I debated whether to score a B or C. I thought the wall-drywall was well done. But communication was really poor and caused undue stress and more time to the job. Many attempts at clarifying the job were unanswered. I received an original bill that was $700 more than I was anticipating and included work that was not even done (like drywalling access to pipes) - I was upset. To his credit, he apologized for this and recalculated the bill. As I hired his crew to paint my old drywall ceiling, he told me that I NEEDED to have my ceiling primed with a stainblock primer or I would see the stains through the paint. I agreed, and clarified this prior to crew arrival - despite this, they came w/o stainblock. This resulted in old drywall stains indeed showing through… me needing to reschedule the electrician/pushing the job out further and Matt coming and reviewing my ceiling and agreeing that it needed touch up. .. which I thought would simply be stainblock priming parts of the ceiling &/or painting, but instead resulted in some paint that didn't stick, nicks, odd lines that needed sanding, and still some stained areas that were not addressed. I texted photos of the imperfections and he agreed that it wasn’t done well. At this point I had already rescheduled workers and said I better just have my handyman repair the imperfections and asked if my bill should be adjusted. He replied to have the handyman finish the job and that he was confident that one more coat of CHB paint and I wouldn’t see any stains. The handyman painted another coat, after the wk-end, I texted hMatt pics of stains coming through paint, and added that my handyman will need to stainblock & prime and that this should be factored into the bill. He replied “K” and adjusted the bill $68.50. I think both parties feel it was unfortunate and could have been avoided by using the product that originally I was told was needed – stain block primer. It added time to the job and stress. To their credit, the walls look good and the crew seemed friendly.

Both my husband and I left voice mail messages for Matt back in early August 2017. He didn't return either of our phone calls.

This is the 2nd time I've used Matt/McCloskey Drywall. Their prices are competitive and the quality of the work is outstanding. They showed up when they said they would and actually finished a day ahead of schedule. Impressed with their employee Joel and for how clean the house was when he was finished.

They do great work and did a nice job patching and texturing.

They were great. They did a fabulous job, were very dependable, and were nice to work with. They finished on time, and cleaned up after redoing the ceilings. They did a really excellent job. I am so glad I contracted with them to do my ceilings.

Quality of the work was good. There were a few minor blemished/wrinkles in the tape. However you wouldn't notice them to the naked eye without a thorough inspection of the work. Matt (owner) was very professional when he came over to give me a quote which was exactly what I was charged. He himself did not perform the work. The only reason this company gets a B rather than A is he did not show up for our first scheduled quote (he said it was a scheduling error), came back out a couple days later. 10% angies list discount was honored.

I always worry when I get contractors, as my experiences have fallen on the bad side. However, Matt's crew (Juan, Cabo, Jeff, and Gavin) restored my faith! These guys were professional, kind, and did an amazing job! I considered a couple other companies and guys listed on Craigslist due to the lower cost, but each one had a catch, money up front, lacking references, missed alpointments, etc, so I decided that you get what you pay for. That couldn't have been more true. These guys went above and beyond. Matt gave me professional advice on how to prepare that saved me time and money on my own work before and after the drywall, and they guys did the little extra things that I didn't even ask for, because I was afraid to raise the price. On top of it all, they delivered on time, which was critical, because I only had 2 days to prime and paint before the carpet came. I would hire again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Rico scraped all the ceilings and skim coated the walls in 1 room, great job by Rico. Jeff was responsible for applying the knockdown texture and spray painting the ceilings, great job by Jeff. The workers were on time every day. Did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. Everyone was friendly and professional at the same time. They took the time to answer to questions and explain what they were going to do. Matt the owner who does the estimates and then comes back to check on the job to see if your expectations have been met is very easy to work with.

Not happy with the person that came out to give the estimate. Person was arrogant.

Perfect, crew was professional, timely, and displayed a sense of perfectionism that would make me recommend McCloskey Drywall again and again. They even hauled away the old removed drywall. We are very happy with the results!

Matt did a great job repairing several cracks in our plaster ceilings and walls and also resurfaced and painted the ceilings in 3 rooms. He worked late two nights and also worked on Saturday in order to keep our project on schedule and finish on time as planned. He is easy to reach and responds promptly to text messages. I would definitely hire him again for this type of work.

They did a great job, were on time and communicated well with us. I was able to paint after they left with GREAT results.

The team was excellent. They were timely, friendly, professional and highly skilled. I had some changes I needed late in the project and they made the changes the same day without a question. Until I have time to put the primer on (in a month or two), I won't really know the quality of the job, including the sanding, but right now it looks great. And I've seen a lot of drywall jobs in my life, so I'm optimistic this will be great and there will be few flaws that need to be touched up. And if there are any issues, I'm 100% sure Matt will make it right. They did a good job of cleaning up, but they didn't vacuum the ceilings and walls after the sanding, so I had to do that using a special filter in my Shop Vac. Overall, I would highly recommend McCloskey Drywall.

Great service as usual. Rico was at our house for several days and did an excellent job. Very friendly, punctual and a hard worker.

Setup appointment at 11am to obtain a bid on the job, Matt never showed, didn't call or respond to texts. I guess the owner feels his time is more valuable than mine. It wouldn't bother me as much if there weren't already a bunch of other reviews complaining about the same thing.

We didn't use Matt's team but only because we had a huge issue come up that took away our budget so we had to switch to DIY to get our kitchen back. Matt came out quickly to give an estimate and we had numbers on the spot and he was by far the best price (we bid out 3 other contractors). He was professional, answered all our questions and was able to work us into the schedule before he left our home. I just wish I could have seen the quality work his team does for drywalling because if its half as good as his customer service it will be excellent. For our next project I will absolutely be calling Matt and his team.

Rico was excellent. Very meticulous, took pride in his work, professional. The first person sent to sand missed many areas and put nicks into walls. Rico was sent in to redo the sanding but was pushed to complete not allowing sufficient time to do the quality of work he would have liked to. Communication was one of the main areas of frustration. We never know when or if they would show up and Rico was often pulled off the job to work else where, adding an additional 1 1/2 weeks to the project. We had no communication from the project manager. If we were to get Rico again we would definitely use McCloskey. Matt did give us a 5% discount for the delay.

When Matt gave me his estimate, he accurately told me what his crew could do. He constructively pointed out things that needed to be corrected in my work so that his crew could complete the job. I learned from talking to him about this. His proposal was straightforward with no phony sales pressure. He was effective with his time and respected my time. The work was done by Jeff and I can't say enough about his professionalism and the quality of his work. He was on time every morning, was friendly and worked steadily each day until the task for the day was done. He fixed the flaws in my work without comment and when he was done, the quality of his work exceeded my expectations. I have finished painting the room and I am highly pleased with the results. I am happy to recommend Matt, his company and particularly Jeff and I will call them again the next time I need any drywall work..

First of all when Matt came to do the estimate it took him a minimal amount of time to evaluate the specifics of what was needed to complete the job and promptly provided me with a neat and professional estimate. We set up a date to proceed and I didn't have to call and remind him - his workers showed up when they were supposed to, were respectful of protecting the adjacent areas and pleasantly went about their work. Juan did a nice job attaching the drywall and then Rico did a wonderful job with the taping and sanding portion of the job. A job well done - in a pleasant and professional manner. Will definitely call them again if I need any work and will share their name with friends and neighbors.

Fantastic service. After receiving an extremely high estimate from another company I contacted McCloskey. Matt came to give me an estimate and was prompt & helpful. It was an easy decision to work with them. The project is underway right now and the project manager has checked in with me everyday. They've also kept my home very clean throughout the process.

Co-worker referred us to McCloskey Drywall. It was an EXCEPTIONAL and refreshing experience to work with McCloskey's team. We were pleased from start to finish. Matt, owner, arrived as scheduled to view the project and provide a fair estimate. Pleasingly, the project was started earlier than expected and finished on time!!! Jeff was the mudder/sander. He did great work, and paid great attention to details. He was professional, hard working, communicative, punctual, and obviously takes pride in his work. Very happy with the final result!
