The deck was in very bad shape. The owner, Barak, inspected it himself after cleaning to be sure that all the problems had been addressed. Both the office and job site crews were responsive and professional. The deck looks great, the price was reasonable. Highly recommend this company.

They did a great job power washing the deck down to bare boards, effectively stripping it. And we were able to consult with them to determine what we wanted to have for the new stain. When they came back to do the staining, they did a thorough and very neat/clean job of it. They did excellent work and we fully intend to have them back periodically to refresh the stain.

Amazing! Barak and his team are incredibly professional. I would not hesitate to use them again. What I really appreciated was Barak's honesty and transparency from the beginning. He told us exactly what he could and could not do. He made recommendations on things, but always let us make the final decision. The work was done while we were on vacation, and it was such a treat to come home to a new (again) deck! I thought the price was extremely fair given the large size of our deck and intricacies of our gazebo. He ended up applying a third layer of stain, and he didn't even charge us for it because he just wanted it to come out looking nice. This is a top-notch company with a top-notch owner. I recommend you allow plenty of time between when you hire Barak and when you want the work done. Because he is so good at what he does, he has a fairly long waitlist. We called first in the middle of May, and the work started the middle of July. It was worth it. I'm glad we waited!

I have a large upper deck with pergola and stairs. Six years ago we replaced all the wood including the railing. We made the mistake of staining with a solid stain recommended by Consumer Reports. Within a year it started to peel, especially on the deck floor. I hired New Again Deck Renewal to restain the deck using an oil-based semi-transparent stain. Their suggestion was to leave the railing alone since it was still mostly intact, and just do the deck floor and stairs. The colors matched so I agreed and they did a good job. Some sanding was needed. Four years later it need to be restained and now I hoped all of the solid stain could also be removed. I called in March hoping to get an early summer date for the job. I heard nothing. I called again in May and asked when I could expect a definite date. I did get an estimate of $997, but only very vague promises. I called again in early June and again heard nothing but excuses and delays. Unless I initiated the contact, I never had any idea what was happening. Finally on June 29 a guy showed up with a power washer. The deck floor looked fine afterward, but the railing was left a blotchy mess. (See before picture). He didn’t even touch the pergola. Barak wanted my feedback and I told him about all of the stain left on the railing. At his request I sent a couple of pictures, but no one ever came out to look at the situation and suggest a solution. I also sent payment for half the estimate as requested. Instead, I got more excuses and more delays. After FOUR WEEKS, two guys showed up with a sander and some stain. When I talked to them, they said sanding would be too big a job and take too long. They said maybe more power washing would work. They left. One week later (week 5) Barak showed up with a power washer. I told him to leave the horizontal part of the pergola alone. We would live with the stain there. His suggestion was to restain the railing with the solid stain again, except for the top boards. I reluctantly agreed. I could tell he really didn’t want to spend the time to power wash it properly. I gave the name of the stain we had used. He left. We sanded the railing top boards over the weekend to remove the last remnants of stain. On Sunday (week 6) I e-mailed Barak and told him we had sanded and the deck was now ready to stain. I asked for a firm date. No response. I e-mailed again on Monday again asking for a date. No response. No one was answering the office phone either. On Tuesday I called his cell phone and asked why he hadn’t replied. He said he had nothing to say (What?). I admit I kind of lost it at that point. It was clear I was fed up. I did try one more time, saying that I would use Angie’s List complaint resolution system if I had to. Two days later I got an e-mail with a half-baked apology for wasting my time, but he had decided he didn’t want to work on my project. Actually that was clear from the get-go. He refunded the money I had spent so far. That left me with a mess and no chance to hire someone else this late in the season (mid-Aug). All this time we had also been living with the deck furniture inside the dining area and laundry room in the house so the deck would be kept clear. I did come up with a plan B. My daughter and 16 yr. old grandson volunteered to sand and stain. They removed all of the residual stain from the railings using two palm sanders and stained with the same stain used by NADR. I am pleased with the results. They were done by Labor Day. Pictures are after sanding and after staining. I know this is a long explanation, but it is the only way to describe my experience with this company. Beware.

I used the online quote process and sent pictures of the deck where repair was needed. I received an email the following day saying I would receive a quote. I followed up with multiple emails only to receive a note that an onsite visit was required. A visit never occurred and after another follow-up email, I gave up and went with another provider. An F for not getting back to potential customers.

It went great and looks great, second time I have used them.

Tried to call number listed on 7/23/16--phone out of service. Sent email about desired project same day. Next day received email from someone in the office stating Barak was "out of the office" until 7/26/16 and he would contact me then and set up a time to meet. No contact via phone or email received on 7/26/16. I sent an email 7/27/16 asking about the promised contact. Was told how busy they were but my message would be given to Barak and he would contact me. Again, no one even attempted to contact me via phone or email. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Would never hire such a non responsive service provider as I couldn't trust them to do any sort of project if they can't even get it together to take 2 minutes to reply to a potential customer or fulfill THEIR promise of getting back to me. Also, a business with an out of service phone line is concerning in today's day and age.

He spent the extra time required to get additional materials, the additional time to rebuild the stairs, and ended up charging me a very reasonable additional cost when this is the kind of thing other contractors take advantage of. All things considered, I?m very pleased with how the whole job went and have a lot of trust in Barak and New Again Deck Renewal.

I contacted the provider last fall about staining my deck. He provided a bid and I said i wanted to go ahead with the work. He was booked but said I would be on the schedule to be one of the first to be done in the spring. I contacted him early spring asking if the work could be done by early May, he said they would do their best to meet that request. Since then, my emails have bounced back as undeliverable and they don't take messages on their company phone #.

No issues. Prompt and courteous. Did most communication back and forth via email which worked good.

Barak and his team did a tremendous job. They worked extremely hard and did the entire job in 1 day. Their Office staff was extremely communicative and was very helpful in scheduling a time that worked well for us. Not only were they the most affordable but I really believe that they did the highest quality job.

I have a very large old deck that had not been cleaned and re-stained for several years. Prior companies had used a stain that did not penetrate well. Barak and his team did an excellent job of removing the old stain and cleaning the deck. While working the crew was careful with the landscaping around the deck. With a new coat of penetrating stain, the deck looks beautiful. Barak was very helpful with advise on how to keep my deck maintained. He showed much expertise and passion for his work!

Excellent. The work was done as promised and for a reasonable price. I had a lot of trouble finding someone who would do this kind of job--we didn't need a new deck but we needed more than a simple clean and stain. The work is well-done (even my very particular and handy husband agrees) and we will be having them back in the spring to sand and stain the rest.

,very knowledgeable and professional. Do to high demand, which is testament to the quality of work, I had to wait longer than expected but it was worth the wait. Although I used a stain color not recommended, I love the end result. I wanted the wood grain of the cedar to show and remain almost its natural color therefore, I selected the honey tone stain. The cost was reasonable and I do plan to use this company again,

Barak and his team did an amazing job! They went far beyond my expectations. My project was very challenging and they did outstanding work. They treated my deck restoration like it was for their own home. They were great to work with from start to finish and I couldn't be happy with my new deck.

We were happy with the results and the price. They obviously did have scheduling issues this summer and it did take a long time to get the job completed. Overall, it turned out as planned.

To get an A, they should do the work in a more timely fashion. Price was very good. I would use them in the future only if they would guarantee when they were going to do the work. The work was good. It was just I waited almost until summer to have it done. Their pricing and the quality of their work were good. Just make sure you get guarantees on time.

After my husband power-washed the deck, we were searching for a reliable company to stain the deck. After reading 8-10 reviews from various providers, we determined that New Again Deck Renewal was our choice. It was late Fall and upon talking to the owner, Barak, he said he was very booked up.After pleading our case and when he was informed that the deck was power washed to the best of my husband's ability, he sent someone out to take pictures and look over the deck. Within 2 days he sent us an estimate (beyond reasonable) and we were in business. Within 2 weeks, the deck was cleaned, and stained. It is beyond what we could have hoped for. It is beautiful, and has never looked better. We learned a lot from the capable men Adam and Michael-who worked so hard to make the deck "new again. The name of the company is perfect considering the professional work that was done and everything about New Again Deck Renewal is beyond compare.
