MARK'S PLUMBING SERVICE & REPAIR

More than 30 minutes late for initial visit and this made me late for work. No one apologized. Didn’t clean up after themselves (metal shards all over my basement), started the longest part of the job last because they “didn’t know” I wanted it done (I told them when scheduling plus it was on the quote), and plumbers left twice to get parts because they didn’t come prepared. The work was effective but I experienced an unorganized business that left me late for work and my basement a mess.

Scheduled and performed service in timely manner. The plumber was polite and efficient.

Company representative arrived 2 hours after my initial phone call reporting a leaking water heater. A new water heater was installed on the same day. The new water heaters are greater in circumference which created a bit of a challenge in a tight utility closet. The company found the right solution to make the new water heater fit.

They were punctual and friendly. We had some unanticipated issues (not surprising considering the age of the pipes), so it cost more than originally quoted, but still less than I would have expected for the entire job.

Alex did an excellent job. It was a Sunday morning, and he was respectful of that. He called before coming, was on time, was very neat and clean, and knew what he was doing. The other toilet hadn't been installed properly, and he fixed those issues. He left our house cleaner than when he arrived, because he took away the old toilet plus all of the packing material for the new toilet. The best part was that he came when it was convenient for us, and he didn't charge more just because it was a Sunday morning.

It broke on a Friday - since I had a back up bathroom - I was comfortable waiting until Monday - he was punctual - brought a replacement and removed the old toilet.

Located and fixed a leak coming from our utility sink and leaking into our basement ceiling. Mark was prompt, professional and explained everything. He tore out the ceiling and made the repair. Only negative is it was a bit more expensive than anticipated, but he did a good job.

Mark, the owner, and his crew came out to assess the work to be done. He was personable as were his assistants...It was clear to us that he knew exactly what needed to be done and he immediately asked if we had any questions or concerns. I was impressed with how well they cleaned up after they were finished, and how patient they all were with any questions I had. Their work was excellent and high quality. I would definitely hire them again.

I called Mark's plumbing and reached Mark. He said he would send out a plumber between 9 and 10 am. I received a text message and the plumber arrived at 9:30. He stayed about 2 hours - did a great job! Very pleasant and professional. Unlike Roto Rooter which did a terrible job the day before.

I called 4-5 other plumbers and none of them could make it out today, but Mark was able to get someone out later in the evening. However, Mark's schedule freed up and he was able to come himself about a hour after I called. The drain looked like it was going to be a problem, and after snaking 50+ feet of his machine into the pipe it wasn't looking too good, but the clog eventually worked itself free and my drain works again!

It was going to be a couple of days before they were available, so I delayed a couple more so that I would only have to take one day off of work. The project turned out to be bigger than expected since we discovered that shutoff valves for the main water line to my house did not shut the water off entirely, but the plumber was able to overcome that obstacle and complete the repair before the new refrigerator arrived later that same day.

When our garbage disposal died, we used the opportunity to replace the kitchen sink and garbage disposal at the same time. We bought the disposal at Costco and the Moen sink and faucet at Home Depot. Mark, the owner, gave us an appointment within a week of the time I called. Mark's plumbing could have come out the next day but our work schedules are irregular, therefore a week was the soonest we could meet. Mark the plumber (same name as the owner) was there right on time and had it all installed within 3 hours. The sink we chose did not match the blueprint of the previous one so more work and a few more parts were required to make the parts we bought all fit together but Mark did a wonderful job. We will definitely use this company again and highly recommend them for punctuality, professionalism and quality of the work done.

It did not go well; it was a bad experience. The plumber said that he would need to cut a bigger hole in our finished ceiling for access to the stop & waste. I questioned this, because the stop & waste had been replaced a few years ago, and those plumbers had been able to work with the existing opening. But the plumber from Mark’s Plumbing proceeded to cut a hole more than twice as big as the existing hole, leaving quite a large gap in the finished ceiling. When the plumber had installed the new stop & waste valve, I went downstairs to view it and noticed a black mark approximately 1" by 2.5" at eye level on our paneling. It appeared to be a solder mark, and I didn't recall it being there before. The plumber did not apologize and would not acknowledge making the solder mark. The plumber did not clean up well when he was done. I had to remove lots of soldering bits from the floor. Also, I noted the carpeting under the work area was wet – even though I had given the plumber an old vinyl tablecloth to cover the floor. I then found the vinyl tablecloth bunched up in my laundry tub with bits of solder in it. The plumber asked me to pay him by writing the check out to him personally, rather than to Mark’s Plumbing Service. Since he was not the owner of the plumbing service, this seemed a rather unusual procedure.

I hadn't use them before. He was absolutely great. I got him off of Angie's List. I will definitely use him again. He's going to come back and check out my furnace. He cleaned up so well.

The guys at Mark's plumbing are very professional and courteous. The bathroom remodel they did for me was far more economical compared to the lowest bid I got from a remodeler. The response time and follow-up is great before and after the job is done. They warranty their work and sent someone to fix a small leak the same day after the fixtures had been installed. I highly recommend them for any plumbing and bathroom remodeling work.

Mark came out the day after calling him to look at my water heater and provide an estimate. His estimate was more competitive than a few others. He was available to install the new heater right away. Had the new water heater installed about a week later. He sent another plumber out to perform the work. Everything was done neatly and they were professional.

The overall experience was very good. The initial scheduler was very pleasant to work with. Mark got on the phone to listen to what was wrong. They had someone out to my house quickly. That person was on time. Based on the age of the softener, their recommendation was to replace it. There was no pressure and they were not going to charge for the initial call. I asked him to go ahead and replace it and it was completed that day. They didn't have the softener at the first place he tried so it took him a little longer to get the softener, but he called me twice to let me know what was going on. He did a nice job of cleaning up afterwards.

Mark was really good. This was the second time I have used them. They have been quick, professional and responsive each time. They clean up after themselves very well. I would definitely recommend them. They gave me a new garbage disposal.

Called Mark's plumbing at 8am to have kitchen faucet leak looked at. They said they could come out between 11-1, the plumber called me when on the way at 11am (which was really nice). The plumber was considerate and introduced himself. I showed him the kitchen faucet and a repair could be done, but spending a little bit more I could have a new faucet put in. I had bought a new faucet at the hardware store a few months ago but just never got to having in put in. He quoted the job on the site and put in the new faucet.

Our home warranty put us into contact with this company, and I couldn't be more pleased. Mark, the installer, arrived within 40 minutes, and had the job done about an hour later. He was extremely helpful and courteous answering my many questions and careful not to damage any property when removing and draining the old water heater. He went above and beyond by correcting a couple safety issues, and fixing another faucet affected by the deposits dislodged from the old heater.

I called Mark's out of the Yellow Pages. He was able to give me an accurate quote for replacing a shorty 40 gallon water heater. The quote seemed a little high, so we shopped around. It's hard to find the short water heaters like we need, but we thought we had one lined up at a reasonable price. But the vendor used outside installers, and the installers wanted a several hundred dollar premium to work in Minneapolis. So I called Mark's back, and I'm glad I did. We scheduled an appointment to have a Bradford White water heater installed. Scheduling the appointment was easy; Mark's was very accommodating. The installer arrived and was able to get the old heater out and the new heater back in to the tight spot; everything went smoothly. The new water heater works great. I should have saved myself the hassle with the other vendor and stuck with Mark's right from the beginning.

Mark is the owner and he is very nice to talk with. He told me to have a check written out for $600 but we ended up paying $200 more because the codes have changed for the pipes. Mark the installer is clean and careful. Their estimates are not right.

Mark and Mark were both very polite and helpful. They came out promptly, but since I was dealing with XCel Energy as well, they had to come back the next day to finish. They did not charge me for the extra trip, they just got everything set up so it would go quickly the next day. When I called them the following month for some help with another matter, they followed through quickly for me. I will feel confident calling them again in the future.

Did not return initial phone call and I had to call back to get a response (to request service and set up apt). When I finally spoke to someone regarding the things I needed repaired, he told me he could not give me an estimate over the phone and that I would get an estimate when the tech showed up prior to repair-ok. The day of the scheduled work, the tech did not show up within the two hour window and didn't call. When I got hold of them, they said he's running late - no apologies given. The tech showed up, looked at pipes and said "I have to check with my boss, I usually don't work on PVC, only copper piping" (why didn't they tell me that when I set up the appointment?!). The plumber did snake out a bathroom tub drain (the only thing accomplished and wasn't on the list, but we agreed to it once suggested). So, in other words, our two main problems (our broken pipes) never got fixed (and a day of time off of work wasted and $175 down the drain)
