He was very good at showing us things that needed to be tended to before the sale of the house and distinguishing them from the things that did not need to be fixed. We trusted him with the keys both to our home and the new condo because we could not be there all the time. He did a great job of proving he is a trustworthy individual during this whole process. He was always on time and did a great job of cleaning up after each days work. Everything was on time according to the schedule he had laid out for us before starting the project. He is truly an artist with paint and stain, including making everything look brand new once he is finished with it. I was blown away with how excellent his work was on both places.

He never returned either of my calls so I can't provide any details. Based upon the reviews I was looking forward to working with NewDay LLC, but the lack of responsiveness is unacceptable.

Kurt and his crew painted our ceilings downstairs, up the stairs and in the hall upstairs. They were on time, trustworthy and neat. More to the point, we had that horrible popcorn ceiling that had to be taken out and New Day made sure that the dust from the work did not leave the room being worked on! They laid two layers of plastic sheeting to ensure the dust did not cove the room next to it. Amazingly, I did not find dust outside the worked on room even though they scraped and sanded for an entire week! And then plastered the ceilings so that you could never tell they had popcorn on them. Afterwards, they cleaned up wonderfully. I love my new ceilings! New Day is professional, competent and trustworthy -- I gave them a key to the house and they came and went as needed. Kurt even fixed my wooden steps outside on his lunch break by putting in some screws where needed! Nice guys -- would definitely recommend New Day.

Our house was pressure washed this summer and New Day was timely, professional, and the end results were amazing. We live near a busy road so a lot of dirt had built up on the shingles and after the pressure wash the difference was night and day. We would definitely use New Day again for this service.

We hired New Day to paint a home office and closet in our Victorian house. The doors, door casing, baseboard, baseshoe, and baseboard trim needed to be stripped and stained, and New Day transformed them to their original, character-filled 1880s splendor. The work was stunning. In the office, New Day patched as needed and painted the room flawlessly. In the closet, a lot of repair work with the original plaster walls had to be done, and gaps and holes were filled, sanded etc. The work was stellar and New Day cleaned up very thoroughly after completion of the project. I will definitely have them do all our future interior painting and woodwork refinishing projects.

We hired New Day to paint a variety of areas on the exterior of the house that had been complete/installed this summer. This included metal surfaces, like the flashing around our new rubber roof, wood surfaces, like cedar siding, and plastic surfaces, like our new pickets to the apron of our front porch. New Day cleaned, primed, and painted each of these surfaces using the particular materials necessary to ensure proper and ideal adhesion to the surface. The end result was beautiful exterior work - and on top of that New Day was prompt and very clean as well as respectful not to damage plants in the area. I will definitely hire New Day for any future exterior painting projects.

I think the timing of this job made it tricky for NewDay to take it on, since we were looking to have the painting done right after closing and before moving into our new home. In other words, the window to get it done was tight, and we called for an estimate in the middle of a busy moment. But once Kurt (the owner) put in a bid and then accepted to do the job, he and his crew performed quite well. We're very satisfied with the results -- the rooms they painted look great, matching our expectations. Beyond that, a couple of other things are worth mentioning re making a decision about employing NewDay. One is that Kurt made an extra effort to accommodate us in terms of signing the contract/paying under unusual circumstances. The other -- and far more important -- thing is that Kurt and his crew went out of their way to do extra work that would please us. I'd wanted to prep the built-ins in one of the rooms before they painted but didn't have time; they took care of it, at no extra charge. When they washed the deck, they also washed down the long, intricate walkway leading to the back entrance, careful to preserve the extensive landscaping along its side. We didn't ask for these -- they just did them. On top of this, Kurt is easy-going and pleasant to deal with. I'd certainly use NewDay again.

Kurt and his team did an amazing job fixing our plaster walls and ceiling, painting them, and staining new moulding to match existing woodwork. Kurt is a really friendly, courteous, and respectful guy. I have had bad experiences with other painters in the past, so it's nice to find someone as professional as Kurt. I highly recommend Neway to anyone.

Kurt was prompt, courteous, and professional. He provided an estimate for staining a fence. After deliberation I decided to stain the fence myself, but based on initial impressions I would absolutely use Kurt for future interior or exterior painting jobs.

Did not return calls.

Kurt (and his employee Cris) did an extremely professional job, not satisfied until they had removed any trace of glue, stabilized the surfaces with oil primer, and then recoating all surfaces with new spackle/plaster so the walls looked brand new. Not only is their work of the highest level, and their prices fair, but they are two of the nicest people I've ever met. Kurt stayed in touch and kept me posted along the way, and even came at night to get some of the work done more quickly because of a party we were having. I would use him again any time.

Although New Day did not perform the repairs this time, they would be the first on my list next time I need sheetrock work performed.

Kurt Grundmeier of New Day LLC did a great job of power-washing and repainting a complex lattice work that extends from the eaves of our house. This lattice work is a passive solar component on our house and it used to need repainting every two years. The quality of both the power-washing and the painting is evident in the fact that, several years later, the lattice work shows no signs of needing repainting.

Kurt has worked with us on a couple of interior projects, and we've always enjoyed having him around and knowing that he'll get the job done right. As usual, he did great work on this project and was very good at keeping us up to date on his progress.

Kurt Grundmeier of New Day LLC did an excellent job doing both interior and exterior painting for our house. The interior painting involved a great deal of wallpaper removal. We had a deadline for completing the work and needed to get it done while we were out of town. We loaned him a house key and when we returned everything was done completely to our satisfaction. He is not only a talented and careful craftsman, but a trustworthy person as well.

Kurt and New Day did extremely thorough and professional work on this project, delivering us the paint job my wife and I had been wishing for ever since we bought our house four years ago. The 125+ year-old house needed a lot of TLC and Kurt's attention to detail in vinyl patching and caulking in particular helped transform the old, rough siding into looking very sharp and smooth when the top coats were applied -- and also helped seal the house properly which will pay dividends come winter time. Kurt also kept me abreast of any developments that came up during the painting process which I appreciated, so I could weigh in and make decisions. We have already received many compliments from strangers walking by as we work in our yard on the stunning paint job Kurt undertook. I wholeheartedly recommend using New Day for any home owner's painting needs.

I made a phone call to New Day asking for a call back to further explain the requirements. I never received a call back.

Throughout the process Kurt was professional, responsive and eager to exceed our expectations. Each day he placed tarps on our floors to protect them and cleaned up before he left for the day. On the last day of the job I walked through the room and he answered questions and did touch ups upon my request. The job took exactly as long as he had estimated and the room looks wonderful! Working with Kurt was a great experience and we hope to work with him again in the future.

They were wonderful to work with. They were very friendly and worked around our schedule. The workmanship was very nice and clean. They worked closely with us to meet all of our expectations.

We can't say enough about Kurt and Chris! They were fantastic to work with. From the minute they came over for the estimate, all the way through our continued additions and changes, they were professional, responsive, thoughtful and clear. They had great advice and suggestions and, most importantly, they did excellent work. We were frankly amazed by how much they could do for the price, particularly as we've worked with a number of other high-quality painters/plaster repair companies in the area (we live in a 1920s home that seems to constantly need something). The plaster work was particularly impressive... we had significant ice dam damage in our sunroom and they made it look like new.Highly recommended!

Kurt and Chris were wonderful to work with! We had such a great experience. They were very professional and made me feel so comfortable while they were working. We have three kids and it can be difficult having any work done and trying to balance day-to-day life, but they made it so easy for us. They became part of the family!!!!! (Even my dog was happy to see them each morning!) They painted the entire interior of our home, including a 30 foot vaulted room. They were meticulous and very easy to work with! They fixed every nail pop and every flaw in the walls before painting. The job was done so well! They want to please their clients! We cannot wait to use them again. Thanks, Kurt and Chris! Well, Kurt, was a very easy to get ahold of. Came out at our convenience to give us an estimate. He was very respectful of what we needed done and gave us a good estimate. Then he and another guy came out in a few days and tore the wall down, cleaned up all the mess and put up a new drywall all within 2-3 hours. On the first day they also did the taping and the first plaster. Kurt came out 2 days later to put the 2nd layer of plaster at the joints and did some feathering. And the third day Kurt came out again and did the final layer. It all was very professional. Plus, Kurt was a very approachable guy...very nice.

My wife and I have been fortunate to be using New Day for a wide variety of projects dating back to September 2011. Kurt and New Day have done an outstanding job in our efforts to restore our Victorian house to its period appearance and design. We have had five phases thus far, and each of which have turned out beautifully and beyond our expectations thanks to Kurt’s skills and eye for detail. The first phase involved stripping, sanding, staining, and finishing nearly 10 large doors from the 1880s, some of which had nearly a half-dozen layers of paint and whitewash on them. Kurt was able to turn these hodgepodge-looking doors into their original, glorious condition – something I thought would be near impossible to do. Kurt was able to match the stain of these doors to the dominant trim stain throughout the house perfectly, often through a careful mixing of different types of stain to get the match just right. The second phase was a stripping, sanding, staining and finishing of door and window casing/trim, baseboard, base shoe, and windows in my wife’s office as well as cabinetry in a near by linen cupboard area. This was another difficult task that New Day met with meticulous detail – namely removing all the old paint and oils from the many grooves of the casing and rosette corner pieces in the room. Kurt once again transformed to old Douglas Fir to its period look, and perfectly matched the doors he had previously finished. In the third phase, Kurt had to tackle cracked and peeled dry wall and tape in the process of a three ceiling painting project. Through a series of steps, in which he plastered & sanded to get the ceiling looking very smooth, he was exacting in his work and shined lights at the ceiling at different angles to make sure he got every dent or crack in the ceilings. After the dining, living, and kitchen ceilings were painted the difference was night and day. In the fourth phase, which took place in January of this year, I gave Kurt the task of turning the “popcorn” ceiling of my bedroom into a normal, smooth appearance like the ceilings in the rest of the house. After a multi-step process of power sanding, plastering, sanding etc. it was hard to believe that the 1970s popcorn look was now gone and a clean, smooth ceiling that matched the rest of the house now graced the bedroom. This was not an easy task, but Kurt made it look effortless, due no doubt to his vast experience and expertise. I was so impressed with what Kurt had done with the trim in my wife’s office that for the fifth phase, just completed in March, I had Kurt give the same treatment to the trim, baseboards, base shoe, and windows in the bedroom and bedroom closet. This multi-step process of stripping the old layers away and matching the stain to the doors he had finished last September was implemented to perfection once again, showing the pride in workmanship Kurt consistently displays. The bedroom closet had additional needs due to the very noticeable cracking of the plaster in the walls, which he was able to fix as well. I recommend Kurt without hesitation not only for his talented skills in painting, staining, and woodwork restoration but also his adeptness and flexibility in making any changes that turn up during a restoration process. But he is not simply knowledgeable and skilled, he is also trustworthy and genial, which is always important when someone is working in and on your home. My wife and I have been so impressed with all his work, we will be using Kurt for phase six and beyond as we tackle more rooms in our Victorian home.

The overall experience with NewDay painting was EXCELLENT!

Curt was very friendly and asked lots of questions when he came to check out job. He followed up in a timely manner with the estimate, and gave a reasonable time frame for completing the job. He and Chris came at the agreed upon time and worked all day, and were very neat and conscientious when picking up each day. On their own, they offered to add in a few areas for free which were near other areas that they were working on. Both men were a pleasure to work with. They finished in the time frame we agreed upon, and again, were respectful of our home when cleaning up. We would use them again!
