Had a VERY hard-to-fix break in the sewer line. Sam and Stephen figured out a workable solution. They were very informative and helpful and showed me what was being done at each stage. I am very happy with the work that was done. If you have a sewer line problem, this is the team to call!

I would absolutely use this company again. I had them come out to take a look at my shower plumbing as my pipes froze with the cold weather. Dennis came out and started his diagnosis by removing the shower handle cartridge as he thought that could be the issue. After doing this and testing the shower he diagnosed that I probably had a pipe freeze in the garage. Dennis recommended either putting holes in my ceiling to locate the pipe, which was costly, or try heating the garage with a space heater and see if that helps. I decided to do that and give them a call if it didn’t work. As Dennis completed his work he said he was not going to charge me anything as it didn’t feel right to charge me when the problem wasn’t fixed by him....who does that these days? I’m glad to say that after a few hours, my shower is now working! So glad I chose this company to come out and look at my shower. They saved me a ton of money!

Mr. Rooter (Minneapolis, MN) was recommended to me as a preferred plumbing vendor for Renter's Warehouse, my property management company. In March of 2017, I commissioned Mr. Rooter to address a leaking jacuzzi tub and leaking kitchen faucet. The jacuzzi tub required extensive and expensive re-work as it continued to leak after it was deemed fully repaired by the Mr. Rooter technician. This need for rework was only flushed out by the general contractor who requested my tenants test the tub prior to him installing a new ceiling, drywall, and flooring that were all damaged by the leak. Thank god for the diligence of this general contractor and his wariness of the plumbing "fix". Fast forward to this week as I receive the results of a home inspection and learn that my brand new, Mr. Rooter installed kitchen sink, sold to me as the source and solution to my kitchen sink leak problem, is in fact leaking at the supply line fittings. I asked the manager to do right by me and give them an opportunity to take responsibility for their workmanship and was told that they hold firm to their 30 day warranty and opt not to even take a look at the situation, much less resolve it. This leak was detected 3 months after the "fix" as the house had been vacant for the majority of that time. I did not intend to write a poor review in April when I had difficulties with jacuzzi leak root cause identification and resolution. However, when the manager abdicated any responsibility towards the poor job identifying and resolving my kitchen sink leak, I felt obligated to share my experience so that others are aware of the poor service I received.

Noticed water in the basement, Called Mr Rooter for a quote, they wouldnt give a quote but said a plumber would come out and quote. Plumber came out next morning and quoted $900-$1000 to jet it out. So I said I will try it with a snake first. Tried it with a snake and didnt have any luck. Around 9pm called Mr rooter to have them come out and Jet it out. Guys came out and quoted $1300 now. We couldnt use sinks, toilet, showers etc... unless that drain was cleaned out. So I was in a dead end and had to get it done. I felt like they knew that and thats why the charge so high. It took them aprox 30 min from arrive to packing and leaving. They got it done but $1300 in under 30 min was an insane charge. Service was good, pricing was horrible.

I discovered in the middle of the night that I had no water from any of my faucets. I assumed my pipes were frozen, and called Mr. Rooter since they had 24-hour emergency service. The VERY kind woman I talked with said that it was OK to wait until morning and that she would send someone by at 8. Around 4AM the water was back and I called her to cancel. She suggested that someone come by anyway--no charge--just to check and figure out what had happened. She called around 8 to say that Stephen would be there in about 15 minutes. He arrived--also very kind and friendly--asked me questions (e.g., water sputtered when it first came back), said that the water had been turned off, that I was not actually at risk of frozen pipes (the location of my condo unit), and left. So no work actually performed, but a very favorable impression! (The city had turned the water off to do some work and had left notes on people's doors, but for some reason not on mine)
Description of Work: Talked to me, checked my faucets, correctly diagnosed what had happened--no charge

The technician seemed to not know what he was doing. Every time he would make a repair something else would happen with the piping. I thought the pricing was very high because of how much time they had to spend fixing the problem. He spent at least 2 hours trying to fix a small leak. He did finally get the issue resolved. I had no problem scheduling the service but the workmanship was poor. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

On a saturday night at 9pm, our basement flooded after giving the baby a bath. We called Mr. Rooter to come and clean the sewer line. The came with 1.5 hrs and attempted clear the line. The provider stated that he tried to auger the mainline with 6, 4, 3, 2, and 1/2 inch cutters but couldn't get past 20 to 30 feet and that the blade came back shiny and with sand. He stated we had a possible mainline break and attempted to televise but couldn't see anything. He said the repair would be in the range of $4-10,000 and they would call us on monday to schedule the work. We decided to get a second opinion and called a company that has LOTs of positive reviews on Angie's list. That company only cleans drains. They do not repair or line them. So, they had no vested interest in our line being broken or intact. The second company started with a kinked line. got through to 100 ft on the first try, and brought up a bunch of tree roots. The provider worked his way up to a 6 inch cutter blade and out to 100 ft consistently. He observed no evidence of line breakage (no sand, not even in the roots, and the blade was not shiny). The cost of the successful cleaning was less than half the cost of the failed attempt! The second provided recommended proactively cleaning the line every 12 months. I will follow that advice with provider number 2 and will not be using Mr. Rooter again.

.This company came out to my house at 1 in the morning, checked my drain for about 5 minutes then said I would need the special jet water service. The guy came back an hour later. He was very unprofessional! He smelled like pot and used the F word alot. He was here for maybe 45 minutes and charged me almost $1000!!! What?!!!! I was so mad, I would not sign the contract. He ended up signing his name in the customer spot. Complaining to the office the next day got me nowhere. They had charged my account already and did not seem to care. I called another plumber the next day and he said the most it should have cost was $300. Such a rip off!!! Do not use these people.

Without warning the water drain in our basement started to flood the laundry room. I immediately assumed the main water pipe was clogged and suggested to my husband that we call someone to come out and fix it ASAP, as we could not flush a toilet, run a faucet or do laundry. My husband contacted Mr. Rooter at about 7:45pm and was told that someone would be arriving within the hour. Adam arrived at our home about 45 minutes later and was quick to confirm my diagnosis. Adam gave us two options to clear the clog, the "Hydro-Scrub" ($1200) or (I can't remember their term) snaking through the pipe to break up the clog using a large, loud machine ($480). We chose the cheaper option. Adam was very professional and courtious (though he did not wear shoe covers into our newly finished basement). He answered all of our questions, was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. He was there about 60-90 minutes and the problem was resolved and will hopefully stay that way. He cleaned up the area nicely and seemed to be very careful removing and replacing our toilet. Neither my husband or I are knowledgeable in the area of plumbing so I have no idea if this price point is a complete rip-off or not. Basically, we chose Mr. Rooter because they would come out for "free" later at night. Overall, we were happy to have the problem resolved quickly so that we could resume washing clothes, showering and using the bathrooms without our laundry room flooding! We used a 10% off coupon from their website so it ended up costing $440. ,

I was originally going to give them a bad rating, but my issue was resolved! Our house was built in 1937 and the main line to the street is very old. After running the washing machine, the water backed up in the laundry room, simultaneously the toilet line backed up in the furnace room. Good times! The technician was Emanuel B. He was professional and polite. He tried to clear the drain using a cable -- which was a $447 charge. But because of the size of the line and the root mass he needed to bring in the "Hydro Scrub". This is super high-pressure water which literally blows the roots to kingdom come! The cost of this was $1462.80. While doing the "Hydro Scrub" he discovered that the tiles in the line were "offset" and he recommended that the line be replaced. He gave us an estimate to do this and it came to over $10K. Yes, that's right $10,000 to dig up the frozen yard and reline the main sewer line to the street. We decided to wait on replacing the entire line because the technician guaranteed that this work would last at least 6 months. Now, just 2 months and 4 days later, on a weekend, of course, the line is CLOGGED AGAIN. <NOTE: Here's where I was quite upset with Mr. Rooter.> There was NO GUARANTEE in place--because Emanuel's guarantee was verbal. And for some reason the "warranty" column on my invoice was X-ed out. My technician thought that we should not have to pay for it, but his manager requested that we pay him and they would sort it out on Monday. The warranty/guarantee for the original work on December 12 became a game of "he-said-she-said" and the technician was clearly stuck in the middle. Because it was a weekend, and because I needed the drain to be cleared, the tech cleared the drain and charged me $375. He applied a coupon we found online. Naturally, I was really upset by this. And was appalled at the weekend customer service. HOWEVER -- on Monday, I emailed and followed up by phone with their customer service person and she REFUNDED MY MONEY! This made me quite happy -- they listened to what I had to say and were courteous and understanding. Turns out, that roots can't continue to grow without the energy provided by the leaves-- I checked Google! The roots causing this back-up were missed on the first service in December. I will be getting multiple bids for replacing the line as soon as spring time comes, and will consider Mr. Rooter. Hopefully, we don't have any more issues with water backing up.
Description of Work: Used a "hydro scrub" high pressure jet to clear our main sewer line which was backing up--water from both the washing machine and the toilet.

Originally we caled on Dec 10 to have a drain cleared. It was done quickly but was VERY expensive. He claimed that the special equipment he was using would solve all of our problems and charged us $430.00. He said the expense was for this special equipment he was using. Now, less than 45 days later, we have the same problem and he wants another $430. He was rude and he was late. We would never recommend or use this company ever again. ** Update ** The Company did someone else out and they did what should have happened the first time, they ran auger through, cleared the drain and it is running well. They did not charge for the second call. There was no charge for the expensive special equipment that was used the first time through.

Alex and Jason were prompt and conscientious, as well as knowledgeable about the other plumbers bidding for the work. The selling point was their bid itself, which was the most detailed appraisal of the project, and included the work they did on the pipe to ascertain the initial problem. Best of all, they offered a maximum price for the project, not just a baseline. Even with all of that, they were still flexible with price, knocking money off to beat the competition. They worked efficiently, cleaned up after themselves, and offered no surprises. They cared about the job, not just getting it, but doing it well.

We contacted Mr Rooter and they scheduled an time for the next day. The plumber that came to out house was on time professional and respectful. He explained that the cartridge was bad and that we would need a new one. The Part alone was $80+ and was not easy to find. He was able to locate one after some trying and went to pick the part, returned a little while later and completed the repair the same day. I was impressed that they left the area clean when they were finished and did not track dirt through my home. Overall I am very happy with the work they preformed and would use them again.

I was told the project would take one day and given a written estimate of $2500 and then after 2 days of work, I was charge $3900. Their website clearly states: tells you the price before they start. Not only did they show up 3 hours late on the first day, then it took 2 days to finish the project because they had overbooked their employees and did not send the number of people needed for the job, then they charged me close to double the original written estimate. When the job was finished the guy in charge told the plumber to clean up to the customer's satisfaction and then the plumber gave me the bill, took my check and said "this was really messy, you have a lot to clean up in the next couple days" leaving the entire room covered in dirt and concrete dust as well as leaving muddy footprints throughout the basement included one of the carpeted rooms.

They showed up on time... at approx 10:15am. Guy called me and said he had been there for a little while, walking around the place?? Not sure why or what that meant. I asked him to turn on the main water valve, which was missing a knob, so I could not do it. He said he found the knob on the floor and turned the water on. I asked him to check for leaks... he said OK. He said a shower valve was leaking and the part was about $50... he said the total would be $460 dollars!!! Which is crazy... the reason I called them was they had an $80 coupon on ANGIES LIST for a "free" visit- He knew nothing of the coupon, so he said he would call the office. He called the office and said it was still $460 dollars because he was giving me discount on the shower cartidge... which made no sense. I was ripped off and will never use this company again. I has a buyers inspection the next morning... so I had to have the work done- he knew that and took advantage of me & did not honor his coupon. $460 to turn on the water and change a shower cartidge in less than 3 hours?? Why was he there 3 hours anyway?? They use the Angies' List coupon to get in the door, and thern over-charge. Tom

Just as we sat down to dinner we heard water running in the basement. We found that an old pipe was spraying water all over. We had to shut off water to the entire house to stop it. At 7 pm it was not easy to find someone that could come out. We called Mr. Rooter and they said the could have someone here between 8 and 10pm. At 8:30 Alex arrived. We showed him the pipe and he discussed options. Our main goal was to get the water back on for the rest of the house. We decided just to cut out the bad pipe and cap it rather than try and replace a bunch of the old pipe. Alex quickly grabbed the gear he needed from the truck and very quickly and efficiently cut the old pipe, disconnected it at the closest joint and installed a copper cap. The entire repair was finished within about an hour. We were very happy with his work.

he fix the leak in the pipe. than he show me a small leak in the pipe, that the water meter sits on..I told him that the water meter was being remove from the outside on the house and a new meter was being put on. I show him the outside meter. He called his office to ask where the new meter would go in the inside of house. He was told that the meter would be put on the wall next to the main water meter. Then he told me I had 2 options> 1. was to put in a rubber gasket for a temporay fix( that might last) That would cost about 250.00 or 300.00 dollars. But I needed to let him know right away, because he had to get the gasket from Duluth. 2. was to replace the whole pipe and water meter. That would cost about $500.00 to $600.00.---plus a permit and a part from city of Plymouth.( part was going to be about $70.00). So he left to go and talk to the city of Plymouth. He came back about 25 minutes later. He said that they would pay for the permit and put it on our bill and the part the city would put on our water bill. I was told I needed to let him know what I wanted to do, because a master plumper would come back tomorrow at 12:00 to do the job. If it was the gasket to replace, then he had to run to Duluth to get it. We told him we were going to wait and call him if we needed him. When he left II called the city of Plymouth and ask them about the water meter and they said don't do anything until Phil(employee of the city) comes out. Phil arrive the next day looked at the meter and replace the new meter that was on the pipe that Mr.Rooter said that was going on the wall. Phil also brought the part to fix the leak and also brought the rubber gasket( which was free from the city) Phil told us that we didn't need a permit and if we wanted to use the rubber gasket and return the part they would refund us. Plus he said that we could fix it ourselves, that it was easy to do and the rubber gasket could be purchase at any hardware store. My questions are: Did he go to the city of Plymouth to get information? Did he actually call his office to ask questions about the water meter or did they give him the wrong information? Why did he have to go to Duluth to get the rubber gasket? I fell that I was being taken from this company. When I called the company the manger Michelle was supposed to get some information and get back to me before the end of the work day, Never heard from her. I called back on Friday and talk to the owner, did not get much answered. The Onwer was going to talk to the city of Plymouth. Still have not heard back.

Called to have my leaky bathtub spout threaded (so I wouldn't have to deal with any more weak plastic parts). Also needed it done that same day because other work was being held-up due to the leak. Telephone rep was efficient and polite, and plumber was dispatched that same morning. Jeff arrived, looked around, discussed options, then went to work. Job was completed quickly. When I returned later in the day I noticed that Jeff put my old tub spout back on the pipe, rather than a new one. Also, the price seemed unreasonable -- but I was in a time crunch so just went ahead and had it done.
Description of Work: Installed threaded end on my bathtub spout.
