Scott Mohs was totally unreliable. Talked by phone, and he seemed very knowledgable and interested in the project. Set a time to come. Three hours past the time, I contacted him, and he said he was 10 minutes away. Waited another hour, he never showed, never explained or apologized. I gave him another chance, and he said yes he was still interested. I offered two possible days. He never replied. Very disappointing.
Description of Work: Recommend, install roof ice cables.

Description of Work: This work was a low-budget kitchen remodel, with some related floor support work in the basement below. Although we did not receive the desired result on the floor, the kitchen work was excellent and completed within budget. The attention to detail and responsiveness to questions and concerns was exceptional.

Great.
Description of Work: Mike came to my home and gave me an estimate on the cost of replacing my roof. He was very honest and open about how he does business and what each cost was. I was impressed with his advanced flashing skills. No other contractors I had quoted covered flashing like he did. Some contractors did not want to re-flash my chimney. Mike made the recommendation to remove my chimney stack in poor condition that was near a valley because the fireplace was out of service and sealed. This made a lot of sense to me because when I renovate that fireplace I am planning on doing gas and venting it out the side of the house. I decided to hold off on the replacement of my roof for now but he is at the top of my list when I decide to replace it.

Mike Mohs Construction came on short notice to clean snow from our roof and remove ice build-ups. They came quickly because we had some leaks through our kitchen windows. The men were prompt, courteous, hard-working. We have a three-story house with a sloping roof. This work requires tall ladders and men who can climb on the roof when there is snow and ice. They also cleaned up the snow piles that fell on our front porch during the removals.
Description of Work: These roofers cleaned loads of snow from our roof and removed ice build-ups.

The bedroom project cost $8000.00. Scott did not want to give us a estimate. He asked my husband what he anticipated his work bonus to be and that is what it ended up costing us. The egress windows have held up with no leaks, but the ceiling already has a crack that extends across the room and the two doors he put in are cheap and have not shut since installing them. The window wells originally we thought were part of the cost, but later he told us that would be more. He sent someone out to the window wells in the spring and they used rock from around our house to fill the wells instead of purchasing rock.
Description of Work: Mike Mohs construction did our roof in the summer of 2008. The roof for the most part has been ok except for this last winter it leaked. We called Scott Mohs and he came out with a team to fix the leak. He wanted to charge us $150.00/hr to remove the snow off the roof to fix the leak. He fixed the leak, which did end up being an error in the roofing job, but never came back to fix the big hole in our ceiling. Prior to the leak, but after the roofing job, we called Scott Mohs to come out and put a bedroom in our basement. This included putting in two egress windows, building one wall, drywalling the ceiling and four walls and putting in a door to the room. We used the existing carpet.

The skylight in our sunroom had a problem. Where the cable attached to the window that cranks up, the plastic was cracked and the attachment was loose. I contacted the company who installed the sunroom. They told me the manufacturer of the skylight was no longer in business and we would have to replace the entire roof. I contacted Mike Mohs Construction. Brian called me and told me he thought he could figure out a solution. He came out and looked at the problem. He took the bracket back with him and worked out an attaching solution. It worked fine and we were very pleased with his ingenuity. $64.00 is a lot better than the cost of replacing the entire roof!
Description of Work: Repair bracket on skylight.

We got a new roof on our home. They did multiple quotes for products that we researched and also gave us options that they felt were of good quality. Bob called after finding Mike Moh's Co on the BBB website, went to the house the following day, did the estimate and came back the next morning to go over the estimate prior to us leaving for work. Very convenient on our end considering that we work long and odd hours. They estimated that the shingles would be in roughly four days and then they would come in to do the work. The shingles arrive in 2 days and they came the day after Thanksgiving to work (pretty great considering the holiday). They cleaned everything up when done and they also took time to help us install a new fan in our bathroom that we had problems taking out due to the placement of the vents. Bob also made trips to our place of employment (per our request) to go over colors, the final estimate and anything else we needed.
Description of Work: We wanted a new roof and gutter screens installed.
