had this done.
Description of Work: I had two pendant lights installed over the sink. This involved disconnecting the current light which was on the wall at eye level and taking out a plug that had been in a strange place on the wall.

Working with Sean was awesome. He took the time to evaluate the job, offer suggestions on how and where to cut in, fish, place the switches, etc. and get it done the best way possible. Very neat, clean, thorough work with minimal wall surgery. Makes my job of repairing the wall easy. The job was a little more than quoted but I expected that because the original quote was given over the phone from my description. I knew once the electrician saw the job it would be more than the quote but I believe the final cost was very fair. I would not hesitate to hire Nordeast Electric again. I can't express enough how pleased I am with Sean's work and how well this job went.
Description of Work: I needed two bathroom exhaust fans wired in bathrooms that previously had no fans. The job involved some wall surgery, fishing, and re-positioning one of the fans, and making sense of the wiring in a typical 1910 Victorian home. Also needed my mast repaired and re-secured.

when Brent showed on Monday he realized the problems were bigger than originally thought. the electrical box was not wired right, the work that I had done just compounded the problem and he was able to look at the issues, make a plan and get working. with the help of Jake and Sean they knocked out the majority of the work in one day. they came back and finished the following friday. they were clean. efficent, honest, and helped clear up the issues that we had with our electric.
Description of Work: the electrical box was not up to code and the wiring that had been done was did not pass inspection.

I called Nordeast Electric for a panel upgrade and new circuits to be added. For the initial phone conversation they asked the right questions to determine what I needed. Then gave me a ball park estimate. I said yes. They showed up at 8AM on the day scheduled. Also called ahead before arriving. Once here, Sean took the time to explain all the possible options. What I really appreciate is that they suggest, estimate, and perform like it's their own house. I mean Sean went through all the possible options. He noted how I could keep the project cheaper and yet get what I needed. When they were finished it was very well done. I'm very happy with the work that was done and the amount I paid. Would definitely hire again.

Excellent! If I could give A+ to each category...I would!! Bill called me the same morning (Monday) that I contacted him which impressed me a great deal due to the fact that everyone was scrambling and overwhelmed with the amount of work pouring in after the terrible storm damage this past weekend. He took the time to go over our specific problem and told us what he felt we needed to have done to rectify the problem. He also gave us a price range of what it would cost best/worst case scenario. He is very experienced and knowledgeable to say the least. He also talked about the current laws and codes which I was happy to hear...as this told me the job would be done properly which is what every customer wants. Due to the extreme demand he could not guarantee someone coming out until 8 am on Wednesday morning. I told him that we had just been through a horrendous weekend with the high temps, humidity and this air conditioner problem. My fiance and I were truly frustrated, at our wits end and ready to kill each other as we had tried so many different things to try to temporarily fix the issue and none of them had worked. It was predicted that the next day the temp would be 91 degrees and I knew that we would have the same issues all over again. Bill did not promise me...but told me that he would try to get someone out sooner if at all possible. Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 he called to say that he could have Brent come out very soon as he was quite close by just finishing a job. Sure enough...Brent appeared soon after. We were SO happy!!! (And SO GRATEFUL/THANKFUL!!) Brent was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He gave us options and variables as well as his opinion on what would work the best for our situation as well as the cost factor. His associate KC joined him part way through the job and together they finished the job efficiently and cleaned up extremely well. They had been working VERY long hours and still had one more job to do before they could call it a day. Despite being tired and quite hot (it was 91 degrees and humid) they did a terrific job. I would not hesitate to call them again. They all really went the extra mile and especially so by getting us worked into their crazy and busy schedule. They scheduled a city inspector to come out the following day.
Description of Work: We needed to have a new/dedicated circuit put in for our air conditioner. On hot, humid days and days where a lot of power is being used in the city, the air conditioner and everything on the same circuit would turn off every 5-10 min. You were constantly running up and down the stairs to reset the circuit.

It all went very well. After the initial junction box repair, power was restored to several circuits that had not been working. After both repairs they did for my home I was left feeling confident that the work was done to code and done well.
Description of Work: I first hired Nordeast Electric for repair of an improperly connected junction box. They corrected it, suggesting another item to bring up to code along the way. I appreciated the suggestion and also requested a couple of quotes for some more involved work as follow-up to the first issue. Later, I hired them again to find and repair a few feet of old wiring in my ceiling back to the attic wall with new wiring and a proper junction box. They also installed my new lighting fixture for me.

We were extremely pleased with the punctuality of electrician, Shawn, and his professionalism. We had full confidence that he would complete the job and do it within the timeframe and price quoted on our initial contact with Bill, the owner. Great! We had had Nordeast out for an inspection and estimate last year; during that we got a very detailed explanation our house's electrical situation (including a bit on codes and safety features) and a pretty detailed estimate of what the work would cost. When we scheduled the work this month, I was happy to see that the cost estimates had stay the same even though almost a year had gone by! The worker were on time and were friendly professionals. They were able to get all the work done in one day. I appreciate that I was able to show them to the work areas (basement and outside the house) and then could leave them to it. They worked quietly (not counting the necessary drilling, of course!) and left everything super clean. At the end of the process I got another tour of the work done. It all looked great and was exactly what we needed. Not a very exciting story; just a pleasant and efficient experience.
Description of Work: Our electrical panel was more than 30 years old, our connection to the main electrical supply was rusting, and we had no arc fault protection. The panel and connection were also out of code. Nordeast electric put in a brand new panel, arc fault protection, and fixed up the electric main connection. They also put in two GFCI outlets in our kitchen

The project turned out a bit more expensive than originally planned on. That being said, It will be easier for future projects. Due to the layout of my 100+ year old house I had a sub panel installed in my unfinished attic that added to the cost but will be beneficial for me when I finish that room off. The 3 electricians were at my house all day installing the conduit, panel and outlets. They did a great job, very professional and cleaned up.

The guy showed up, did exactly what I was bringing them in for and additionally gave a very high level estimate on some hypothetical work. Overall, he was professional, knowledgeable and didn't laugh at my DIY stuff.
Description of Work: I had replaced a 240v outlet with a 120 volt outlet which was a bad idea but as long as you didn't plug anything into it, was fine. I decided to finally admit defeat and call an electrician. On the phone we discussed the situation and likely costs associated with resolving it. The tech showed up and delivered. Definitely a good company to deal with based on my experience.

Sean from Nordeast showed up on time and was able to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue with the socket in my bathroom. He then took the time to listen to all of our questions (and we had a lot of them) and shared his honest opinion and advice on what we could do to reduce risks, providing practical suggestions in a prioritized order. He didn't try to sell us on upgrades we didn't need, but explained the reality of the age of our sub-panel and provided a high level estimate of what it might cost if we choose to make upgrades in the future. I really appreciated that he took the extra time to provide this advice - as I hadn't thought to put this in my original request when I called to request service for the outlet issue.
Description of Work: I needed a socket replaced in my bathroom and I had a number of questions I we had about reducing risk from potential electrical hazards in our home. We also had some questions about making potential upgrades in the future.

It went really well. I sent Bill, the owner, and email on a Saturday asking him to contact me. I wasn't expecting a reply until Monday, but he replied that day. When I told him what was wrong, he described two possible repair kits, depending on the damage, and asked me to send him photos of the cable. I sent him some on Sunday. He then described which repair kit would be needed and gave me the price for the kit and the service call. We agreed he would send someone out on Thursday. On Tuesday he called and said they had some cancellations and he could send someone out that day. I was really glad, as I was worried about ice dams on my roof. The person that came was right on time and repaired the cable. It has been working great and I am very pleased with the service. I will definitely use Nordeast Electric again.

Excellent. The young man came out and he spent a lot of time analyzing the situation. We figured out that it was something that was tripping it that was in the garage. He could have told us that we needed a whole new circuit breaker but he was ethical. The problem was fixed and I would use them again. The cost was moderate. They came the next day or maybe even the same day. I was surprised by the responsiveness.
