They were very professional and were open to new ideas. They were very pleasant, ready to learn new things, and paid close attention to detail.

They were prompt to show up as well as quote. They were professional, very thorough in their detail, and honest. They answered all of my questions right there in front of me, they turned around the quote within a couple of days. There are some other concrete guys I'm talking to, that it's been 3 weeks, and they've never come back to me with a quote. They were very responsive. Because of that, I would probably just hire them on that alone. They make me feel confident that they'll show up to do the work.

I called and left a message stating that I was interested in an estimate for our sideway/walkway area and concrete stairs for our front area. I recieved a call back within a reasonable time frame. I spoke with Tm and scheduled a time to come out and do the estimate. We made an appointment for Friday, 5/24/13 at 2:30pm we waiting and waited and called to check around 3/3:15ish to see if I had made a mistake on times/days. No response, No return call, No nothing and today is now Tuesday. Very Very UnProfessional! I was highly disappointed because speaking to them on the phone they seemed very friendly and diligent (and because of that I didn't contact anyone else for an estimate, we were hoping to use them) :-/ Sad to have to give a bad review but that's definitely not acceptable.

They were the middle of 3 very close bids. I liked that they are "city" contractors--we have an older home in the city and wanted to keep it local. Tim seemed very professional and explained a lot to me about concrete work. They came when they said and were very flexible on scheduling (the first date they were available didn't work for us). They did a great job--I like how they sectioned out the work--not just big uniform slabs like the old driveway.

We signed off on the bid, and work began 2 days later. Half a day to tear out steps, half a day to set forms, and half a day to pour concrete.

The whole process was exceptional. They gave me a very decent price, removed the old wooden steps, built a deep foundation and did a beautiful job of pouring and finishing the steps. They arrived when they said they would, allowed me to design the shape of the steps, worked quickly and were done in a day and a half. It couldn't have gone better. They are friendly, professional and competent. I will definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

Lowest bid of the three we received. Stayed in touch with us about a day delay for the start of the project. Stayed on budget and worked with us on-the-fly regarding design decisions. Cleaned up the bits and bobs when they were done, even did some infill landscaping with landscaping stones that were displaced by a new, larger walkway. The original pour of our steps showed cracking a couple months after installation, which was not their fault (they contract with a cement supplier to deliver to their job sites). They tore out and replaced the entire staircase with no argument once they saw how it was looking. A couple small spots popped on stair runners abutting the municipal sidewalk a year later. After some calls someone came by to patch those spots without notification. There was color mismatch not only on those repair spots. But in many areas on the re-poured staircase. After talking with the craftsman doing the patching, we were told that something would be set up to coordinate putting a sealant on the entire project, stairs and walkway, that would synchronize color. More than a year later and that has not happened, nor has there been a phone call or any communication. Since the original work began there have been a few phone calls not responded to.

Tim was very prompt in responding to my initial call, coming out for and providing an estimate. He was professional, polite and knowledgeable, coming up with great ideas for stamped concrete when I told him I preferred a less 'concrete-ey" look, since our driveway takes up so much of our property. He suggested a more swooping line for the stamped concrete, saying it would be more aesthetical pleasing (He turned out to be right). The estimate we received was significantly lower than two others, even though it included stamped concrete and the others did not. Mill City began the job about a month later, giving a couple of hours' notice. The work took longer much longer than we'd hoped (over a month), but this was mostly because of a "perfect storm" of severe heat, rain, a holiday weekend and an issue with neighbors over the property line. We do wish Tim had better anticipated the issue of two large lilac bushes whose roots appeared to be compromised by the placement of the new wall. After a surveyor came out (at Mill City's expense), a mutually satisfying solution was agreed upon to minimize risk to the bushes. Overall, we are delighted with the finished product. The stamped concrete truly looks like brick, and we can't say enough about how terrific it looks. Although we wish the job hadn't taken as long to complete, the final product made the wait well worth it. Clearly, this company knows its stuff and takes pride in what it does. We would use Mill City again without a doubt!

Went very well overall. Tim was very responsive in the bidding process and even gave me good advice on finishes etc. He even helped consult on a final shape that we love. Quality of work was excellent. Tim and his crew really know there stuff. The only complaint I would have is that the crew does not always clean up after themselves well. We found things like gloves and empty cans left in the yard. That said I would hire them again in a heartbeat knowing that the work quality is great.

We are very happy with the work done by Mill City. The work crew was punctual, polite and friendly. Ours was not an easy installation, and the work stretched out over several days, but everything was completed within the time frame originally set up, and they did a pretty good job cleaning up afterwards. We highly recommend Mill City.

They were really fast and did a great job. What they estimated to take 3 days only took a day. Any questions I had were answered. When I asked about a 2 year warranty that another company offered, they were willing to honor it.

It went really well. Tim came out the same day that I called to look at what needed to be done. We did everything because we had water damage in our basement. The estimate was very reasonable, and he was very nice to work with. They were very good at communicating with us, and were also very responsive to all of our questions and requests. I feel that they did a very nice job.

I am very satisfied with the work they did.. They explained every step of work and did a very thorough job.

Mill City was very professional and warm on the phone, they came out promptly to provide a bid, and met with my husband. He liked them very much and they easily discussed the work to be done.The bid from Mill City was very competitive, very clear, and very fair. We ended up going with another company only because we had worked with them before and their bid was $100 less. (The overall job is in the $4,000-range.) I would absolutely work with Mill City and recommend them.

Tom showed up promptly to look at my driveway and gave me a quote. He and his coworkers showed up when they said they would and installed the driveway apron. They were professional, did a great job at a very conservation price, and cleaned up after.

I love Mill City Concrete! Tim and his crew were professional, courteous, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable. They gave me all sorts of great ideas and options for making the space more inviting and functional--without additional cost. They provided quotes for a variety of options, and worked with me to decide which option would work best for my home and my budget. The end result is beautiful and will be durable through the cold MN winters. Their workmanship is terrific. Tim and the crew are wonderful. They're quick and professional and affordable. They know their business. They care about improving the city. They have loads of great ideas. But none of those are my favorite things about Mill City Concrete. What I loved best about working with them? My grumpy old Irish Setter LOVED them, and they were (almost unbelievably!!!) patient with me as I struggled to decide exactly what I wanted done. In the end, the front sidewalk and steps look fantastic. I couldn't be happier with their work, and would recommend them to ANYONE needing concrete work. THANK YOU MILL CITY CONCRETE!!!!

I am very happy with the job that Tim and his crew did--the driveway and sidewalk look great and the drainage issues I had with my old driveway are gone, as Tim was careful to properly grade the driveway so it drains to the street. Tim went the extra mile on my driveway by adding curbing to the edges so that the alignment with the lawn was better. Tim was professional and courteous, and I would highly recommend Mill City Concrete to anyone.

The entire area was excavated, a base layer of crushed concrete and rebar was laid down, and the concrete was poured and sealed. Now I just need to make my garage better looking.... It took a bit longer than expected due to several uncontrollable rain delays, but Tim was always communicative about his schedule and never missed a beat. I actually think my driveway is better looking than a patio slab I had done with another company. The saw-cut joints in the patio don't look as nice as the formed joints in the driveway, I think. As a bonus, Tim, the owner, is a very nice, punctual, and friendly guy. A-plus work all around!

Mill City did a really, really good job. Tim was very responsive, gave me an estimate quickly, and started work almost immediately thereafter. He was willing to negotiate price to fit my budget. He and his partner showed up early at our house every day until the project was complete, worked diligently and efficiently, and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Less than one month after I contacted Tim, the project is complete and we're enjoying the new steps. The end product looks great. Thanks, Tim.

Mill City replaced an existing concrete driveway which turned out to be much more work than expected (the existing driveway turned out to be a concrete overlay to a much older stone driveway which exceeded 12 inches in depth in some places). Mill City finished the job for the bid price and it looks great. There are a few finishing touches that got missed, but overall we are very satisfied.

I am waiting for the inspector to do his final inspection. They were excellent. They came in to do the work. They were fast and efficient. They did excellent work. It?s a young company and a young group. They were very polite. The owner was polite as well. I think the price was horrendous for concrete. However, it was very good compared to the estimates that I received. I would use their services in the future too.

They made an appointment to come and give me a bid. However, they never called or showed up. I left messages for them, but they never responded. I would use them only if they get back to me first.

It went great. Everything was done as expected. They finished on time. He was very knowledgeable.
