Description of Work: Tim came to look at the job we needed - excavating the garage, pouring new footings and floor in the garage, and replacing the driveway. | |Mill City was the only firm who bid for us that planned to finish the driveway with hand tools for lines, rather than sawing lines in once the concrete was set. And their bid was less than some of the other bids. | |Tim and his crew were consistently very professional, hard working, great attention to detail, and very timely to respond to any communication from me (whether it was in person, by phone or email). | |We are exceptionally happy with the finished job and all aspects of working with Mill City Concrete. | |The job is so good looking that another neighbor has already hired them to do some work for them. | |If there was an A+ category - that's what Tim and his crew earned, in our experience with them.

Description of Work: I contacted a number of concrete contractors for bids on regrading my back yard as well as pouring a new slab and driveway for my detached garage. Tim came in almost $1,000 dollars cheaper than the next closest bid. Communication with him can be difficult at times because I think he is very busy. I don't know if he has an office manager. In terms of the work they did, it is excellent! They went above and beyond what we had initially discussed, removing a reinforced retaining wall for only $200. Something I had said I could do but ran out of time. He also disposed of some extra concrete for free that I couldn't if into the dumpster I had rented. All in all, if you can get a hold of him and get on his schedule they do an awesome job.

Description of Work: Tim and his workers tore up my asphalt driveway and concrete walkway and stoop and replaced them with beautiful concrete. They enlarged the stoop and added stairs as I requested. The also installed a drain pipe with pop up valve. They did everything I requested and the results are lovely. I consider them a high quality company and am grateful for their services. They weren't the lowest bid but the most reliable of 8 bids I obtained. Tim really tried to meet my requests. They're a great company

+ 0 moreVery good experience. Tim met with us several times to go over the plans and answered our questions promptly. He was flexible and met all of the demands we had for the project. He was able to do the excavation promptly and was willing to work with and around a retaining wall I was constructing. The only negative was someone or something actually shifted one of our retaining wall blocks by about one inch. The gap is probably only noticable to me and my wife, but it is still something I notice. Other than that, the driveway looks great and is a huge upgrade from the old one. We are very pleased.
Description of Work: Tim and crew excavated our existing alley driveway, laid new base material and poured and finished our new driveway.

+ -1 moreTim was able to come with very short notice because our job could be done even with the rainy weather. He tore out and hauled away our old aspault driveway, cement block retaining wall, part of an old garage foundation and around major tree roots. He willingly moved our heavy compost bin with his Bobcat and dug deeper along the wall area to help us prepare for the new retaining wall we installed ourselves at no extra charge. He did the job in a few hours, charged us exactly what we expected and did a great, clean job across the board.

+ 0 moreMill City gave us an estimate that allowed us to compare to competing estimates. The work was started as promised. There was good communication about what was to be done, when and how. Questions about methods and procedures were answered. The work was completed as planned and outlined. Mill City suggested removing a section of the existing sidewalk (and replacement) to allow for a better angle for the driveway. The possible additional charge was clearly stated. It turned out that in the end, there was no additional charge. The new driveway looks good and it was done as expected and agreed to. Mill City went out of its way to do a good and professional job.
Description of Work: Mill City removed the old asphalt driveway, graded and put in a new concrete driveway and section of sidewalk.

+ 0 moreWell I had Tim at Mill City Concrete out to replace my driveway and sidewalk to the back door at my home in Aug of 07 the concrete still looks as good today as the day it went in. Tim came out for the estimate and went over the process with me. Tim and crew were on site everyday working on the project. Has I had wrote the concrete looks great I'm happy I went with them. I would use Mill City again.
