Absolutely wonderful work. He did a few extra things not on original bid, and pointed out future roofing concerns. Only quibble was with safegaurds/cleanup of plants/shrubs during work.

Dominic came out and gave a detailed description of what needed to be done. He was professional, easy to understand and thorough. I was confident that if I had them do the work, that I would have received high quality work. The only reason that I didn't have them do the work was because I received a substantially lower bid from another seemingly good company. Marcus' bid may have been higher because he doesn't usually do work in my area.

Marcus did a wonderful job. He did these jobs promptly and very professionally. He always let me know what was going on and how much it would cost. Nothing hidden. I would use him again.

I had several problems with my masonry and stucco. The faces of some of my 85 year-old bricks onthe chimney as wel as the skirt around the base of my house were spalling. Additionaly, cracks were developing at some brick joints and a few areas of stucco, especially where the house had settled unevenly. And lastly, some of the brick lintles over my basement windows were in desparate shape (the steel was rusting and swelling, cracking the brick along with it). Marcus suggested economical and technically sound fixes for all of my problems. His execution was very good, even gong above and beyond the contract to "make it right" in more than a few spots. He was great about keeping me up to date with his schedule and any significant changes to his plan of attack. Marcus has an artistic eye as well that came in handy when he masked the effects of my spalled bricks without actually replacing any brick. Overall, a very good experience.

Marcus called and said he would be over that morning. He and his helper were very courteous and professional. He also pointed out other areas that needed repair and said that he would come back at a later date.They did more work that was requested and didn't change any more. They left and it started to rain. They came back and covered the repaired spots with plastic. They did a great job and I would recommend Marcus to anyone that wanted masonary work done.

Marcus did an excellent job. The brick and mortar blends perfectly with other areas of the house. Going into the job my biggest concern was matching the stucco color (old with new); the work done far exceeded my expectations. Above and beyond! We originally contacted Marcus Wise regarding a missing brick in our chimney. His estimate included the replacement of the missing brick, as well as grinding out brick joints and tuck pointing. However, as he and his partner began the work, the top half of the chimney crumbled and fell to the ground. Not only was the chimney completely deteriorated but there was also a bird nest complete with eggs and other bird detritus - a very messy job. They ended up rebuilding the top half of the chimney, completed the job in one day, and cleaned up afterward. He insisted on charging us his original price and would not accept more. The chimney looks great and is no longer a danger.

Working with Marcus was a true pleasure. After hearing what we wanted, he delivered a design that completely surpassed our expectations. He is not only talented, but the kind of person you really enjoy having around. While his bid was slightly LOWER than the two other estimates we received from other contractors, that was an added bonus and not why we chose him. After seeing pictures of his work and hearing about his approach, we just knew he was the right person for the job.

Mr. Wise was able to fit in an appointment for an estimate promptly. He sized up the necessary work and potential difficulties well, primarily matching our older, less frequently brick type (roman). He offered good solutions/approaches to some of the replacement and repair, and was honest in admitting the job would be better if things were replaced with roman brick, which he did not have a ready supply. Mr. Wise said he would be out of town shortly after his estimate visit, and delay preparation of an estimate. During that time, we found a mason who did have a source of roman brick. Based on the estimate experience, I'd be willing to give Mr. Wise other chances for future chimney and masonry work.

It looks great. We looked at another house he'd done the same way, which has held up well after 20 years. The price was way lower than the other estimates we got, and he was very easy to work with, prompt, friendly, efficient, and attentive to details. He also explained everything very clearly.

My chimney was falling apart. I wanted to fix it and most people said that wasn't an option. Marcus presented me the idea of wraping it in concrete. It was a very cost effective, and a solution that will last a long time.

This was one of our best contractor experiences. We initially wanted to screen the flues, but there was obvious tuck pointing that was needed as well. We called Marcus after calls to other contractors quoted much higher prices for the screens. He does both basic chimney repairs and screens. He came out the next day with ladder and climbed to the roof top. The work came in at $1000 for tuck pointing and screens with no cost for the estimate. He was out that same week with matching replacement brick and mortar coloring to repair the chimney. The job was done in two days time. The roof was cleaned, screens on and right at the estimated cost. The roof was cleaned; no construction residue. The thing that we liked was the suggestions and the information he provided. Example: The flues typically are lined with metal to protect the chimney from corrosion from the offing gases of the natural gas. He suggested a call to our furnace service company for the need. He also invited us to inspect the work as he was doing it. He seems to be be an honest contractor with integrity. We would use him again.

We found Marcus on Angie's List. The reviews looked good to us and he was close by. He and another company came out to give estimates. His was $1200 and theirs was $1800 and they were more interested in rebuilding because there was a slight lean. Marcus advised against the rebuild because the lean was not too bad. It was not too bad and looks even better now. He came out the next week with another person to help him. He came, not his team, subs or someone else. Having the person that you talk to and gives you the estimate come and do the work is a plus in our book. When meeting him in person our impression was very positive as well. He seems like a great guy. He set up his gear one day and was done the next. He matched the mortor to the bricks so we did not have a bright white grid on our chimney. Everything looks great. The cost was very good. Would recommend for sure!

Mr. Wise performed repair work quickly as the weather permitted. Replaced mortar on all caps of wall and repaired cracks in concrete blocks. His work looks the way I expected reflecting a professional job performed.

Marcus identified the problem mortar, made the lowest bid, and got the job done within a month of making the bid. The mortar matches our old mortar very nicely. The only problem I had was some mortar stuck to the bricks at several spots, but Marcus came right away and applied some acid that took it off. Overall, I was very happy with Marcus.

It has been an amazing experience, he showed up when he said he would, he did a very nice job. The mortar in the bricks matches the bricks. It blends very well. He was very clean and he charged a very good price.

Marcus Wise was fantastic. I called him on a Tuesday morning and he got back to me the same day. He was also able to come out the next day to give me an estimate. I had initially just called him to get the tuck pointing done by the entrance to the house, but after a few questions from me, we looked at having him fix the cracks in the stucco as well. He told me that he was booked pretty solid for the rest of July but that he would schedule me for early August. Less than a week later he called me to tell me he had a postponement on one of his jobs and that since mine wasn t a big job, he could do it in the next two days. He completed the job on schedule and I am very pleased with the results. Marcus was able to answer all of my questions quite thoroughly. In addition, Marcus offered me advice on other home improvement possibilities. I would definitely recommend Marcus Wise to anyone who has need of a skilled and informative mason.

The job went very smoothly. Marcus started on the day he said would and he took great care to protect the awnings that were located on either side of the chimney. It was a very good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.
