Maid For A Day

Although there were a very few places where I felt dusting may have been a minimum, overall the job was done well and a huge relief to me (picture 5 animals and my being gone two-months; my husband does not clean...much). The fur was eliminated as best as possible, the hard water build up on the shower door is gone, the kitchen is once again above condemnation. Carolyn called promptly to respond to my pleas for help, set up a time to review the needed work and provide a price. With the Angie's list coupon I was able to get the 1st and 2nd cleanings (I certainly did set up a time for a second cleaning!) at a 50% discount- a really huge help at this time of year, and a great bargain for the amount of work needed. The cleaners arrived earlier than expected- no problem- and worked a solid three hours without break or complaint. They were personable and asked questions to help them do the job I wanted. They even did a bit more when they noticed a dirty screen or two and cleaned them; I was pleasantly surprised and extremely grateful. Carolyn called to follow up and to schedule the next cleaning.

They called me back really quick. They came over and did a really nice job and they had a pretty decent price. We would use them again.

They did a one time general cleaning. They cleaned the windows, doors, tiles and the floor. They did vacuuming and sweeping. They were on time and their job was good.

Carolyn came to give an estimate - she was very prompt and professional. We had a sort of strange request -- on fairly short notice we needed most of the house (3 levels) cleaned but not the usual deep cleaning you have the first time. Carolyn had no problem with that and was able to schedule cleaners to come just a couple of days later. Lisa and Lisa were not only prompt but early. They were very pleasant and professional as well. They did a great job in a short time. Carolyn even stopped by to check on the progress. I had only one small concern which I didn't see till after they left. They (as well as probably most cleaning companies) use a feather duster quite a bit. While that works well on vertical surfaces like walls, when it comes to horizontal surfaces, it can be hit or miss. Our fireplace mantel was hit or miss and there may have been other areas but since we have very light wood, it would be unnoticible to our company which was our primary concern. I would definitely have them come again and I'm sure if I mentioned the situation, they would be happy to rectify the problem in the future. Going forward, we will have them attend to some of the needed deep cleaning, little by little. They were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Our appointment was made for a time that worked for us. The only problem was in some confusion about the actual start time. We thought they would be 30 minutes later and we were caught off-guard when they arrived. Overall I was impressed with their efficiency and professionalism when it came to setting up the session and delivering on their services. The owner of the property noted how impressed he was with the cleanliness of the property after we left.

Follow up as of 7/22/2009: We had an appointment for this past Tuesday, but they had written it on the calendar for another day. I thought they were a no-show, but it was actually a misunderstanding. After she received my report, she immediately called to apologize for the mix up and offered to make amends. I appreciated that.

They were very nice and professional, they did a walk through of the house before they actually cleaned the house and gave us an estimate. I was very impressed because they were on time and were very friendly and reliable. When it was time to clean they were there, I would recomend to everyone.

The crew arrived early and they were very professional and friendly. I thought they did a fairly good job but they did not clean under the beds and under the dresser. They did not wipe down the appliances in the kitchen but did clean the microwave. My only real issue was the weird pricing. They claimed that they were honoring a half price coupon but when they factored in the first time evaluation, the first and second cleanings cost more than the subsequent cleaning which seems to be a bit of a scam. Apparently, there is no half price deal. Even at full price, they were probably worth it.

On-time both for estimate and cleaning. Very thorough and careful, asked if anything of question. Considerable improvement over previous house cleaning service.

The crew arrived early and called several times to leave messages letting me know they were waiting, this was annoying as I was on my way home from work to meet them at the specified time. They started the project and worked for a couple of hours. Once complete I inspected the house with the lead cleaner. On the surface it appeared to be clean to my expectation. Once I started moving my things in, I discovered that the cleaning job was not as thorough as I had expected. For example, the cupboards were supposed to be wipe out. I found several cupboard that were not clean. The top of the fridge had a layer of grime that was not wiped off. They were supposed to wipe down all of the woodwork (baseboards, crown moulding, etc) this did not appear to have been done in the upstairs of the house.

Very well. They do a nice job... Could be more detailed and deeper, but good service.

They are nice. They do a good job and they have been easy to work with. I was gone on vacation and forgot to tell them and they didn't charge me, even though they came out and tried to get in. I thought that was nice. They are willing to do other things other than what they are paid to do. I can ask and they will price it for me. I will continue to use them in the future.

They don't require contracts. They do a very nice job and are nice people. My house looks noticeably different! I got 50% off my first cleaning from them. I was thoroughly confused by their coupon though, but their work was marvelous! I will be using them again.

This last time was satisfactory, but it does depend on the crew that comes to do the work. They showed up on time and I think they are reasonably priced.

This was my first time with a cleaning service so I didn't quite know what to expect. Overall, I was very pleased with the service. I will be calling them again to reschedule another appointment next month. The Estimate: A representative came to give us a quote. She was right on time and very friendly. She gave me a quick run down of all the services they would perform by room. She answered all of my questions and quoted me a price that was within my expectations. She promised to call me later that day to set up an appointment. She called early afternoon and was able to get me in the next day. From the moment I called this company to schedule the free estimate, I was impressed with their customer service and professionalism. The Cleaning Service: The next day a team of two showed up right on time. I was at home during the entire cleaning service. They were very friendly and went straight to work. They started upstairs and worked their way down. Once they got down to the main room, I moved upstairs to stay out of their way. I was very happy to see their work upstairs. I don't think our bathroom has been that clean in a long time!! Plus, we have a lot of stairs (which are a pain to vacuum) and the stairs looked great. I also noticed that they did a really good job at putting everything back in its original spot. There were a few items that were flipped, but not a big deal at all (especially considering how many things they had to pick up and move to clean to begin with). Other areas where they did a good job were; our entry way, which was full of dirt and sand from our shoes, was now nice and clean and our appliances/kitchen looked really good. My one compliant is that I think they quickly hurried through the main floor as there were some items on the mantle place, the ceiling fan and the microwave vent (which was specifically mentioned during the estimate walk-through as being covered in the first cleaning) were missed. In the grand scheme of things, these were pretty minor and I was really happy with the main areas of concern (bathrooms and stairs). I will definitely be giving them another try.

Have been using the last several months and will continue. Very pleased. Have used other cleaning services, and this one does not require a contract. Can quit at anytime. Big plus.

They're on-time, nice, and they do a good job of cleaning. The price is better than the competition.

They did a deal for me the first two visits. They ve done a nice job. They have come when they said they were going to come and they have cleaned what they said they would clean. It takes about two to three hours and they have two people come out.

A very nice woman came to the house to do the estimate. I signed up; the first cleaning was great and now they come every 2 weeks.

It went well for the most part. Maid For A Day is a very professional, well run company. They made it clear from the start that they were a housecleaning service not a housekeeping service, in response to my questions about doing extra things like cleaning out the refrigerator or putting away clutter. I appreciated the clarity. I have a problem with the time actually spent cleaning our home and the depth of the cleaning in relationship to what I paid. They charge by the job, not for the actual time spent cleaning. I prefer a service that charges by the hour.
