Description of Work: In the end we got a good garage. Inspectors and other that have seen it say that it is good work. The workers all seemed to care about doing quality work. They were helpful in helping us decide what features we wanted in the garage. For example my wife was worried about getting two cars into a garage with a 16 foot door and they suggested a 18 foot door. Unfortunately communication within the company and between the company and us was poor. We had multiple people asking us about things we had already spoken to someone else about. It took a whole lot longer than it should have and many times they did not show up when they were supposed to and did not call. As a result of how long it took we were unable to get a new driveway laid before fall. They lost record of one of our payments and sent the final bill before finishing. In summary we like the garage but the process was a hassle.

Description of Work: Tore down and built new garage. The end product makes me happy but.. Had I known they weren't going to finish off the access door I wouldn't have paid extra for it. didn't clean up after themselves very well. But the biggest complaint I have is they are not very good about setting expectations. Had I been told in July I'd be using the garage by Christmas they would have set and made my expectations but not giving me a time frame left me to set my own expectations which they didn't meet. I do really like the end product though.

Description of Work: Joe was the first builder I consulted with this year as I began my quest for a contractor. He was prompt, professional and incredibly knowledgeable. I had Joe bid on two different size detached garages. The smaller was geared towards the maximum allowed by the city without requiring a variance. The second (24'x36') was sized to comfortably store three vehicles and yard equipment. Joe was not your typical salesman. I didn't feel pressured during any part of our meeting. He was very easy going, and even offered to attend the city council meetings with me if a variance was required. His bids were provided within a day of our meeting, and they were VERY competitive. I ultimately chose a different contractor that would build my detached garage and continue with other home improvement projects.

Description of Work: Minneapolis Garage Construction excavated (demolished) a backyard wood screen porch that had a cedar shingle roof, screen walls, and a wood deck floor. It was roughly the size of a single car garage. There was no access to the yard for a bobcat, so their demolition approach was to take it apart piece by piece and to manually remove the debris from the yard. Their demolition approach was very good and thoughtful in terms of safety and avoiding inadvertent collapse. I needed to get this screen porch removed in order to proceed with a landscaping project. They provided a response to my request for a quote within a day and completed the job within about a week after I approved the contract proposal, which allowed me to proceed with landscaping. They did a great job removing and hauling away debris and cleanup. I was very happy with their responsiveness, great work and timely response.

Description of Work: Minneapolis Garage Construction just gave an estimate in the beginning of summer. I had him to have a look for what the cost would be for repairing and rebuilding the garage.

Description of Work: I had an old single car garage, slab, and two stumps removed. Then Joe's team poured a new slab and built a 2.5 car garage in it's place in a matter of a couple of weeks.

Description of Work: The crawl-space foundation for an addition was excavated, including removal of a large tree stump, and a concrete block foundation was installed.
