It went great, Andy our service technician did an amazing job! He got here early and the job was tricky with an older home but he came up with a creative solution and did it quickly! We were very pleased with the service and the price and how the repair was done. Thanks again Andy for a great job!

Dana arrived within a half-hour of our call, go the door open (not easy for him either) and re-keyed the door. He was friendly and professional. I have taken key issues to their store before and had excellent results. This was their first "house call" to my home and I would definitely call on them again if the need should arise. Dana said he had over 30 years experience as a locksmith. He is a real pro. I felt the $100 was money very well spent.

On Friday night, I had had my bag stolen with house keys and my name and address in it (on Rx meds), so I was eager to have the house rekeyed ASAP. As I looked for locksmiths, though, the first few were not even open on Saturday. A few looked like they had someone "on call," but I assumed that meant extra expensive, so I kept looking. Minneapolis Lock & Key posted Saturday hours (8:30 to 12 noon), so I called immediately at 8:30. Brian came right away and rekeyed all three doors.

This was my first time using their service based on reviews through Angies List. Dana (nearly 40 yrs experience) was prompt, friendly and highly professional. We have an antique front door that is over 65 years old. I was worried that all the hardware would have to be replaced, but Dana was able to repair the inside mechanism an coordinate the two locks so the same key can open/lock either. He also tightened up the hardware which was a vast improvement from the way it was working previous to his visit. We also had an antique grandfathers clock - the key had broken off inside the lock. It took him all of 5 minutes to repair the lock so it was fully operational. Good bye to the packing tape that I have used on door and clock for over a year. The cost was reasonable, and I would not hesitate to call them again for future work. Great job!

Excellent workmanship and professionalism! Brian showed up right on time. Our remodeling contractor had installed the locking door handles and deadbolts incorrectly a few years ago, so they were malfunctioning. Brian fixed what could be fixed and installed a far better key pad deadbolt on the front door. He did an excellent job of explaining things and really went above and beyond in service. Highly recommended!

I was able to get a same-day appointment, which was great. Dana arrived early, but offered to wait until the appointment time, which I thought was nice. I was home already, so it was fine for him to come over early. He quickly replaced the deadbolt, and adjusted another deadbolt on the property at no extra charge. The price was as quoted on the phone beforehand, which is always nice. He was very courteous (took snowy boots off, etc.). I would use Minneapolis Lock & Key again.

My Grandpa put this lock in the cabin he built in the mid 50's. When the lock broke my Mom pried the door open damaging the lock and mangling the strike plate. I brought the lock to Minneapolis Lock and Key. He wasn't sure it could be fixed but would try. In 2 days I got a call that the lock was fixed and cost $25.00. I was overjoyed for sentimental reasons and because a replacement was around $300.00. I installed the lock and it worked smoother than I can remember. I didn't realize the strike plate was missing (a conversation with Mom cleared that up). I drew the details and went back to Minneapolis Lock and Key. They had a vintage strike plate that would fit for just $7. I am so grateful to have a business like this in town, people who repair vintage locks for a fair price and quickly.

Instead of paying for an on-site visit from them, I got and used the lubricant they recommended. It worked beautifully.

Vern is awesome. He thinks of things to save me time that I would never think of. I've had him change locks for my properties for years. He is the only locksmith I would use.

So helpful, friendly, thorough; He went out to my car 2 times to make sure the keys worked perfectly. Also took time to advise me how to keep the locks working in winter. I'll go back there for all key needs.

This was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. The person who took my call to schedule the appointment was thorough and polite. The technician who came to the house was prompt and professional. They were unable to repair the one damaged lock but left the keyed lock to use in the new lock. The cost was exactly what was estimated. I would highly recommend this vendor.

We are very fortunate to have them nearby...a short drive, and lots of expertise and immediate service. I bought in a malfunctioning door knob/lock assembly, they diagnosed the problem and sold me an inexpensive part so I could still use the assembly and save a lot of time, money, and trouble.

I was called back right away and given an estimate over the phone, which was less than the others I received. He was able to schedule me for the next day, which I really appreciated. He arrived early and worked quickly, explaining what he would be doing and what he couldn't do (it turned out that 2 doors could not be keyed together without changing one of the locks). Only problem was that one of the keys I received doesn't work (I think he may have given me the wrong one because it's completely different from it's "mate") but that's easily fixed. I will definitely use them again.

I was served promptly and given the information I needed to make a decision. While I was there I had a copy of my auto key made. It was a difficult ,unusual key but the made 4 attempts until they got it right. Each time, the mnager came out to my car and tried it himself. I went on vacation the next day and all of the services at my home were performed without me present. We kept in contact by phone during the installation. aaaaaaaaaaaaathey completed it promptly and advised me of what they had done and the final price which was less than the estimate.

I had a Thule bike rack mounted on the spare tire of my car. I discovered I couldn't get the key into the bike rack lock to remove the rack from my spare tire if I had a flat tire. I stopped by Minneapolis Lock and Key and they worked on the lock and sprayed some stuff into the lock to see if it would clean it out. They didn't charge for this work. The lock didn't "unfreeze" so I went to back the next week. One of the guys worked carefully on the lock and finally got the key in and working. The lock was full of rust (lesson learned for me). Saved me from having to have the lock drilled out. These guys were so very nice, helpful, and patient. I highly recommend them!

I called Mpls Lock & Key and they were able to come out to the house right away. Hired to re-key all the locks in my house and garage. Very punctual, professional, and friendly. I will definitely use them again. I highly recommend them.
