Great! The plaster ceiling in our kitchen and hallway was badly cracked. McClosky removed the cracked plaster and installed sheetrock over the ceiling. It took three days from start to finish. Reasonable cost, great work, very professional.

Contacting Matt McCloskey was easy and he came over to write up a proposal. His workers were prompt and attentive to my needs for the projects I had going on. Their work is excellent and I am very happy with the results. I was surprised with how little dust there was in my house after the work was done. If I have anymore drywall projects I will contact Matt to do the work.

They did not have the cheapest estimate from companies I contacted, but it was the most detailed, which showed me they looked at all of the elements of work we would need, including wrapping around ductwork. They also could get it done fast, as we were under a tight timeline on our basement remodel project. They pointed out things we had not considered which made for a much better looking project than what our original plan was. They protected barnwood and rock wall that were staying in place and did a great job installing a ceiling up to an uneven rock wall. Our project was not easy and we were relieved to hire it out instead of trying to do it ourselves. Even with a snow day due to bad weather delaying the delivery, they got it done on time, cleanly, and with no impact to the rest of our household. There was no dust upstairs to impact us either. Staff were professional and friendly.

Matt, Jeff and team did excellent work on a recent job to repair water damage and cracks in our 1920 house, which included the use of fiberglass mesh to entirely cover several plaster walls and ceilings to prevent the recurrence of cracks. They also provided a number of helpful hints re. priming and painting of the repaired surfaces. The quality of the work (incl. prep) was very high, but since we did not consider any other bids we cannot comment with much authority on the price we paid, although it seemed reasonable. The McCloskey team was very responsive when we requested a bit of minor remedial work, which they completed promptly. They have performed similar work for us in the past and we would certainly consider hiring them in the future for similar jobs (and recommend them to others).

We have used McCloskey Drywall for many years and will continue to do so on all of our projects. They have been responsive to our needs and on budget. And always a quality job!

Great service, quick scheduling, fair price, and excellent work all around on my project to finish our basement. Hard to ask for anything more when hiring a drywall contractor, and nice to now have a dependable contractor in the event of any future projects. Would highly recommend them to friends.

We had Matt and his team perform their third project at our house. The first two jobs went very well. This one was done very well also. There was an area where they had to set scaffold to reach a 16' ceiling. The job was done on time and had good quality. We will have them back when we do our next remodel

Install went good. It took a little longer then I had anticipated but they were responsive and worked hard to complete the project to accommodate other contractors that I was working with as well.

It didn't go at all. I requested quote through angie's list and they didn't even contact me to set one up. If it's too little of a job or if you are too busy, at least tell the customer. Communication goes a long way!

Scheduled appointment for estimate. 20 mins before appointment I receive a text that he is not going to make appointment. Schedule new appointment for the next day 9 am. 18 mins after scheduled time receive text that he is not going to make it. Absolutely no respect for others time.

Went well. Did what they said they would. Work quality was good. Jeff and Juan were top notch.

It didn't go. Matt was initially responsive to my inquiry through Angie's List and we agreed on a time to meet at my property to discuss the project and move towards a bid. I left work early to meet Matt at my property the day of the appointment, only to receive a text from him just prior to our time, that he would need to move it back an hour due to schedule running behind. Then, after an hour, he texted again to ask if we could reschedule to another day. I accomodated, and we set another day/time. Again, I left work to meet him at my property, only to get a text from him 10 mintues before our meeting time that he would need to reschedule for another day because he had staff call in sick that day. I figured I would give it a go one more time, so we set another date/time for the meeting. Again, I left work early to meet Matt at my property. 30 minutes after the time we agreed on, I had not heard from him, so I texted to check and see if he would make it. Radio Silence. I tried calling and emailing as well. No response. I get it, there is a high demand for skilled workers right now and likely more work to be done that people available to do the work. I was happy to be flexible and understanding the first two times this happened. But to then be N0 CALL NO SHOWED is very upstetting. I think Matt has more work than he can manage right now and I woudln't waste any time trying to get a response. It would be much better if Matt was up front and honest with inquiring potential customers. I would have respected this company much more had they responsed to my inquiry by telling me that they weren't taking new customers right now. Instead, I was strung along, and wasted my time making it to our agreed upon appointment times. That is disrespectful and upstetting. I recommend not using this company as stated early, they have more work than they can manage.

It didn't go. Matt set a time to come out and give an estimate. He contacted me the day he was supposed to come and asked to move the time an hour later. I agreed to the change. He didn't show. He contacted me a bit later saying he was helping with something else and it would be at least another hour. I gave him the times for the rest of the day that I was available, but he decided the next day would work better. He set the time. He never showed up. I reached out to him and found out he wasn't available that day at all. At that time I simply cancelled getting a quote from him. Very unreliable.

Very professional. Punctual, Excellent looking finished product- resurfaced ceiling to smooth from popcorn, and it looks fantastic.

The project went great and was completed as scheduled from delivery of the drywall to coat of primer for our lower level. Juan and his team worked hard to install all the drywall for the project in a day. Jeff did the tape and finishing and provided a flawless, smooth surface. Highly recommend.

I reached out but never heard back. I'm sure they do good work based on other reviews.

Matt did the estimate. He was able to accomodate my schedule. Was able to quickly gather the information/measurements needed. Written estimate was provided the next day. The work was started two weeks later by Tom. Tom did an amazing job with our ceiling. He is a great guy. Terrific worker. Very kind and professional. Talented craftsman. Cleaned up after the job so no mess for me to deal with. The ceiling now looks perfect. Very pleased.

When I called McCloskey to inquire about having a hole in my bedroom closet repaired, the man I spoke with was professional and friendly. He advised me that our small job would not meet the company's minimum requirement and advised that a good handyman should be able to perform the work for less money. I really appreciated his honesty and the extra minutes he took to consult with me. If we ever have a larger job to do, I will put McCloskey at the top of my list to call as a result of this positive experience.

The job took a total of 4 days. The room was a disaster before Rico showed up day 1. Wall paper removal project left gouges, scrape marks and lifted paint everywhere. He was outstanding in his demeanor, professionalism, promptness, respect for the home, and equally excellent as a skilled technician. Every aspect of the project was completed in a timely and process driven fashion with attention to detail as the number one objective from my observations.

We used McCloskey Drywall to drywall over the original plaster ceilings in the main floor of our 1880's Victorian (the original plaster ceilings were sprayed with popcorn decades earlier, and the plaster beneath was full of dips, waves, and ripples, and cost-prohibitive to repair instead of cover), and to skim coat over our similarly popcorned foyer area. Matt McCloskey was by far the most professional, prompt, and organized contractor who came out to quote our project, and even gave us a full quote before leaving, sitting down for just a few minutes to put in measurements and calculate the costs for us. (All other contractors, please take note of this - it goes a long way!) We did run into an issue with the job as they were finishing, due to the first mudder/taper on the job not applying enough mud, which resulted in seams showing in between many of the sheets of drywall. (This was perhaps amplified by the fact that we have 10' ceilings, a flat, smooth surface, and bright rooms.) Though this was frustrating to see at first, it was corrected right away when I contacted Matt. He came out to see it and couldn't have been in the house for more than about 30 seconds before saying they would send another guy out within a couple of days to correct the issue. Matt then sent out their best skim-coater, Tom, a great guy with decades of experience, and he leveled and skim-coated the full surfaces (in what's known as a Level 5 finish) to give us a perfectly smooth ceiling in both rooms. Mistakes are bound to happen from time to time, and I believe the key in finding the right contractor for the job comes in finding someone who will stand behind their work and be willing to correct any issues that come up. Matt McCloskey exceeded all expectations with this! Matt's crew also did a great job of keeping the rooms clean as they completed the project. Since the job covered most of our main floor and we have pets, we couldn't avoid the area at night, but they did a great job cleaning up each day - we never felt like we were coming home to a mess, and their final clean-up was top-notch as well. I don't know that we'll have any additional drywall projects in our old, mostly plaster-surfaced house, but if we do we will certainly invite McCloskey Drywall back for the job, and I'm definitely encouraging everyone who reads this to give Matt a call for their project!

Matt and his team did a superb job. I couldn’t believe how fast the job went. Everyone one of his employees were professional and friendly. We are very pleased. I highly recommend McCloskey Drywall.

Rescheduled and missed multiple appts. Decided not to waste any more time waiting on matt.

When I called they came next day to give me a bid. It turned out they had a cancellation so ended up coming the next week to do the work -- others I called where 4 - 6 weeks out for scheduling, so I appreciated their flexibility. The crew was great; Juan and Matt did the sheet rocking, and Rico and Joe did the taping -- there were lots of others helping, sorry I didn't get everyone's names! Everyone worked hard and the site was neat at end of each day. They were right on time and it looks great, I am thrilled and would strongly recommend them to others.

Matt, Rico and Juan (and others I don't have names for) did an amazing job in our basement! They were very conscientious throughout the project, cleaning up after each day of work, taking care to keep dust and dirt out of our upper level, and the walls and ceilings look perfect! Project manager Matt kept in contact with us throughout the project to let us know daily timing, what would be done, etc as we were not there during the day. They also came back out, without hesitation, to take care of a couple of small things we hadn't noticed at completion. We will definitely use them for future projects!
