The work was done well, and everyone involved was professional and pleasant. They kept me informed every step of the way. The work was initially supposed to be done in 1 day, but ended up being stretched over 3 days -- which was a little inconvenient, but in retrospect a minor issue. They only needed to dig one hole, and my yard was restored to it's original state. I had originally contacted Roto Rooter, and their estimate was significantly higher and involved a more extensive repair -- which I found out later wasn't necessary. I appreciate the honesty and integrity that Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water showed, and I would recommend them to others.

Wow- I can't say enough good things about this company. Our sewer has always required an annual cleaning. However the last twelve months required four visits from sewer companies. Mpls Suburban was the first company willing to come out and look at the problem without a housecall charge. Ron showed us the camera view of our main sewer line. The news was not good. One section of pipe was made of cast iron and it was sinking, causing continual backups. Ron gave us a couple of options to solve the problem, and prices for each solution. Due to the rainy weather in May and June, the company was behind schedule. They stayed in regular contact, and offered to come out and look at any problems for FREE while we waited for an opening in their schedule. They completed the work and followed up on our questions promptly. Great place - definitely a Super Star company.

Everything went very well until recently. I emailed Kevin in late winter to ask about scheduling the liner work in the spring. He was not yet scheduling, but offered to email me when he was able to schedule. True to his word, he emailed and set up Wednesday, June 11th for the work. On June 9th, Kevin emailed to let me know they need to reschedule. He could schedule my house anytime after July 8th. So basically, I got bumped to the very bottom of the list, so he can wrap up every other appointment booked to date and then get around to my house. That's much later than I wanted this work completed (hence, the email in the winter). Now I seem to be back at square one - having to meet with different companies, get quotes, explain the problem, have them use their own cameras to see the line (probably at a cost to me), etc., etc., etc. Needless to say I'm pretty disappointed. I thought these plumbing issues would be behind me and I'd never have to think about tree roots again.

Our main sewer drain was clogged. Another company had partially cleared the drain and said we needed to dig up the front yard to replace the entire pipe. I called Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water for a second opinion. Kevin and his brother arrived on time, used a camera in the pipe and determined that the drain was still partially clogged. They needed a longer piece of equipment, so they arranged to come back the following day. They cleared the entire drain, sent the camera back down, and determined that there was no need to replace the pipe. Kevin and his brother were professional and reasonably priced. They did not charge for the use of the camera or for the extra trip to my house. I will definitely use them again.

Had a serious issue with my main sewer line in the yard. Kevin was honest and forthcoming. By far the best plumber I've hired. Actually returned my calls and emails, and it seems like no one else did. Never calling roto-rooter again.

It went very well...very little disruption for our tenants.....even the girl who happens to have the water meter in a closet in her bedroom! The project was finished in 1 day....and the building now has much better water pressure.

Excellent work, timely response. They unclogged sewer line so I could it could be used until work started. They completed the work in one day. They have a camera to inspect the line and made a DVD so I could see the repairs. The hole was quickly filled and the yard was returned to level. Estimate was exactly what was billed.

Everything went well. Kevin showed up right on time and quickly identified the causes of the plumbing issues. He cleared out all the tree roots and got the utility sink running again. He also followed up with a quote I asked him to pull together, so overall is very responsive and helpful.

Every 2-3 years the drain in my basement backs up. I have an old house with an old pipe running to the city sewers that has tree roots growing in every now and then. I called Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer & Water to have them come and clean out the drain. I was able to get an appointment within days for a price that I felt was reasonable. They were on time and kept the area clean after the work. I would recommend and will use this company again in the future.

They were prompt and courteous. They were neat and helpful, overall very great.

This company was an excellent choice. The neighborhood sewer lines are aging and many neighbors have our problems as well. They were professional, and did exactly what they said they would do. Plus they were very courteous to my elderly parents who live in the home.

Very satisfied with my experience with Minneapolis Suburban Sewer and Water. I had another company come out to clean my sewer line. After they had cleaned out my line, they were very insistent that I needed to have a section of my sewer line dug up and replaced immediately. I was skeptical and after hearing stories about certain companies performing unneeded work, I wanted a second opinion. I called a couple of other companies. After two weeks I am still waiting to hear back from one of the companies. The other was Minneapolis Suburban Sewer and Water. They returned my call in a timely fashion. Even though they were very busy, Ron made time to come out on a Saturday and took a look at my line. While I do have an offset in my line, it was Ron's opinion that no immediate additional work was necessary at this time. I will definitely have them do my sewer line cleaning in the future. And if and when my sewer line needs more work I would have them perform the job.

They were on the city's list of suggested providers, and when I checked Angie's List and saw A ratings, we hired them. Kevin was our main contact and was professional yet personable, and he respected our house and our time. His brothers and the others working with them were also accommodating and very nice and professional. They really knew their stuff! The work they performed was done in one day, and Kevin showed us video of the inside of our sewer line after the work was complete. We saw for ourselves how beautifully lined and smooth the pipes now are. It's quite a relief to know we don't have to worry about that anymore! We previously had to pay to have our roots cut and cleared at least once per year. I recommend this group without reservation. Responsive, responsible, professional, and great work!

I contacted Kevin following a recommendation from my father. Kevin was very professional and reasonable. They completed work at a fraction of the cost of competitors, and did a great job. They were punctual and had timely follow-up to all requests. They were also able to complete the work in one day, which I appreciated. I plan to continue to use Kevin and his company in the future for all of my sewage needs.

A previous company had told us that our sewer pipe had potential internal damage and if not fixed soon would result in a costly replacement. They had also offered to then do the work. We called M&SS for an independent POV . They ran their diagnostic which came clean. They told us it was not atypical in this industry to scare homeowners into expensive replacements even when not required. They were extremely professional , explained things in ways that made sense and put our concerns to rest in a believable way. I felt they were honest, and thorough . We will bring them back without question if needed again

Among multiple bidders, we selected Minneapolis & Suburban because of their ability to respond timely to our request, despite not having the lowest bid. They worked directly with our insurer so that an appropriate assessment could be made. Since the excavation was performed when the ground was snow-covered, they returned a few weeks later to level out the dirt. Finally note that, without prompting, they advised us of the ability to save 5% by printing their coupon from Angie's List. I consider that level of communication to be above and beyond my expectations.

Ron was great. He was on time and listened to my long story of the issue as it had been explained to me by a well-known, nationwide company (with an ad jingle you probably know), only stopping me to clarify things I wasn't explaining well. He was clear, concise, and patient - all the things you want when your talking about a repair that could run well into the $1000's. He went over a number of options, including one that other company did not offer, and gave me a quote that was just less than half the price I'd gotten from the other guys. As it turns out, I did not need to have the work done: the issue was misdiagnosed by that large, national company. (I'll be reviewing them within a day or two and it won't be pretty.) Still, it is possible I may have to do a significant pipe replacement job in the future and if that turns out to be the case, Minneapolis & Suburban Sewer and Water will be my first call. Although I didn't have any work done by them and so cannot comment on the quality of their workmanship, I'd recommend them at the very least as worth calling for a quote just based on my experience meeting with Ron.

This company spend the time and effort needed to get both of these lines completely freed up. They were able to snake down a light and camera to see how their work looked after it was done. The sewer line and laundry drain are working great now.

I can't say enough good things about these workers: professional, punctual, very competent, cleaned-up after themselves, explained the problem and various solutions. As a single, female homeowner, I've encountered my share of condescending contractors -- but these guys were very respectful and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. Their prices were a great bargain; and yet I am confident that I received quality craftsmanship. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Kevin and his crew of 3 showed up right on time with all the correct permits pulled and got right to work. They were there all day in the bitter cold and worked away cheerfully and professionally, answering all my questions and talking through options once they opened up the pipe and saw the state of things. While putting in a liner was an option it would have been expensive and Kevin thought the state of the existing pipe was decent enough to work fine as long as I committed to an annual cleaning to take care of roots that were present at junctions along the pipe length. As a new home owner and a female I appreciate Kevin's honesty and willingness to take the time to explain all the options and what he felt was the most sensible recommendation. Knowing that I am looking to remain in this house for the next 5 or so years he felt a yearly maintenance schedule would be fine vs. the more expensive liner as he didn't see any other imminent areas for concern. The other quote I got from Roto-rooter to do the exact same work came in at $6500. My final bill with the 5% Angie's List coupon was $2257. Saved me approx. $4250! Kevin and his guys did a phenomenal job and were friendly, informative and professional. I would highly recommend them for any sewer cleaning or repair. I will definitely be calling them back to do my annual cleanings - which they quoted at $150 vs. Roto-rooter's $280.

Ron was very diligent and thorough in isolating the problem and minimizing the amount of digging that had to be done. He visited several times to get the details of the problem just right -- dropping the camera and using the sensor to pinpoint the break points, and though we had a little timing problem (they were busy, probably because of all the drought affected trees growing roots into the only place where water was), the work was done quickly, and with little disruption to our yard and our use of the sewer. These guys are craftsmen. Highly recommended.

Received several names of licensed contractors from the city. Got three bids. This was the low bidder. Very satisfied with the work. Prompt. Courteous. Fixed minor problem at no cost.

They were very responsive to my need to get the job done soon and even rearranged some jobs to fit me in. This is a family business and my primary contact was Kevin. They explained the options and were able to come immediately to do a temporary patch and then soon thereafter to put in the new pipe to hopefully avoid this problem for many years. They were very respectful of my home and did their best not to leave the yard in really bad shape. I highly recommend Suburban especially for the more complex underground jobs that may plumbers do not do or should not do. Only a handful were recommended by my city for this type of work. Because they work with the city they can shut the water on/off as needed for the job rather than having to call the city each time. Copper pipe is expensive so you want the best job possible. I think Suburban really knows their trade. They are hard workers and get the job done quickly.

Took longer than expected because of poor soil conditions and sewer incorrectly installed. They managed to keep the sewer operational at the end of each day which was a plus over the holidays. Finished in timely fashion. Very satisfied.

We also received services from Minneapolis Suburban Sewer and Water during August 2010. Both times we found the services were very professional at a fair price leaving our drains without any problems between service, additionally Kevin and his coworkers have been kind and considerate in their interactions with us and our property.
